Spotted this for sale for £300 in a local charity shop today. Can't decide if u should go back in the morning to see if it's still there and buy it. What do you think? The colour is a bit unusual.....

To clarify - the one I've seen is a kind of pinky brown

Not unless it’s in perfect condition and you think you are going to get lots of use out of it.

Fozzleyplum · 26/10/2019 20:48

You need to decide if you really like it, or whether you are interested because it was a much higher price when new. I buy high end clothes and accessories from EBay and I always mske sure I am buying the item rfor itself, rather than for the price, iyswim.

As it happens, I wouldn't buy the Chloe bag because I don't like the style or colour, but if you love it and would hanker after it at full price, then it would be a great buy for you.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 26/10/2019 20:56

It's a pretty dated bag, and not in a classic way. I wouldn't buy it at any price.

queenofarles · 26/10/2019 21:01

No, it’s quite a dated bag. Not sure they make them anymore.

For £300 you can get a nicer Mulberry or A.P.C Demi lune bag.

HappyHammy · 26/10/2019 21:02

If you like the actual bag then you might find cheaper on Ebay. Dont just buy it for the name.

DramaAlpaca · 26/10/2019 21:04

I don't like the style or the colour so I wouldn't. I'm sure there are much nicer bags you could get for that money. But if you like it & will use it, go for it.

WhoKnewBeefStew · 26/10/2019 21:04

Do you like it? That should be the only question you ask yourself (plus if you can afford it)

Allice · 26/10/2019 21:05

I like the style, if you felt you were going to use it I'd buy. I'm sure they're quite heavy bags though and that would put me off.

7salmonswimming · 26/10/2019 21:07

Would you pay £300 for that style and colour and quality of bag if it weren’t Chloe?

botemp · 26/10/2019 21:08

How sure are you its authentic? Does it come with a dust bag or anything? This was an overly popular bag at one point and there were a lot of fakes around.

greypetex · 26/10/2019 21:19

£300 for a bag? From the charity shop Shock

Absolutely not.

LizziesTwin · 26/10/2019 21:24

I’ve had two Chloe bags, on one the strap broke and the retailer refunded me after it was returned to Chloe for checking (took 9 weeks) and on the other, a Marcie, the internal stitching started coming undone after 2 days so I returned it. I’d avoid.

Sunshine196 · 26/10/2019 21:26

If you like it, think you will use it & it's genuine it's a really good price for a second hand Marcie. I really like them but this would be too big for me.

DameXanaduBramble · 26/10/2019 21:28

I have a marcie. It cost me 1300 so that’s a bargain. It’s also a classic.

PrincessRaven · 26/10/2019 21:30

No, because its fugly

Haworthia · 26/10/2019 21:31

I wouldn’t trust a charity shop to authenticate a designer bag.

I once saw a Uniqlo x Orla Kiely dress (£20 new) being sold for £200 as proper Orla Kiely Grin

DameXanaduBramble · 26/10/2019 21:31

The colour you’ve found is lovely too!

whatswithtodaytoday · 26/10/2019 21:31

Would you like it if it wasn't Chloe? It looks a bit dated to me, and not a very nice colour.

Shelley54 · 26/10/2019 21:32

I have one in teal. It's beautiful. If you love it buy it.

Ohyesiam · 26/10/2019 21:33

No, it’s horrible

Ilovetolurk · 26/10/2019 21:33

There’s a lot of stitching on that to come away

SparePantsAndLego · 26/10/2019 21:36

I would be super cautious. Are you very familiar with this style of bag? Can you be certain it’s genuine? I’m not suggesting the charity shop is out to defraud but I’m surprised that someone would give it away to them. If it were me, I’d sell it myself and donate the money to charity if I had chosen to support a good cause.
Proceed with extreme caution.

DameXanaduBramble · 26/10/2019 21:37

The stitching is amazing, its a lovely bag. Mine is grey (cashmere) and so beautiful. The salmon colour you’ve found isn’t made any longer but is a great one.

SpeckledyHen · 26/10/2019 21:38

I would be concerned that it was a fake . If you want a pre- loved bag in that price range I would buy from Labels Most Wanted or similar not a charity shop .
