Boden coatigan- thoughts? Other recommendations?

Im looking for a warm-ish black coat to wear with chunky scarves in Autumn when it’s not cold enough to wear my quilted Barbour.

I'm on the lookout for one but preferably a bit longer and with a hood... Although I'm now tempted by this one.

Yes, I think the Autumn collections are just starting to come into shops/online so if you wait there may be a few more options. I think it would be plenty warm for Autumn and warmer winter days and would be good for chilly spring days so I think it would be something you could wear a lot, just not on really chilly or rainy days.

Oh, that’s nice. I looked at it and went ‘wow, lovely, they do it in camel as well’ then clicked on the camel one and realised Boden had done its usual and ‘Per Una-ed’ it!

I've got a navy Kew coatigan that I'm considering ditching but based on this post I think I'll keep it!

I love a coatigan, wrapped up all cosily, especially with a scarf, but not feeling bulky and sweaty (although that's my hormones ).
This Boden one is lovely, but the price! No way! It's not even a proper winter coat, and I can't see how they can justify the price.
Although this one from Next is not black, the grey and chocolate are both stunning - and look at the price!
You could get two.

I like the Boden one and the Hobbs one is a bargain.

I do find coatigans are not that warm though. Also, what do you wear underneath them? You can’t really wear a jumper or it’s too bulky...?

I have a black and grey version of that from about 10 years ago. It's really handy.

Have just realised that one is black and grey too. Mine has three different shades.

It's lovely - it doesn't look like it has any warmth in it at all though :(
