Very powerful statement by Harry indeed.

Back to the clothes and I really haven't liked anything that she's worn. Nothing seems comfortable but think it might be because of the 'stiffness' of the fabric that pp's have suggested. She looks beautiful though - no denying that at all.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 01/10/2019 22:11

That red dress is gorgeous!

frugalkitty · 01/10/2019 22:14

Love that red dress!

That red dress is gorgeous.

Good on H&M for fighting back. The Mail's coverage has been a disgrace.

Leti looks fab, she didn't skip biceps day!

This may be of interest to some.

I love Leti's red dress - she looks amazing!

Well done to Harry for speaking up and so eloquently.
In the space of 2 years Meghan has moved country, married into the fishbowl that is the royal family, changed career, had a baby and undertaken overseas tours. These are all major life changes for anyone.
I know they have a lovely life of luxury and ease beyond anything most of us could imagine, but Harry's comment about people becoming commoditised to the point where the press forget they are real people is a stark reminder of what happened to Diana.

StCharlotte · 01/10/2019 22:34

Leti looks stunning as per.

Mathilde needs a bloody good haircut. It would transform her.

DevonUkelele · 01/10/2019 22:44

Why should one dress to show off one’s best features?

Why shouldn't one? I usually (not always, mind) try to dress in a way that I feel makes me look good because it makes me feel better about myself. I thought most people would prefer to look good 🤔.

Otherwise, why fashion at all?

Leti is another who always looks fab, IMHO. Especially in red.

I'm also in the minority not wowed by the teal Jenny Peckham. The colour's great, but the "sheets on sheets" curtain pic nailed it (Also, IMHO).

Agree with the general sentiment re today's green on Meghan. Funny how two dresses so similar - if you had to describe them in a handful of words - can look so different. For me, the green gets over the line, just - because better colour, not so fitted, single breasted.

She does love that belted look though - on coats, dresses, tops.

DevonUkelele · 01/10/2019 22:47

"Sheers on sheers"

Dammit!

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/10/2019 22:51

That picture of the curtains has ruined Kate's teal Packham for me. I'll never look at it the same way again Grin

I wonder what she'll wear tomorrow? I don't think she'll go full gown but I think it'll be something with sleeves and possibly a brighter colour.

Wow big day today. Just catching up after a looong day.

I agree the colour of Meghans first dress wasn’t to my taste, it improved from there both the dress and the DM slamming.

I think the press are asking to be put in their place tbh. And Harry’s sentiments are entirely unsurprising.

Leti’s red dress is stunning.

StartupRepair · 02/10/2019 00:52

I have learner from these threads that almost every colouring looks good in strong red.

TipseyTorvey · 02/10/2019 06:48

I totally think suing the papers is the right thing to do, because they're vile racist thugs and I sincerely hope they get soundly beaten in submission because nothing they say about her is 'news', it's blatantly been a campaign to destroy her. However I agree with pp that the timing wasn't perfect. The coverage of South Africa was so positive, even a week or two to allow that to breathe would have been better I think but I'm not a barrister so maybe they know something I don't about more stuff coming up.

WineOrGinOrBoth · 02/10/2019 07:08

Leti looks fabulous in those pics.

I worry that H&M suing will be make the media worse. But they will have received good legal advice & I'm certain must have spoken to HM & Charles first.

Success!

BlingLoving · 02/10/2019 07:28

Reading the statement it's clear they are going after the Mail for copyright infringement but also for a long-standing campaign against her. The comment that her letter was edited to change the meaning is a compelling one. I am not sure of the legalities directly but certainly the media have an obligation to report factually so I think this will be a very strong part of the argument. A publication that misquotes a source (written or spoken) will be in dire straights and if they edited the letter, this would be a problem.

It sounds like their argument will be that the letter was not edited to change meaning. But I suspect Schillings will argue that not only is that not true, it's not relevant. The reporter's job is to present facts and not to edit those facts for the reader.

Timing is odd though. I would have done it Thursday and opened with a line about having returned from the trip blah blah.

Let's looks great. I feel like I don't often see her hair all soft like that? Is it my imagination?

BlingLoving · 02/10/2019 07:34

Also I think they are saying Meghan has the original. Which might also explain Thomas markle's silence - I assume she would have had to get it from him?

FelicityFlutterby · 02/10/2019 07:48

TipseyTorvey

A thousand times YES about the way the tabloids have spoken about her. Racist thugs sums it up nicely. I sincerely hope they lose a fuck tonne of money. The only way to teach people like that a lesson is to go after their money / assets and I hope they lose as much as they possibly can. I also think anyone who blindly believes this crap is a complete fool who is probably a little racist themselves. 'Non white woman in the RF must be up to no good' mentality. Foul.

Sorry, I'm ranting a bit, but this makes me so cross.

frugalkitty · 02/10/2019 07:52

Startup when I had my colours done years ago, we were told that red is the colour that everyone can wear....it just needs to be the right red. So for me, as a summer, I need blue based reds like blood red or cherry, but the warm seasons need a different shade like scarlet that's warmer (yellow based, I think).

I still like the teal Jenny Packham, but then I'm a huge fan of this one and seem to recall from previous threads that not many others of you are Grin

banivani · 02/10/2019 07:58

I too feel a bit meh about the Packham dress - it might have been because the style has been copied so many times it now just looks like a prom dress to me. But I'm definitely going to use the curtain analogy!

Oi listen up folks, haven't we talked on these threads before about how ALL the royals wear shoes a size too big - it's a Royal Thing? I remember thinking, at the time, how the hell do they walk in them?

Would love to see the tabloids ripped apart by a court, but who knows.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/10/2019 07:59

@frugalkitty that Bond premiere dress was a bit of a departure for her but IIRC it was a bit too chilly an evening to forego a bra!

pmk, finding the word 'bröllops' from Swedish link upthread very amusing..

FelicityFlutterby · 02/10/2019 08:00

I love the Jenny Packham and the one just posted by frugal too. I love a bit of floatiness!

Letizia of Spain looks amazing in that red dress too.

StCharlotte · 02/10/2019 08:03

52frugalkitty I do like that one.
