As always, let's critique the clothes and not the wearers.

I think Kate wore her blue coat to an RAF thing before. Or a very similar coat, anyway. They all start to blend into one...

Funny, I do like her more casual looks and I like most of her evening looks, but those coat dresses leave me cold.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 26/09/2019 14:55

Marks and Spencer’s have a similar dress. Also Hobbs.

itswinetime · 26/09/2019 15:14

I think that's a coat dress she wore in Australia's for a wreath laying ceremony back when George was a baby however that could be another near identical one.

Beatrice's dress is pretty I hope they don't try and do a full royal wedding I don't think I can watch her father preening around with everything going on it would be distaste although I'm aware it's not her fault, and she entitled to the wedding she wants.

MrsGrindah · 26/09/2019 15:15

Gobsmacked to read Beas ring worth 100k ...when I saw the photos I thought it wasn’t very special especially for a royal!

Ivgotasecretcanyoukeepit · 26/09/2019 15:17

I’m sick of seeing the DOC in powder blue. She needs a new stylist desperately.

frugalkitty · 26/09/2019 15:38

I really like the floral green dress Bea has on in the engagement photos. I like her ring, but £100k?? Yikes. Not convinced by the chap, like others on here there's something a bit shifty about him that I can't put my finger on.

As for Meghan's engagement ring, I wonder if she had it remade with the thinner band to make it a better fit on her finger with the new eternity ring that Harry gave her. I think she has short fingers (like me) and finds too many rings or thick bands too cumbersome, this way she can more comfortably wear all three together if she wants.

Oneforposy7 · 26/09/2019 15:40

De-lurking to say I was at the event in Birkenhead today. Kate was very beautiful in person and came across very warm and actually more comfortable public speaking than I expected. The coat dress was more appropriate in terms of formality than you might expect, lots of sailors in full uniform and family there to meet them very dressed up.

Gooseysgirl · 26/09/2019 15:43

I'm surprised she didn't wear a hat actually! Naming boats is a fairly formal event. She's worn hats when she's done it in the past.

ThingsImighthavedone · 26/09/2019 16:03

Gorgeous photos of Eug but I too feel uneasy about her fiancé. Agree smile does not reach his eyes and lack of eye contact. Perfect timing for Andy boy.

ThingsImighthavedone · 26/09/2019 16:04

Sorry I meant Beatrice!

ElspethFlashman · 26/09/2019 16:10

The 100k is just from some random jeweller the DM has asked. It's just a figure pulled out of the air.

Basically from what I can gather, the kids bloke and his ex, who is from Florida I think, we're together a few years and had a baby and her Mum gave an interview saying that they had kept the break up quiet and she didn't even know they had broken up and she was gutted. And that the baby lived with him and a Nanny cos the ex was a high flying architect and did a lot of travelling. Oh and that her daughter was having to sleep in friends sofas. And that she only had time to rush in after dinner, give the baby a bath and a cuddle and that was about it. So it made it sound like she was leaving all of it to the Nanny and him whilst she was pursuing this fabulous career. A bit sexiest, really when you think about it.

After this disaster of an interview, the ex got someone to do some damage control and said oh no she was definitely not sleeping on friends sofas thank you very much, she's far too much of a fancy jet setter for that and she's doing very well indeed thank you very much and she's looking for a new flat. That they were all living in the same flat until he started going out with B. Oh and they were engaged. And that whilst they couldn't say there was any overlap, it was all very close together wasn't it, hmmmm? They didn't really say much about the child or who he was living with.

Meanwhile loverboy here just said (or "a pal") that "there are two sides to every story"

I'm guessing that they broke up but she was looking for a flat and was still living in his flat, but wasn't really there that much, if what her Mum said was true. And that the Nanny was there.

I still don't think there was an overlap, and I'm not sure they were really engaged, but I suppose one could search their IGs for evidence of a ring if one was so inclined. They both had a lot of photos on social media apparently.

I think Princess Beatrice looks very lovely. And happy. I hope for her sake he is better than he seems...

NoTheresa · 26/09/2019 16:14

Kate really suits that fabulously fresh azure blue colour.

beanaseireann · 26/09/2019 16:32

Oh Beatrice Sad
You could do so much better.
I thought you might have got wise counsel, but I now know why you didn't. A&S & JE.
As a wise Mumsnetter said on another thread "If you marry a man who cheats on his wife ( with you ), you're married to a man who cheats on his wife."
That's if the reports of his dumping his fiancée and the conseqy for their child are true.

UrsulaPandress · 26/09/2019 17:23

Horrid as it sounds it reminds of the dear departed Mrs Merton and what first attracted you to the Princess Beatrice.

itswinetime · 26/09/2019 18:02

Fergie has posted the Attached on instagram with some black and white pics. Bit of an odd statement but Beatrice does look very happy in the pics so I hope for her sake he is genuine.

Eugenie has gone with the colour pics

And apparently this is one of Kate's better worn blue coat dresses maybe she doesn't have quite as many as I thought.

She just seems lamb dressed as mutton.....

thisenglishlife · 26/09/2019 18:10

There's lots of websites and instagram accounts where people post photos of items they've bought that were worn or used by royals. My friend has one. She has bought a huge amount of things that Kate has.

Some of the 'Kate things' she has:
Aquatalia boots
Barbour coat
Castaner espadrilles (multiple pairs)
Dubarry coat
Le Chameau wellingtons
LK Bennett shoes
Longchamp Le Pliage bags (several)
Sebago Balas shoes
Stuart Weitzman shoes (including a pair of over the knee suede boots that cost over £600)
Zara necklace

Thousands of pounds worth of items and others that are similar or from 'Kate brands'. These things weren't her style pre-Kate.

For her son, she has the same things George had as a baby - pram, blanket, clothing, etc.

UrsulaPandress · 26/09/2019 18:12

That’s a really odd message from Fergie.

Spudlet · 26/09/2019 18:16

Not to be uncharitable, but that message from Fergie reads a little as though it’s been put through Google translate Confused

LenoVintura · 26/09/2019 18:32

Beatrice is properly punching. He's absolutely gorgeous in that b/w pic where he's looking straight to camera.

BertrandRussell · 26/09/2019 18:41

“Beatrice is properly punching”

Yep. He’s a real catch. Hmm

thisenglishlife · 26/09/2019 18:44

Beatrice's fiance sounds like a cad and they haven't been together all that long. Didn't they move intogether real fast?

thisenglishlife · 26/09/2019 18:44

In together even
