What a wonderful speech by Meghan. She is so warm and Harry looks so proud.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 02/10/2019 11:16

I really like the shirt dresses aMeghan has been wearing of late.
I’m a ( fat) Apple and also have long legs. I avoid waist belts like the plague.
I wonder if she could wear it loosely belted on the hips. Bit 80s I know, but it would help with the proportions.

DevonUkelele · 02/10/2019 11:25

@Ninkaninus on so much of that we can agree.

I wear stuff I like, often because I feel it suits me and it looks good. I think the three are intertwined.

If I want to wear a jumpsuit I will do so whether I’m a stone over my ideal or not.

On this, in particular, we must definitely agree because I have just ordered a jumpsuit, inspired by Meghan in her black Everlane number the other day.

I am, broadly (pun very much intended), the same shape as her - although, as I have said before, considerably older and dumpier (and at least a stone over my ideal).

But if it looks half good and I like it, I will wear it - and I'd stand up for anyone's right to do the same.

itswinetime · 02/10/2019 11:47

The white dress is one of her better belted dress but still not a favourite style of mine. 🤷🏻‍♀️

As for the legal action yes they are getting positive press at the moment but for how long? How long till the decide to turn on Meghan again? No they can't force people to like them and I don't think that's what they are trying to know. They are trying to stop the flood of fake/inaccurate stories being written and then the people are free to make up their own minds.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/10/2019 11:50

That looks like a white version of her cornflower blue shirt dress. I wonder if it's by the same designer?

queenofarles · 02/10/2019 11:53

It’s a bit tight on the hips, but like how it’s styled.

DevonUkelele · 02/10/2019 11:54

I thought the same @Queen, but I much prefer the blue one 🤷‍♀️. TBF, the white seems to be another that looks better in real life - in some of the footage I've seen, it has a lovely kind of sheen and it moves nicely. The hemline is nice too.

Ninkaninus · 02/10/2019 12:11

In other Royal News, the Danish Parliament has granted CPM power of regency in Queen Margrethe’s absence, allowing her to act as head of state if the Queen is not present in Denmark.

RomaineCalm · 02/10/2019 12:15

I'm not a fan of the white dress. I am however in awe of anyone that can wear all white since my current record is about 27 minutes before I'm covered in muck, food or random marks that appear from nowhere.

My ranking of the shirt style dresses would be 1. Green 2. Cornflower blue 3. White 4 Beige trench-coat

The navy dress with the red shoes was so, so much nicer than any of those.

DevonUkelele · 02/10/2019 12:22

Meanwhile, in London, Kate's back in her favourite cut - although this one's a bit longer than usual.

Love the colour on her.

Actually that’s not quite correct - I expect she would be able to act as proxy for the Queen in any event (for example if the Queen is on holiday but present in Denmark). However in practice I think it generally only happens when the Queen is abroad.

Disfordarkchocolate · 02/10/2019 12:26

That is a fabulous colour on Catherine, it's quite formal though (to me).

HerculesMulligan · 02/10/2019 12:26

I love the green belt on the teal dress. Really interesting combination of colours.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 02/10/2019 12:30

I quite like the white dress. I think what I like most of all is her willingness to wear clothes she likes, to stick to the colours she loves, to not conform to a certain length/pastels/formality. It makes her clothes far more interesting to follow. And many will disagree and say it’s irrelevant but I like her current figure. She looks absolutely gorgeous with a few pounds more than she had when she married. I really hope she doesn’t lose weight. As always the first thing noticed is how beautiful she is, her clothes are secondary. Not many people can say that.

BertrandRussell · 02/10/2019 12:31

I love the teal dress- but what’s the event? Looks very formal for a morning thing...

AdaColeman · 02/10/2019 12:31

Or perhaps she got dressed in the dark Hercules! Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/10/2019 12:31

Are Kate and William at the Aga Khan Centre already? I thought that was an evening event.

OP posts:
Doyoureallyneedtoask · 02/10/2019 12:32

Is that daywear for Kate? It’s a nice colour but more evening wear?

AppleKatie · 02/10/2019 12:33

Kate is looking super formal there - nice though

Ninkaninus · 02/10/2019 12:33

Good interview with Joachim and Marie (in English).

m.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z7HQS7XsPI

I think the SWF thing is really unfair - it’s not her fault she happens to look similar to Mary; it’s not like she was blonde and buxom to begin with and has creepily morphed into a carbon copy of Mary!

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/10/2019 12:37

Apparently it is the Aga Khan event, no idea why I thought that was an evening thing! The colour is nice but I find the cut a little dull. I like her shoes though, I think they might be a really deep shade of green.

Joachim could pass as British couldn't he? His accent is as cut-glass as his mother's.

OP posts:
DevonUkelele · 02/10/2019 12:37

Yes, the Aga Khan Centre do.

The dress is reportedly by ARossGirl - another label I haven't heard of. And it's £825 😲. Beyond my budget, but rather lovely nonetheless.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/10/2019 12:38

Random fact about the Aga Khan - his stepmother was Rita Hayworth!

DevonUkelele · 02/10/2019 12:41

X-post @Queen Smile.

I think the accessories (shoes, clutch) are a very dark green. There was another pic that showed them. I actually wondered if silver might be better - but I suppose it's only noon or so in London, maybe for later in the day.

UrsulaPandress · 02/10/2019 12:49

Love that colour on Kate. And I like the length.
