Leather look leggings

I've woken up with the urge to buy some for winter to be worn with warm baggy jumpers and ankle boots.

Is this acceptable for someone approaching 40?

Oh FGS. I’m 50 and literally wouldn’t think twice. Go for it. Sounds like a lovely outfit.

Rainbowbrite11 · 07/10/2019 19:37

I love them but I'm not sure they will love me. I'm 38 but like to blend in rather than stand out. If I wasn't such a wimp I would.
Do it if you feel comfortable 😊

katienana · 07/10/2019 19:38

Go for it. Try coated jeans too, I love my River Island Molly ones. Only Jean's that actually stay black

Itsjustmee · 07/10/2019 20:56

That’s exactly my style
Spanx leather look leggings are the best ever
Expensive but they are worth it

ItsLeviOsanotLeviosA · 08/10/2019 07:15

Yep. Love mine, wear them with baggy jumpers, longline shirts, under dresses...so comfy and look much more out together than normal leggings. I’m 38.

I do have to make sure i get good coverage with the top though, cos, you know 🐫🦶🏻😬

Atalune · 08/10/2019 07:17

I’m 43 and love mine. Do it.

MariusJosipovic · 08/10/2019 07:20

I love mine. Also have some coated animal print ones from M&S that are my happy trousers. I absolutely love them. Together with chunky lace up boots and baggy knitted jumper it is my favourite outfit just now.

teta · 08/10/2019 10:17

I'm 56 and have just ordered some matte leather look leggings .To wear with a long v neck Cashmere jumper and black boots. I've tried the leather look jogger type trousers from h&m, but I felt like i was wearing a plastic bag. Plus they looked terrible on . I've also just ordered a pair of green suede look leggings from h&m to see his they look. I may well end up returning everything.

Bluntness100 · 08/10/2019 10:20

I'm fifty and was wearing mine at the weekend.

Anayah2019 · 08/10/2019 12:41

My 8 month daughter goes to bed at 8.30-9pm but still wakes at 1am and 5am she's been doing this since six months, also she is teething.. So is this normal and roughly when or if will she sleep all night without waking??

Anayah2019 · 08/10/2019 12:43

Sorry haha wrong area for post 😂

dontgobaconmyheart · 08/10/2019 13:10

Not sure why they wouldn't be OPConfused everyone wears them don't they? Go for it!
I've got a pair but never do with that said, they look nice but they feel so restrictive I can never make myself commit to wearing them out for days out or out for dinner etc

Pinkvici22 · 08/10/2019 14:57

I’m pushing 40 and also love them. Wear them ALL the time. Love them with slouchy jumpers, T-shirt’s with trainers and camo jacket, tops and blazers for a night out etc.

confusedmaybe · 08/10/2019 15:44

I have two pairs, and real leather leggings, plus leather trousers. No one has laughed at me wearing them. I must get them out now Autumn is becoming more winter

I8toys · 08/10/2019 18:49

Teta - I've just ordered a pair of the green suede ones.

teta · 11/10/2019 09:36

What do you think of them @18Toys?
I'm finding them quite stiff and restrictive but surprisingly good quality.
I'm returning them though because I don't like feeling encased !
The other ones I ordered are horribly plastic so they're going back too.
I will try the m&s coated leggings next. At least they are made from Viscose so should be comfortable on.
Any other suggestions for comfy leather look leggings?

imclaustrophobicdarren · 11/10/2019 12:31

Tip for shit quality ones, I have loads as I'm forever trying to find the perfect pair!

Wear tights under them, hides everything Wink

Elllllle · 11/10/2019 13:10

I have a pair of coated skinny jeans that I love from years ago. However all of the faux leather leggings I've tried have looked tacky and awful and REALLY unflattering. I think it's the shine factor.

notasgreenasiamcabbagelooking · 11/10/2019 15:49

I've just bought the Spanx ones and as far as leggings go, they hold me in quite well. But they're still leggings and not so flattering on my size 10-12 saddlebags. I think they'll be going back.

championquartz · 11/10/2019 15:54

Stop with the boxing yourself into age. It's nonsense.

I'd love a pair. But I'm the same as you @notasgreenasiamcabbagelooking - they are not forgiving on my saddlebags. Boo.

teta · 11/10/2019 18:23

I'm planning on wearing them with a long Cashmere tunic and knee length or otk boots. Any saddlebags will not be seen.

I8toys · 11/10/2019 19:12

Teta - they are a bit baggy on me - I like them with long boots as I have long legs and they are half way up my calf. I like the texture and colour.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 13/10/2019 07:28

Well over 50 here and wouldn't think twice. I like the contrast of chunky jumper and faux leather.

teta · 13/10/2019 09:15

I really like the M&S ones . They're surprisingly sturdy and really good value with the current 20% off. They actually fit very well.
I've just ordered the coated animal print ones too. As they are fast selling out.

ChickenyChick · 13/10/2019 09:17

Aren't they really hot and sweaty?! That would bother me
