Navy dress + navy tights + navy boots = too much?

I think it's probably too much navy to go with the dress.

But I'm not sure about black tights with that if I'm going to wear navy boots.

Or perhaps I should just wear black tights and black boots with it

Too much.

Navy tight and tan boots?

Not black with navy.

thetardis · 05/10/2019 15:17

turquoise tights.

Jumbojem · 05/10/2019 15:17

I wear dark grey tights with navy dresses. Mustard rights would look good if your brave. I also wear a burgundy pair of tights with navy dress.

DramaAlpaca · 05/10/2019 15:18

Nude tights. Not black or navy.

TattiePants · 05/10/2019 17:30

Definitely too much navy. I would either wear burgundy, grey, turquoise or green.

MrsPear · 05/10/2019 17:53

Be brave and wear colour - I have these tights and they come in a fabulous range of colours here

Ninkaninus · 05/10/2019 18:19

Too much for me.

Black tights and black shoes would be fine.

Natural tights and navy boots would be fine.

Navy tights and black boots would be fine.

Or burgundy, olive, tan boots with navy tights.

peachypetite · 05/10/2019 18:21

Far too matchy matchy

BestIsWest · 05/10/2019 18:44

I think it’s fine.

BrexitIsAShitShow · 05/10/2019 18:46

Tan boots

thetardis · 05/10/2019 18:57

given op obvs already has the navy boots and dress varying tights is clearly the way to go. burgundy isn't a colour i have space for but plum's not far off. plum tights!

which1 · 05/10/2019 23:15

I do have a pair of nude coloured tights actually as well as black ones.

Didn't think of that really. Confused

Love those tights MrsPear!

Branster · 05/10/2019 23:28

Natural tights if it is a smart fitted dress and smart boots.
If it is more of a fine knit flare dress or some casual affair like tunic style, charcoal or black tights would work.

weebarra · 05/10/2019 23:30

I'd go for grey or violet tights and a coloured necklace.

Burpee

I love the colour burgundy, but not sure I'm quite 'fashion forward' enough to wear them.

Branster
It's just a navy and white jumper dress, not fitted, and navy blue suede knee highs.

Ninkaninus · 06/10/2019 00:06

It’s not fashion forward to wear burgundy tights. If you love the colour you should definitely try it! Navy and burgundy are beautiful together and it goes so well with so many other colours for A/W.

Do it! Become the type of person who wears burgundy tights! Smile

Aprillygirl · 06/10/2019 00:59

Do you really need to wear tights? I would wear knee high socks under knee high boots.

MoltonSilver · 06/10/2019 01:03

Burgundy boots, or leopard print.

CountFosco · 06/10/2019 02:44

I wear all navy the whole time. No more boring than all black. And personally I think is a smarter look than brown boots and coloured tights. With a casual striped dress like you are describing I'd definitely not wear coloured tights, the boots sound fab so go for nude tights.

PenelopeFlintstone · 06/10/2019 02:59

The dress is navy and white stripes? Then navy tights and boots would be fine, wouldn’t it? Now we know that there are white stripes breaking it all up.

dudsville · 06/10/2019 06:57

Given the dress isn't just block navy but has white in it too you need to go either full on "fun with colour" or stick with nude tights or socks as pops have suggested.

Theinnerchild · 06/10/2019 07:14

Knee length boots and navy and white dress then navy tights will look fine. I agree coloured tights if it was all navy dress and ankle boots.

I’ve never seen black look good with navy though.

Baileystruffle · 06/10/2019 10:36

The rule I go with is match 2 of the 3 together out of skirt, tights and shoes. So either same colour dress and tights but different boots, or same colour tights and boots but different dress.
