Adrian Valencia an illustrator I spotted on Twitter.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/09/2019 22:25

@justasking111 I'm watching Suits on Prime. Really enjoying it actually! Just ending Season 6.

All of the women on there have fab clothes. Lots of glamour, lovely hair and some of the dresses and shoes are beautiful.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 28/09/2019 22:51

@mytinyfiredancers I watched the last episode of Suits yesterday. It is utterly and wonderfully bonkers to the bitter end.

JaimeBronde · 28/09/2019 22:57

Wedding guests are Victoria Beckham (pregnant with Harper) then Beatrice but not sure about the other two, Zara in the blue maybe?

The illustrations have an early 1960s/Mad Men/Vintage Babycham advert vibe. Like the photos above.

Samantha Cameron at the front in the ruched turquoise dress, is it Tara Palmer Tomkinson in the blue? Although she wasn't as blonde as that

itswinetime · 28/09/2019 23:29

It certainly matches Tara Palmer Tomkinson's outfit wise I'm not to sure on her hair colour at the time but I agree that looks a little to blonde for her.

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/09/2019 23:35

The hair colour isn't right but that's definitely poor TPT in that hat.

Yes the blue is Tara P-T

StCharlotte · 29/09/2019 01:32

Well I went to Buck House today and I had an Irish grandfather so I'm in Grin

Curly did you notice those portraits of the young Victoria - absolute image of (our) Princess Beatrice.

StCharlotte · 29/09/2019 01:32

Resisted the tiara.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/09/2019 02:52

@StCharlotte
Yes, I did. Beatrice is absolutely the spit of young Queen Victoria.
I loved all the portraits of Victoria and her young family.

I also loved the portraits of Edward VII and Alexandra and Queen Mary and George V.
Thanks to these threads, I recognised so much more and got loads out of my visit.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/09/2019 03:10

I loved Suits, I started watching it in 2015, mainly for HarveySpecter Blush. I also thought Louis Litt was hilarious!

Looking back, Meghan’s early marriage wardrobe channelled a lot of Rachel Zane. I think when Meghan is back to work and back to get pre-pregnancy size; we’ll see some rewears of her early marriage outfits.
These are some of my favourites.

Meghan’s meeting with South African activists

I must way; this trip has been really well organised.
The press have followed Harry to Botswana and Angola and reported live on his engagements.
Meghan has been working on her sphere of interests; privately and just released the oddphoto, and it has been timed not to detract from Harry’s work. Whoever is currently doing the PR is doing an excellent job.

I agree with many PP this trip has a different feel, without any of the awkwardness of previous trips. MM seems so relaxed and so sincere and committed to the causes, it is quite inspiring in some ways. She
also looks amazing. a great choice of clothes.

TipseyTorvey · 29/09/2019 07:18

MM definitely looks better in sleek silhouettes. I'm still hankering after &otherstories green silk shirt but it's been sold out ever since she wore it and I can't find another in that shade of Meghan green.

Agree also they've handled this trip way better and far less showy. Wonder if they'll eventually move there permanently once the queen dies. If they do slim the monarchy down and Kate has another that moves Harry down to what, eighth?

BertrandRussell · 29/09/2019 07:38

It seems a bit odd to be saying her clothes are more suitable on this trip. They are just the same sort of things she’s worn to similar sort of events in the U.K. She’d get plenty of stick if she wore a cotton frock to the Trooping of the Colour! And if there had been any sort of state banquet in SA I’m sure she would have pulled out all the stops.....

DevonUkelele · 29/09/2019 07:45

Maybe that's the thing - there's been lots of fairly casual events on this trip. And I think we mostly agree, that's where Meg's wardrobe shines.

So lots of casual events (or, at least, less formal) = winning on the clothing front. Plus, she's not pregnant this time and having to accommodate that - or at least, most likely not.

I think they declared early there wouldn't be a formal dinner. certainly no tiara, but probably not even anything evening wear - is there even a cocktail do/drinks reception on this tour? Or is it all connecting with the folk? - which they probably kind of felt they needed to do.

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/09/2019 08:03

@TipseyTorvey I saw the green shirt in Stories just the other week so have a look again!

Meghan has looked good on this tour but I thought she looked pretty good on the Oz tour last year too.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 29/09/2019 08:26

It’s definitely back in stock.

Type silk shirt in the search box.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 29/09/2019 08:27

Also, Marks have a linen one in the same green, it’s oversized though.

Spudlet · 29/09/2019 08:36

I think when she has had difficulty, it's been for the formal daytime events - which is not surprising really, as not many people have to dress for those sorts of events on a regular basis, plus she had the additional challenge of a rapidly changing pregnant body to manage! I seem to recall that Kate took a while to find her mojo with those sorts of things now and definitely channelled posho wedding guest a bit too hard in her early Duchess days (imo at least) before settling on her uniform which ok, is coatdress-tastic and not to my taste but is recognisably Duchessy at least. Not that Meghan ever looks bad but she hasn't always seemed comfortable (possibly she genuinely wasn't, what with pregnancy which made me feel terribly ungainly and uncomfortable!).

She always does good smart-casual, casual, and evening formal - it's the daytime formal that can be a bugger. Honestly I think a lot of people would struggle with that though - I would!

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/09/2019 08:56

Last couple of days of the tour involves Meghan joining Harry via Skype for a discussion at ACU in Jo'burg (not sure why Skype) and then they have 3 events on their last day, culminating in an audience with the president of SA. So there should be plenty for us to see style-wise!

And then the Cambridges are off to Pakistan in 2 weeks time.
