Where can I buy children's clothes in my size???

Sort of joking, but I love my DD's wardrobe. She is a very stylish 4yo, I must say Smile.
I love all the bright colours, comfy swing dresses in sustainable, natural fibres, cosy wool tights, fun printed leggings, jumper dresses and dungarees

Does anyone make these things for grown women? When I go into shops in my home town, (which I have to admit is not the best place to shop, so maybe I'm missing out on something obvious), it's all tailoring, pointy shoes and Fat Face.

I know dungarees are everywhere, but I really wish there was a shop which just sold children's clothes in adult sizes.

Thinking about it, men's and boys' clothes seem to be mainly interchangeable apart from the size 🤔.

Does anywhere do something like this for women? Smile.

I'm quite small, size 8 to 10. The age 13 swamped me though. It was a lovely fluffy pink jumper Blush

MariahDontCarey · 11/10/2019 14:59

Ooooh so maybe the bigger teen sizes might do! I'll have a look. Thanks!

As a short size 10 I can fit into the largest kids sizes in a lot of ranges (and with size 4 feet have a great choice of trainers) depending on style. Just check out the size guides, e.g. Boden size 15-16 is slightly smaller than their size 10, JL age 14 looks like an 8.

SteelRiver · 11/10/2019 15:00

I think Seasalt do jersey dresses. Might be worth a look.

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2019 15:30

My sister works with a woman who has size 4 feet and recently bought herself trainers with the flashy lights on. She switches them off during the day but loves having them on in the dark. :o

MariahDontCarey · 11/10/2019 15:31

Oh no, I'm nowhere near an 8 and I have a large frame. Even at just above underweight, I was still a 10/12! And I'm quite tall, with size 7 feet. I don't think going down the children's clothes route will work for me, sadly.

But I flipping LOVE the Duns adult tops and dresses! How did I not see those before?!

Also now need a pair of Lucy & Yak dungarees... I might even buy them new, seeing as some people are paying as much for them secondhand with massive tears in them as they are new on the L&Y website Confused. I had sworn I wouldn't buy any NEW new clothes for a while, but those are so nice and so comfy looking!

Popsy clothing do cute dresses for both wee girls and grown ups.

Tigerbandage · 11/10/2019 15:35

Following, I love kids clothes
I’m 5ft 7 and size 6/8
I find next massive 15-16 is way too big on me but 13-14 sometimes the sleeves are too short
H&M 14+ fits me ok sometimes
And primark now do 14-15

MikeUniformMike · 11/10/2019 15:39

I want Lucy & Yak dungarees but it has to be only one of the styles. I didn't like the printed ones at all, and I'm not keen on the current plain colours. On 2nd hand sites they go for very nearly what they are on the company's site. Not sure why.

Their pinafores don't have side pockets so of no use to me and I have more pinafores than I can wear.
Monki is quite good for jumpsuits an pinafores.

Lovemusic33 · 11/10/2019 15:40

Minimum mouse do lovely pinafores with dinosaurs and other things on them, they do dungarees too 🤣

I have worn kids clothes from Next as they go up to age 16 (I’m a size 10-12 and age 16 fits).

sheshootssheimplores · 11/10/2019 15:40

I’m dressed as a child today. Striped long johns, wool socks, frilly petticoat and oversized linen dress. I find all this stuff in charity shops and wildly throw it together.

Where can I buy children's clothes in my size???
MikeUniformMike · 11/10/2019 15:42

ooh sheshoots show us the whole outfit. Thanks for the pic.

RavenLG · 11/10/2019 15:53

Same. But being plus size I'm shit out of luck with places on Etsy and independent stores lol. I'm learning to sew so I can make my own!

SpaceDinosaur · 11/10/2019 15:54

MY PEOPLE!!! 😂❤️

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2019 15:54

grin wax! I want to be friends with that woman.

From all accounts, choice of footwear aside, she's a bit of a cow so maybe not :o

MikeUniformMike · 11/10/2019 15:54

I was going to suggest Run and Fly but I really want the Lucy & Yak ones. I've got Gap denim dungas, short and long.

The thing with children's clothes is that a little girl is a different shape to an adult woman. You can either go for loose fitting shapes or styles adjusted for a woman's shape.

Zinnia · 11/10/2019 16:01

Next kids age 16 clothes fit a size 12 adult with ease (still regretting not buying a particular top of DD's in that size a couple of years back Grin)

FastandLoose · 11/10/2019 16:03

Duns definitely and Moromini and Bobo. Sugalhill Also do some lovely bright stuff. Molo go up to 176cm which easily fits most adults.

FastandLoose · 11/10/2019 16:03

Sugarhill

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2019 16:30

Loads of age 16 stuff in Next clearance section on-line as unsurprisingly there isn't a huge market in flowery smock dresses or pineapple leggings for 16 year olds :o

Might be worth a punt.

MikeUniformMike · 11/10/2019 17:00

Boden Johnnie b might be worth a look

Frangipane · 11/10/2019 17:08

I don't know anything about them but an ad for irisruby.com recently popped up on my Facebook feed and I was so struck by their funky, bright clothing, I bookmarked the site. It might have something you like.

MariahDontCarey · 11/10/2019 17:39

Thanks for all these.

I'm looking at Next at the mo. They have unicorn leggings in age 16! Have I gone too far? If so, I'm just joking... ahem. Unicorn leggings, as if...ahem.

Hell Bunny, Lindy Bop etc do fun prints on their dresses. Hot Chocolate Designs do amazing comfy shoes in quirky designs.
