I'm 51, scrawny and haggard, grey at the front, salt and pepper down the sides and still dark brown at the back. Naturally wavy with frizz (gets GHD-d a lot)
I'm staying natural..grew out all my colour 3 years ago and would like to be all silver one day!
Dh says 'chop it off'
DD2 says 'don't chop it you always regret it, just get a fringe'
My Mother feels I'm getting on a bit for long hair...
I have no idea what I want and have pinterested til my eyes are squiffy!

I'd like to have the guts to go short, but last time I did I hated it..hence the dangly hair now!

I also have NO idea what suits me!!!

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Long bob/lob.

You've got a lovely face

SwedishEdith · 26/08/2019 14:51

I'd chop to above shoulder and have a side fringe. Bit like this

Watching with interest .Agree you have lovely face. I think the photo style is my answer!!!

pieeye · 26/08/2019 15:00

You're beautiful. Long bob with a sweeping fringe.

moonpiggle · 26/08/2019 17:01

I agree with a bob It will make your hair look thicker and a side swept fringe would really suit you.

moonpiggle · 26/08/2019 17:01

Also yes to the silver! Go for it x

Paperdolly · 26/08/2019 17:23

Just put my thumbs by the side of your neck on the picture and agree. Shorter hair would suit you better. 👍🏻

Belgravian · 26/08/2019 17:30

Get some layers and dry your hair upside down.

Do not go short.

YEP - would look better shorter and with more volume at the sides to balance out the long face.

I would go for a long Bob also I wouldn't get a fringe just yet wait and see!
I think bobs look really classy and u can still tie it back if it's annoys u getting a fringe can be alot of faff if u are not used to it .
Where your hair curves under ur chin just now would be the most flattering length I think please post an after pic so we can all see

PennyNotSoWise · 26/08/2019 20:24

I think bob too OP, it would really suit you. And do you fuck look haggard, you look great!

MissClementine · 26/08/2019 22:25

If your hair is fine then I would not layer, I agree a long bob with side swept fringe.

JaneJeffer · 27/08/2019 00:56

This would look nice.

Smile go short!! Look at pixie cuts on Instagram

PointlessUsername · 27/08/2019 01:03

Long bob with a side fringe.

proseccoaficionado · 27/08/2019 07:33

Long bob vote too. You are beautiful

proseccoaficionado · 27/08/2019 07:33

I'd vote for no layers.

CountFosco · 27/08/2019 08:05

Another vote for a lob, think it would really suit you. Have you ever had a fringe? Not sure from this photo if your hair would fall into a blunt fringe (which your face would suit) or not but if you know it would then that might be a possibility as well.

You say it's naturally wavy with a frizz. If you use the curly girl method then how much wave/curl do you have? I'd stop straightening it and embrace your natural texture. Wavy hair is gorgeous. Better for the condition as well.

OooErMissus · 27/08/2019 08:07

Curly girl is only any good if you have an hour and half every day to 'plop' and let your hair dry naturally.

This isn't realistic for most people.

I have naturally wavy, frizzy hair, but it's less work to BBH and GHD it, than the incredible amount of faff that comes with the curly girl method.

Atalune · 27/08/2019 08:09

Another vote for the long Bob with a sweeping fringe and some highlights too.

Thatnovembernight · 27/08/2019 08:12

I think you look great! Also I think a bit of length suits you’ll here’s another vote for a long bob. Would love to see an ‘after’ pic if you feel like sharing! X

Chocrock · 27/08/2019 08:12

Definitely go shorter. It will give your hair more volume and life. Give it a couple of weeks after the haircut to decide what to do about the colour.

StillMedusa · 27/08/2019 08:48

You lot aren't helping Grin I was hoping for a unanimous 'chop it' or 'leave it'!!!
My fringe splits at the side..I could train it/blast it down but it tends to curl from the root there...so would have to be a side fringe!

Arrgh! Appointment tomorrow and I'm still undecided!
I do think it suits me better shorter but it's more work as I have to straighten it or it turns into a fuzzy mullet! But long, grey and tied in a pony tail makes me look like I'm going to work on my broomstick...

Whatever you decide don't forget to update with a post appointment pic! Smile

Apileofballyhoo · 27/08/2019 15:06

You don't look scrawny or haggard to me. I like the long bob side fringe idea.
