Tell me about your microblading emotional rollercoaster

Love to read your microblading emotional rollercoaster.

I had my done 2.5 days ago. First 36 hours I absolutely hated them. They looked 'Kardashian's like, really blocky and oh so dark. I just felt like I had kylie Jenner style eyebrows which is not the natural look I was seeking. I wanted them to balance my features not be an statement brow.

I'm 2.5 days in and slightly happier. Covering them with glasses all day has helped significantly!!

Can anyone else let me know how they felt at various points on the healing process.

I rang my DM in floods of tears when I got back in the car after my first appointment. I thought I looked like a fucking angry bird and I was so embarrassed. I wore my glasses every time I had to go into the office as it distracted people from what had actually changed.

Once they healed and settled though, not only can I not imagine my face any different now, but I get so many compliments and look much more put together, even without makeup. Best decision.

I have had mine done for several years now and love them, but they always look too dark to start with then they scab and look awful, then the scabs fall off and you'll look like you've got some nasty disease of the eyebrow for a few days and then you'll be upset and angry as they'll look so faint and slightly patchy and then they will settle and you will love them.

I was advised no sunscreen until healed but no exposure to sun whilst healing, so baseball cap comes in handy.

Thismummyruns · 23/10/2019 21:39

I had them done, waste of time for me. After the top up had healed they were nonexistent. I then went back and had a further top up and again, after healing, they were barely there. All that pain and money for no reason. My eyebrows now actually look worse than before, lots of hair no longer grows almost like scarring.

I'm put off for life Sad

NamedyChangedy · 23/10/2019 21:56

I love mine, but they're freshly done - the last scabs from my top-up session fell off yesterday. I had extremely sparse eyebrows (to the point of invisibility) and the difference is honestly life changing. Sounds frivolous but it is.

And yes, the healing stage was rough, with 6-7 days each time (from Angry Bird to scabby flakes) but it was a mild inconvenience for two weeks of my life.

They've healed beautifully and I hope they'll last at least a full year, although I've been told that oily skin fades faster. I also had microblading with shading which is meant to last longer. Overall, a very worthwhile investment.

NamedyChangedy · 23/10/2019 22:01

@kmini it sounds like you went to Nez as well? Stick with it, they'll look great in the end and she can fix anything you're not happy with at your top-up appointment. If it helps, my DS has been making fun of mine too, but I don't normally seek beauty advice from 9 year old boys!

kmini · 23/10/2019 23:27

Yes I did @namedychangedy. How did you know? I feel bad doubting her work as she's so well regarded and really lovely. Everything everyone says rings true with what she said. Just need to have faith.

I'm getting advice from a 5 year old- even more dubious!

@Geppili those are lovely

Geppili · 25/10/2019 17:55

Thank you!! It is unbelievable what a difference it makes to my face! I was terrified about looking like I had to black bat wings drawn on. I barely felt it too. Will post some healing photos.

Geppili · 25/10/2019 17:56

My v suspicious DDH and DSs said they're nice but what will they look like when you take the make up off? Haha

kmini · 29/10/2019 19:34

Sorry @Geppili I just saw your message. I'm actually really happy with them now. Much less blocky and a nice shape overall. Prob still a smidge dark but I can handle it. Dreading my top up and going back to be dark again Grin

They look amazing gepili

theemmadilemma · 29/10/2019 22:33

Hmmm I'm thinking I might have to look into this. Quite pricey, but when they look natural they look great and one of my eyebrows is patchy due to an accident.

PavlovaFaith · 29/10/2019 22:37

Goodness me I thought the going rate was around £200-300!

I know this is an old thread but may I ask for those who were on here how their microblading is now, 4 years later. Has anybody let them fade and it’s gone ok? Not turned red, orange, grey smudge? Hoping for some positive comments.

PuppyMouse · 15/10/2023 20:28

@TwoLittleRoses i get mine topped up every year to 18m. It faded grey more than I’d have liked when it got very overdue (the professional I used is brilliant at brows but has had a lot of personal issues so went AWOL for a bit and I couldn’t find anyone else as good). But they complete my face in a way I never thought possible.

Finding the right expert is key though I think…

Mine haven't been touched in 6 years and have faded fine
