What colour top with this skirt?

I want to wear a strappy top with this skirt but unsure of what colour. The band at the waist is black so was thinking black but is this too boring?. Also which shoes? I have kitten heels or high heels. I'll be wearing on a night out. Thankyou!

Black would look lovely. What about a rusty orange, or a mustard yellow depending on your colouring?

Oh yes a nude top would be nice. I only have black kitten heels. Didn't really want to buy new shoes as well 😣

Id go for a dull gold call I think and mid to high heels. I normally wear ultra high heels but this could do with lower ones. Due to the lengthy of the skirt. It could make legs look short depending on height. Again dull gold sandals in my opinion.

Oh yes GlamGiraffe gold would look good. Yes it is a very swishy skirt. Makes me feel quite grown up! (I'm 44 )

Gorgeous skirt. A black top will look good but agree mustard or nude would also look lovely, a grey band tshirt would look good if you are going more casual. I'd wear flats, probably trainers or ankle boots, but if you're wearing a colourful top then black shoes to match the waistband are a good idea.

Burnt orange or a dark jewelly green spring to mind.

Personally, I'd put this with a plain white t shirt and white trainers.

Magenta for me. I have a lovely magenta cashmere jumper that would lovely with that skirt in winter so now I want it but I have too many ‘fancy’ clothes when I only go out a couple of times a year.

I think I would take inspiration from a peacocks feather. Any colour from that would look wonderful.

Well I bought a kind of goldy colour top but also a black one in case I think the gold one is a bit much on the day! Thanks for all the suggestions xx I like the look of the skirt with high heels but I know that flats are the thing to wear so I'll probably compromise with kitten heels 😁
