Jeans for wobbly middle

ReeReeR · 23/08/2019 22:57

I’m a bit bigger round the middle since pregnancy, maybe a size up, and want some new jeans that will be flattering and comfy.

DP Eden jeggings are ok but I’d like something a bit more like a jean. I do like the comfy top though.

I bought some skinny jeans from gap the other day and they were ok. I’m usually a size 8 and sized up to a size 28. They felt perfect but fall down a bit when I’m walk around a bit. I suspect a 27 might be a bit tight.

I suppose I want a skinny jean that will hold me in and not give me a muffin top.

Surely it’s what every woman wants theend

Hopefully someone will have some inspiration!

I have an overhang from 2 sections so I feel your pain! Bizarrely I have found some skinny Jean's from h&m that have the perfect rise and seem to conceal it! I cant do high waist because of this issue and these ones work. I also have found hush jeans to be good - ones that have a more relaxed fit slightly lower rise. Just got the Agnes Jean's and they are great. I have another 2 pairs from hush and they fit really well (although not skinnies more boyfriend style with roll ups)

Sunshineglitterandbubbles · 24/08/2019 07:12

It sounds odd but try tesco, some of their skinny jeans have just the right amount of stretch to avoid muffin tops, but be snug and hold you in. For about £15 they are a bargain

Downsides- After about 4 months of washing they loose their slight stretch and become too baggy to fit

ReeReeR · 24/08/2019 07:40

Thanks will try Tesco and H&M

Don’t know where I’d get hush from

I was expecting someone to say Topshop! They used to be go to for jeans but maybe more when we were young and didn’t have mum bods 🙄

I have an incredibly comfy pair of jeans from Matalan.

ReeReeR · 24/08/2019 07:59

Wouldn’t have thought of Matalan

There are lots of shops I need to go to now (not near each other at all!)

It's these jeans ReeReeR
They aren't as loose as they look in the picture, or maybe mine have shrunk in the wash a little. They are the holy grail of jeans for me.

howu2 · 24/08/2019 08:18

I think they are called Jasmin jeans from new look they hold everything in 👍

ReeReeR · 24/08/2019 08:24

Thanks Tapas the model probably has a bigger size on

I feel I need to get to Matalan

howu2 These?

I lived in Cherry jeans from Oasis after having a baby, they give a nice shape

TraLaLaaaaa · 24/08/2019 08:53

Next have some waist enhancer skinny jeans that are high waisted and do a good job of trimming down my waist and tummy.

Fairylea · 24/08/2019 08:56

Next, Tesco and George at Asda all do proper high waisted jeans which hold everything in.

Topshop and New Look etc high waisted are for people like my dd aged 16 who are 5ft 9 and size 8 and have nothing to hold in in the first place!

DandyLyon · 24/08/2019 08:56

High waisted jeggings work for me!

Sagradafamiliar · 24/08/2019 12:06

Gap have some 'jeggings' which are actually button up jeans which are good for this. Also H&M in boyfriend style (also button up- these seem to work best for me for some reason)

youvegottobekidding · 24/08/2019 12:10

I really like the wonderfit jeans from George at Asda, they’re a godsend! Stretchy & super comfy, think they’re more like jeggings but look & feel great.

sheshootssheimplores · 24/08/2019 12:10

I think high waisted jeans will definitely be your friend. With a belt if need be. My friend really rates Dorothy Perkins for jeggings.

Teddybear45 · 24/08/2019 12:12

Topshop’s Joni jean is highwaisted and great for a wobbly tum provided your legs are also fairly toned.

ReeReeR · 24/08/2019 12:18

Planning to go shopping shortly where there is a gap. I liked the Gap ones I got last week but they are too loose so going to have another look there. And in other shops there too obviously.

I have a few pairs of the Dorothy Perkins jeggings and they are ok but I kind of want something that feels more sturdy around the waist (if that makes sense)

OP I can remember when hipsters were in for ages!!! My rotund stomach hated that bloody fashion. Thank god high waisted trousers are back in.

Apileofballyhoo · 24/08/2019 12:40

High waisted are the only ones that don't slip down on me.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 24/08/2019 13:05

I wear by gap Hypercurve

TooMinty · 24/08/2019 13:07

Jamie jeans from Topshop for my 2x c-section overhang. And I'm 40 and not especially trendy!

TapasForTwo · 24/08/2019 15:21

Same here Apileof. I could never understand why low rise jeans were so popular. They are incredibly uncomfortable on my pear shape.
