Hi guys,
I love browsing the what are you wearing today thread but being plussize (Size 26) I often can't take inspiration from it. I wondered if any other size 18+ would like to share what they are wearing today?

Size 18 here. I never find trousers that work well for work, however I've found quite a few recently from Per Una that are a jeans type style but made from more acceptable black material for work so just look like black trousers if you don't see the pockets etc ... love'rm'
They also are stretchy so fit my size 18.5 arse and tummy into an 18 size Grin

custardbear · 08/10/2019 13:22

... also does anyone else find that Evans clothes fall to bits in a matter of weeks?

StCharlotte · 08/10/2019 13:27

22custardbear

Can't remember the last time I bought anything in Evans. So much of it is just nasty.

Love this thread! Trying to make an effort most days, but on mat leave and so tempting to throw on old leggings and longline jumpers each day (which is what I'm wearing today!)

Also needing to wear low necks/v-necks or stretchy tops/dresses for breastfeeding. But normally I hate lower cut necklines and I don't think they suit me. I'd love to wear Seasalt dresses and tunics but most necklines are high and not breastfeeding friendly.

Someone previously mentioned Popsy which is a recent discovery for me. They're lovely and I enjoy the dresses, but they are a little cheap (cheaply made) and all polyester I think. Love Snag tights.

Size 18 right now, 5'9" height.

RooKangaroo · 08/10/2019 15:57

@ABCDE12344, I love your dress today!

peachgreen · 08/10/2019 16:00

@ABCDE12344 you look amazing, those boots are knockout! Are they comfortable?

ABCDE12344 · 08/10/2019 17:01

Thank you! @peachgreen mega comfy!

Does anyone know what mango plus size stuff is like? Is it true to size? I'm about to order a few things but I haven't bought from them before.

TateWorm · 08/10/2019 18:12

Bootcut jeans from Curvissa (does anyone else find them small in sizing or is it just me? I've had to size up in everything I've bought from them other than the undies) and a top from Peacocks I've had for ages. It's a weird print and stretchy but a nice long one which I need as I have a tall upper body and a belly I like to cover.

I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned it but there’s a very cool US brand called Universal Standard. They don’t ship to the UK yet but they are going to apparently- I have my eye on a jumpsuit they do. (Plus they use real women in their advertising). I’m a size 18 and I’m wearing a very long black pleated skirt from M&S and a short black Finery dress over the top. I shop a lot in charity shops but buy new from Cos, Arket, M&S, Weekday and ASOS Curve.

StCharlotte · 08/10/2019 18:50

Violeta (Mango plus size range) is true to size in my experience.

I’m in Ireland and am getting euro pricing via their .com site. Pricing is pretty high. Just saw a black vest top for €52 and a lot of t-shirt style tops are €95+.

But this is very interesting (though only available in the US)

Today I’ve worn a tunic top from mistral in navy with blue and vaguely mustard pattern that I got last year, with navy Sainsbury’s leggings and tan boots. Well I’ve worked from home and wearing mainly red and green stripes fluffy Christmas socks to keep my feet warm, but they’re not really for going out in. I’m size 18

Divebar · 09/10/2019 06:00

@Defeatthedebt

Yeah when I look I get UK prices too. The problem is the exchange rate is so awful the price is almost the same as the $ price. ( the $ is about 1.2 to the £ ) What I would say is Universal Standard is a “cool” brand.... it’s not exclusively plus sized. There’s no reason why cool brands can’t make bigger sizes they just choose not to. If stores just made a selection of bigger sizes there would be no need for specialist plus size brands to begin with. What I like about them also is they show you the product in every size so you can see what it will look like in your size.

WinterRose92 · 09/10/2019 06:11

Size 18 - 20 here. Today I’ll be wearing my grey ‘Girlfriend’ jeans from Sainsbury’s - comfiest jeans ever, I also have them in blue. Quite flattering too. A black ribbed long sleeved top from Boohoo and a black pair of boots (wide calf) I got from Amazon a few years back.

thunderthighsohwoe · 09/10/2019 06:30

Size 16 here, but 18 thighs and tummy. Wearing black Boohoo smock dress, black tights (M&S - would LOVE Snag but can’t afford) and ankle boots.

Possibly the plainest, least stylish outfit on here but I’m a teacher so clothes need to be cheap and interchangeable!

The baby just had explosive poo though, so am hoping I won’t be putting on an outfit just to have to leave work to collect her from nursery later.....

Violetroselily · 09/10/2019 07:20

Size 20 here. I am wearing black skinny jeans, a black and white striped tee and ny black biker jacket. Dark red ballet flats.

Defeatthedebt · 09/10/2019 07:47

So I'm in the office today so I'm wearing a black and white polka dot tunic from Evans, trusty black leggings, silver vans (casual office) and a hound tooth long coat from yours. Trying to go for that clashing patterns look lol.

I've attempted to attach pictures!

I'm on the train. To work and am wearing black trousers from next, a greeny yellow (think they called the colour "larch" top from next and brown leather doc marten boots (not trad doc martens - they're more pointed shape with a zip up the back). Protected Species commuter coat in olive - that's a new purchase and I just for the 16-18 but I think it's cut big as I'm most definitely an 18 not a 16. I've recently got some nice tops from M&S of all places and also next. Need to get new trousers for work which I hate as I have a relatively narrow waist compared to my big tummy so always find it a struggle.

ilovetofu · 09/10/2019 08:33

ilovetofu · 09/10/2019 09:52
