Tell me about your microblading emotional rollercoaster

Love to read your microblading emotional rollercoaster.

I had my done 2.5 days ago. First 36 hours I absolutely hated them. They looked 'Kardashian's like, really blocky and oh so dark. I just felt like I had kylie Jenner style eyebrows which is not the natural look I was seeking. I wanted them to balance my features not be an statement brow.

I'm 2.5 days in and slightly happier. Covering them with glasses all day has helped significantly!!

Can anyone else let me know how they felt at various points on the healing process.

Yes - the lines are just tattooed around them

Tell me about the bephathen? My lady said to use the ointment if they feel itchy but try not to use anything as I'm a little oily to avoid if possible. But maybe I misunderstood?

Also do you put sunscreen on? Again I'm sure she said that too - but in the post treatment shock I'm not sure if I understood?

She said some people heal better 'wet' and others 'dry.' She said Bepanthen was good to put on them but avoid all makeup for ten days. That was hard after the first treatment as they looked appalling when they scabbed.

AnduinsGirl · 19/10/2019 18:55

Oh and sunscreen wasn't mentioned at all!

Muffin3 · 19/10/2019 19:20

I love the thread tittle OP 🤣
Ride it out, the colour and brow shape will soften in the next week and you’l love them!
I work in a clinic where we microbalde, our advice is to keep them moist, wiping over with a soaked sterile cotton pad every couple of hours and applying a light layer of Vaseline. But I’d double check with where you had it done as everywhere gives different aftercare for their work

kmini · 19/10/2019 19:47

Its how I feel @muffin3 - ups and downs, shock and disappointment, glimmers of liking them. It's awful but I feel so much better after hearing all the advice

@ClientListQueen they look so natural- really nice.

Where did you get them done?

Have wanted to get my brows done for ages but always worry about it looking dark and unnatural as mine are uber fair naturally

ClientListQueen · 19/10/2019 23:49

@Ticklemeelmo they were done by Olivia Naylor in Manchester Smile (by her students and the top up by her)

Skinnymalinksmalogenlegs · 19/10/2019 23:57

I went for a consultation yesterday. I only have one eyebrow at the moment due to a really stressful year this year. The Dr said it might never grow back and its a type of alopecia. I also lost half my eyelashes on the same eye, the Dr said it happens in patches.

This started in February, no sign of either my eyebrow or eyelashes growing back so I decided to find out about microblading. I'm worried about the cost and if it's going to hurt a lot, but I think I need to do it. I work in retail, so I'm conscious that they look different, so hopefully this will help get my confidence back.

Ticklemeelmo · 20/10/2019 09:10

@ClientListQueen thank you Smile

Skinny I had mine done because of alopecia, it started about ten years ago with significant head hair loss and the brows followed gradually. The head hair came back within 18 months, the brows didn't. I have dark hair/pale skin and got so sick of having to draw them on every day (its really hard to get the position and shape right once the original brow has virtually gone). I spent 18 months researching practitioners, and persuading myself to do it but am so happy I've done it now.

ExpletiveDelighted · 20/10/2019 09:22

Mine was micropigmentation, tiny dots. It was uncomfortable rather than painful.

Aftercare was to wipe away any weepiness hourly using cooled boiled water and sterile gauze, then use a tattoo aftercare cream from 24 hours, no getting properly wet for 5 days, minimise direct sun exposure for 2 weeks then factor 50 ongoing. Mine didn't weep at all so I didn't need to wipe and didn't get any scabbing to speak of.

Swiftier · 20/10/2019 10:17

I’ve got mine done. They looked really dark for around a week and I did have moments of wondering what the hell I had done.... but once healed they looked great and I’m very happy with them. I had micro eyeliner too and it cost £850 in total (very good technician in London).

Skinnymalinksmalogenlegs · 20/10/2019 12:27

Thanks @ExpletiveDelighted. I have dark hair and like you say it's hard to match up your eyebrows. 😊

HEYSCPURT1 · 20/10/2019 15:47

Hi I have had my eyebrows tattooed for approx 7yrs and always gone to the same person and they have been great, last yr I went to another tattooist due to a offer being on for a yrly top up , my brows became lumpy , I paid to see a dermatologist who told me I have granulomas you cannot get rid of these lumps until all the ink is out so I am now going through a lengthy procedure to get all the ink out from my skin

LER83 · 20/10/2019 17:18

I had mine done in July, then top up a few weeks ago. The scabs have recently all fallen off and the colour is starting to come back, I love them! The worst for me was not getting them wet, found that really hard. They really scabbed over after the top up, and they looked really patchy, so I was quite worried, but they look so much better now! The colour is quite a lot lighter, and the lines have blurred a bit, but I have oily skin so knew they wouldn't be as crisp as some.

raspberryk · 20/10/2019 17:38

The worst part for me was when it looked like I had zero brows... and now over 2 years down the line I want them done again and can't afford it.

Jencrewe28 · 20/10/2019 19:06

Hi, I've had mine done but I am also a microblading technician. The full healing process takes 28 days. So they will fade at first whilst the pigment gets drawn into the skin, but then will resurface by 28 days. Try not to pick the scabs or get them wet. Have they offered you a touch up appointment 6-8 weeks after the initial treatment to make any alterations? If you Google microblading healing process that should give you an idea as well. Ive tried to upload a pic of mine but it won't let me. Hope this helps xx

KatieP410 · 20/10/2019 20:32

Hello lovely, so glad to see your post on here! I had my eyebrows microbladed just over 2 weeks ago and they seem to have completely disappeared. I stuck to all the aftercare advice and can still see some strokes and colour under the skin. I've read that they can take a couple more weeks to reappear, is that right? I'm so gutted as had such high hopes for microblading! I have my top up booked for November. Thank you in advance!! Xx

BrizzleMaverick · 20/10/2019 20:41

I had mine done in July and a top up at the beginning of September, total cost £250.

I went to Bristol Brow Embroidery, which you can find on Instagram and Facebook.

I did not feel any pain on the initial treatment but a little on the top up but subsided quickly once anaesthetic cream kicked in.

Very pleased with mine.

kmini · 23/10/2019 13:58

Being rather self obsessive here. Day 7 today - little scabby, patchy in parts, lighter than when first done but still very dark (albeit lighter than when 1st had them done, though I'm not sure I can even really tell anymore!). My DS said this morning- your eyebrows still look scary Blush.

Experts. Is this normal? Thank you

Swiftier · 23/10/2019 14:37

Mine got lighter after around 10 days and then the colour settled over the next month. Actually, they got lighter once the scabs came off so if yours are scabbing and patchy now it’s only a couple more days to go til they look much lighter. Don’t worry!

kmini · 23/10/2019 17:18

Thanks @Swiftier - I just keep worrying I'm always going to look like someone with slightly scary brows Grin

I had mine done and I love them. Someone did ask me if they were microbladed as they were so perfect.
