Oh Rose that's so hard . I'm sure this has been explored but I believe different drugs suit different ppl and sometimes a lot of tweaking is necessary .

Ruby Wax ( I'm not familiar with her dx ) is quite vocal ( on most things ! ) on this .Credits her doctor with painstaking care to find correct meds for her .
She is of course lucky to have money to access care that may not be available to most .

Sympathies to you and sufferer Flowers

Here’s the link to the nhs website

That’s probably a question for the mental health thread @RoseQuartzGlow
In short, there is not one size fits all ad’s, there are talking therapies, cbt. ( I’m not expert)
However having met many people in RL who have a range of issues from mild depression onwards, I think destigmatising mental health is very important.

Only a generation ago, even Diana didn’t speak openly about her various mental health issues. Bulimia, possibly pnd, no doubt abandonment issues from her childhood. It only was touched on in books towards the end of her life.

Well mes amies, news from Sweden today is that Princess Madeleine's and PCP:s children are not to be royal highnesses any more. Gone from the lists! Press conference at noon.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/10/2019 10:39

Ooh interesting. Any reason given?
Do they keep the Prince / Princess title?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/10/2019 10:41

Sorry answer in link ( I assumed it was in Swedish) Blush

banivani · 07/10/2019 10:45

After me going to all the trouble of clicking "English" and linking for you. ;) Speculations only on reasons so far, press think the reason is to give the kids a "normal life". Estelle and Oscar won't be having the pleasure of course.

BlingLoving · 07/10/2019 11:09

I hope it's a translation issue as the way it's written it doesn't sound very friendly! Grin. "The King has decided" "They will no longer enjoy".

I'm pretty sure it's just the way it comes across in the translation but it did make me smile!

But it makes sense - the family was getting pretty darn big!

Ninkaninus · 07/10/2019 11:21

I expect it’s meant to be closer to ‘will no longer benefit from...’.

paradyning · 07/10/2019 11:41

Why didn't they just do that from birth? Seems odd to take it away.

Ninkaninus · 07/10/2019 11:42

Perhaps Madeleine and Chris hadn’t properly considered the long term issues it might throw up.

BertrandRussell · 07/10/2019 11:57

“Prince Alexander (Duke of Södermanland), Prince Gabriel (Duke of Dalarna), Princess Leonore (Duchess of Gotland), Prince Nicolas (Duke of Ångermanland) and Princess Adrienne (Duchess of Blekinge) ”

Now those are proper names for princes and princesses. Aurora and Rosebud would fit right in!

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/10/2019 11:59

I wonder what the point of them having titles at all is then? If they're going to be private citizens then it might be best not to burden them with Prince and Princess.

OP posts:
BlingLoving · 07/10/2019 12:04

I agree Queen.

I think it just seems odd. Like when they're born it's assumed they'll "work" as royals and now the decision has been taken to change that? And that goes for the younger siblings and not just the next generation.

The press conference might explain more.

margotsdevil · 07/10/2019 12:12

I read it that they will be known as dukes and duchesses and lose the prince(ss) title...

Ninkaninus · 07/10/2019 12:24

They will retain their prince and princess-hoods, and will retain their titles of duke or duchess. They will no longer be Royal Highnesses, and they will not carry out royal duties on behalf of the royal household.

banivani · 07/10/2019 12:30

Now those are proper names for princes and princesses. Aurora and Rosebud would fit right in!

Grin Sadly I could not watch the press conference because am working. Not even for you.

Yeah they won't get paid by the tax payer basically but will have to work, but then oth won't be expected to carry out royal duties.

I don't think they thought of these things when they started popping sprogs, but have only gradually worked it out. Tabloid paper Expressen says that it started when Madeleine had children, when opinion in the court was divided on whether child should be royal or private person.

I think it makes sense that they keep their titles, it also fits with general Swedish way of it being impossible to revoke a positive decision ;) But they can't pass them on. THey'll have to marry their cousins ;)

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/10/2019 12:34

Madeleine's husband turned down a title didn't he?

OP posts:
banivani · 07/10/2019 12:36

Yup, the little Republican that he no doubt is ;)

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/10/2019 12:43

Don't Madeleine and her family live in the UK or US now?

OP posts:
Ninkaninus · 07/10/2019 12:46

They lived in London for a year or two. I think they live in Miami at the moment. And I presume they might maintain a home in New York as well.

BlingLoving · 07/10/2019 12:58

Isn't Madeleine the one that already works or consults or something in between more or less being a SAHM? I'm sure I read this somewhere (probably on this thread).

ajandjjmum · 07/10/2019 13:04

It makes our own Royal Family look very sensible, in not handing out titles willy-nilly, on the birth of a new child. Or in the case of the Wessexes, not using the full title to which the child is entitled.

Ninkaninus · 07/10/2019 13:05

She works with the World Childhood Foundation that Silvia founded some years ago. I believe she’s also founded her own charitable foundation.

PinkSun9 · 07/10/2019 13:42

Princess Madeleine's tiara in the picture on the above website is absolutely gorgeous... huge gemstones ! She looks so stunning in blue.
