Looking for black leather trainers, to wear with trousers but also ideally to wear with opaque tights and dresses/skirts.

Any ideas please, oh wise women of MN?

That's a shame about the Puma.

Fishnets - I wear black or nude micro or black ones with the big holes. I think all of those look nice with a midi and white trainers, and think they'd work with black ones too. Tbh though, I don't care if anybody else thinks I look an utter loon in them - I like them! :)

My ideal would be black Stan but with a white sole, but not sure they exist!

They do exist, I had a pair last year. Unfortunately though, they didn’t work for me. I don’t know what it was exactly. The way the sole was connected to the upper part was different to the way my white Stan smiths are. I didn’t enjoy wearing the black ones and could never wait to get home to take them off. I ended up giving them to the charity shop. It’s weird because I lived in my white Stan smiths for 3 years solid.

Thanks May. Weird that they felt so different.

I saw these black Stan Smiths with white soles, but with a red bit! Have seen them without the red bit too before

And these in the kids section:

Also the same in adult sizes:

Not fully black though

Following with interest, as I’m after the same thing.

Love Air Force Ones but they’re not quite what I want. I’d like a hi-top preferably, all or mostly black (no white) and that feels light and soft. A41s are quite heavy.

MayFayner · 03/10/2019 20:17

Remus turns out I am a bit thick. I’ve just looked up my order for the black Stan Smiths from Adidas because I wanted to see if it had a photo of them so I could show you.

There’s no photo but the order does describe them as “Stan Smith New Bold Shoes”, which a quick google shows to be different to normal Stan Smiths. See the extra white bit above the white sole? That’s what I was talking about. Please carry on with normal Stan Smiths and ignore the ramblings of a woman who doesn’t even know what shoes she owns Blush

I'm enjoying your ramblings anyway, May!

Deffo want leather, not suede - would be more durable.

That's why I want a white sole, I think.

Gazelles don't for me very well for some reason.

I just bought these Black Air Force 1s with a white sole for £47.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/10/2019 21:25

They're really nice, Artie.

Did you get any trainers Remus?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/10/2019 19:45

Not yet. Not managed to track any black Stan down in real life yet.

Have fallen in love with a pair of Paul Smiths, which I absolutely can't afford!

I think a white sole looks much better- the all black look like workwear worn by nurses and supermarket assistants etc.

Something like this?
