As always, let's critique the clothes and not the wearers.

Max, Mathilde and Rania have been visiting the UN. Has Max had a haircut?

And I have no idea who the lady in the turban is but she looks incredible!

Sheikha Moza bint Nassar apparently - she’s from Quatar. Very elegant!

Harry doing the land mine walk today. Terrible that this is still such a problem so many years later.

megletthesecond · 27/09/2019 09:16

yy spud. I just did a double take that they were still clearing the mines. Heaven knows why I thought it would all be resolved by now.

banivani · 27/09/2019 09:24

Have to catch up!

Harry is manspreading something terrible there isn't he in his - I don't think safari chic so much as ex army chic maybe? outfit. ;) Love the sign! All I know about Botswana is from the Ladies Detective Agency books (I know, I know....) but that fits right in to what I'd expect.

ajandjjmum · 27/09/2019 09:29

You can only imagine the thoughts Harry was having, as he walked in his mother's footsteps.

In the same outfit - hence the relevance to this thread!

Spudlet · 27/09/2019 10:07

Oh wait 'til I tell you - it was -1 this morning here, maybe 0 degrees at a push. I passed a woman wearing cropped trousers and bare feet in black espadrille wedges. shock She''ll catch her death she will.

Madness! Shock I’m half Irish too, so between us maybe we could make a composite fourth Irish woman, Bani? Grin

I agree about Harry’s lighter suits. We redheads have to watch it with too many light colours, we can get a bit unhealthy looking. Same with black, for me anyway - I always look a wee bit corpsey if I try to do all black (lucky I’m never likely to meet the Pope, really). Navy is a good colour for us though, ime. Of course, a sharp, ironed suit will always look better in any colour [side-eyes Harry’s more, erm, rumpled numbers]

banivani · 27/09/2019 10:10

Haha four Irishwomen it is! I feel like this is a very high percentage for the thread as a whole?

The advantage of a dark suit is of course that wrinkles are less likely to show.

roisinagusniamh · 27/09/2019 10:29

I'm 100% Irish...we rule!

beanaseireann · 27/09/2019 10:41

Don't forget me.
100% Irish.
There's a lot of Royal fans in the Republic of Ireland. Quite a few watch the Royal weddings on tv and in my group we gathered together and watched sadly, the funeral of Princess Diana.

More Harry, planting trees. Planting some serious trees!

gingercat02 · 27/09/2019 11:02

If were upping the Irish quota I'm from Belfast but been in England for 28 years

Inniu · 27/09/2019 11:16

Am I included in the Irish head count?

banivani · 27/09/2019 11:27

Have to revise my head count. I had noted bean and bosco and recently josepheen (but had to go back over the thread to check) - had not noted roisin or inniu at all - so that makes 5 then, and spudlet and I have accepted a half status so 6 in all!

ElspethFlashman · 27/09/2019 12:07

7!

Inniu · 27/09/2019 12:35

To be fair I am more of a lurker.

banivani · 27/09/2019 12:47

omg that's a lot. Must be like 25 % of the contributors? Inniu if you've posted even once you count.

My excuse is the other half of me is Swedish and I'm raised on royal dresses. I don't know how you full Irish breakfasts (I am, maybe, just the fried eggs myself) are justifying yourselves Wink

evilharpy · 27/09/2019 13:11

+1 for the Irish contingent. Although I don't post that often... but I lurk!

cathyno5 · 27/09/2019 13:11

I'm from Belfast but have been in England for over 24 years.

Gooseysgirl · 27/09/2019 13:13

Another Irish person here 🙋🏻‍♀️☘️

Gooseysgirl · 27/09/2019 13:17

Funny I live in London but I know more Irish fans of the Royals than English 🤷🏻‍♀️ My DH (English) hates the royals! But my lovely MIL is a fan so he just has to put up with the Royal goss chat when we get going 😄

FelicityFlutterby · 27/09/2019 13:25

Hello! I've posted a few times; not under this name. I am also Irish!

ElspethFlashman · 27/09/2019 13:37

Well I don't think you could class us as "fans" tbh, I cast a fairly cynical eye on the individuals themselves!

But I love a bit of style.

And tbh I would be even happier if this thread was wall to wall Maxima and Letizia and the Swedes and the gazillionaires from Luxembourg!

evilharpy · 27/09/2019 13:38

Yeah I'm not particularly a big royal fan, but I am a big fan of nice frocks Grin

Love Max though.

banivani · 27/09/2019 14:06

11! Wow. Tbf there are few tiaras in Ireland, you'd have to look to the royal houses of Europe for those. ;)
