Diamond ring but not an engagement ring

I've inherited some money and have decided to buy a diamond ring, partly as I love bling and partly as my late grandmother did too and its in her memory. But I just keep finding rings that look like engagement rings and I want something that's a statement dress ring for my right hand. Can anyone recommend a good jeweller? I can spend up to £5k

I was going to suggest the raindance rings from Boodles but they seem to have shot up in price. Other jewellery shops stock similar rings now though at different price points. I have a yellow gold and diamond one which I found after a similar search.

justasking111 · 11/08/2019 14:31

Go for an antique one rather than new.

AldiAisleOfTat · 11/08/2019 14:34

Ungar and ungar, lots of beautiful rings, not traditional engagement.

pinkcarpet · 11/08/2019 14:38

Thanks I'll have a look at Ungar and Ungar. I lookednat Boodles before but was too pricey!

Where in the country are you? I had a beautiful emerald ring made at Harriet kelsall.....

mysteryfairy · 11/08/2019 16:22

I have nice modern rings by Hannah Bedford and Ruth Tomlinson - both mumsnet recommendations.

MassDebate · 11/08/2019 16:58

De Beers have some beautiful statement rings within your budget.

Fridaysgirl · 11/08/2019 17:00

How about a Raindance type ring? The Boodles ones are expensive but many other jewellers do similar and call them Bubble rings.

Orchidflower1 · 11/08/2019 17:01

Another suggestion for designing your own - maybe incorporate some design elements of your dgm ring as that has inspired you. Also bear in mind that some vintage rings can be reset and / or replated - happy hunting.

Persea · 11/08/2019 17:12

If you don’t mind vintage there some fab ones on here (amongst the engagement ones)

Seashell80 · 11/08/2019 19:58

Those rings 😍😍😍

Ontheboardwalk · 12/08/2019 20:45

Not to everyone’s taste but I love the diamond and Onyx ring on the link.

Now could 13,750 mums netters send me £1 each so I can buy it please?

I like this statement ring. There's lots of inspo in the Selfrdiges website. Personally, I'd get an original design rather than a fake Raindance (or any other knock off).

DragonMamma · 12/08/2019 21:05

Ontheboardwalk I was just about to post the same! It’s fantastic 😍

biddybid73 · 12/08/2019 21:09

Take a look at www.jessicamccormack.com
They can also make something bespoke...

Mintypea5 · 12/08/2019 21:24

Got lost in that first link loving those rings! They had my ring (well almost the same mine has 3 baguettes on the side) I've never seen another one like it before so gave me an idea of what style it is 🥰

Ontheboardwalk · 12/08/2019 22:33

DragonMamma it’s the same price as my latest car and was will last longer. Bargain surely?!

gearandloathing · 12/08/2019 23:13

Samara James do v good rain dance rings within your budget. It's an online shop

If you're anywhere near London, make an appointment to see Karl Karter at London Rocks in Hatton Garden. He'll work with you to design your ring, let you choose from a selection of diamonds and will handmake the ring himself, all within your budget. He's an amazingly talented craftsman. He's also very down to earth and a really nice person. He started out as a diamond-mounter at Graff years ago and now he owns London Rocks with his wife (who is lovely!)

www.londonrocksjewellery.co.uk/

He's made me several pairs of bespoke earrings (see photos) that we designed together. Note my taste is very modern but he does more traditional work as well - there are lots of photos of rings he's made (all by hand!) on the website:

My friend's the jeweller at www.oaklandjewellery.com and has some beautiful designs and also does bespoke pieces.

PrincessLouis · 13/08/2019 22:50

Berganza is an amazing antique jeweller in Hatton Garden. What about this one for example? www.berganza.com/Art-Deco-diamond-cluster-ring-circa-1920.html?search_category_id%5B%5D=1&search_stonetype_id%5B%5D=1&search_pricerange_id%5B%5D=5&search_max_price=5000
