Not the palette- the single shade ones. Are they any good? Feeling a bit flat! Which shades would you recommend? I'm pale with blond hair.

I thought they were.

And then I looked at my face glittering in the sun. It’s seriously sparkly.,

Howaboutthisone · 01/08/2019 10:09

Which one was that with?

Some shades are more glittery than others.

I had three of them- they were lovely and gave a lovely velvety finish without looking cakey or dry. I wouldn’t buy them again though, not worth £40.

Dim Light was my favourite- it really warms you up.

BelindasGleeTeam · 01/08/2019 10:11

You have to use it really sparingly. It's amazing.

Dim light is better for slightly darker tones but ambient light may well be ok for you.

You can buy mini ones to try it out, they're about £20.

Howaboutthisone · 01/08/2019 10:11

Dim light was the one I was eyeing up. I've been wondering for a while but as you said they're expensive!

Which would you say for lighter skin tones please?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/08/2019 10:13

I am using it sparingly.

The thing is sometimes you can’t really see it, but at a certain angle in the sun it just lights up, no matter how much you use.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/08/2019 10:14

Mine is the yellow one, not sure what it’s called.

Lndnmummy · 01/08/2019 10:19

I’m a dim light and radiant light fan. I love them

Howaboutthisone · 01/08/2019 10:32

How do dim light and radiant light differ in your opinion? I'm between dim, radiant and luminous at the moment!

I wear ethereal and really like it

Howaboutthisone · 01/08/2019 11:34

I love the sound of ethereal. Think it's between dim and luminous for me 🤔

OP posts:
EraOfTheGrey · 01/08/2019 11:54

I have ethereal, mood and diffused and I love them all. My favourite for the day is absolutely ethereal. Ethereal isn't as sparkly as the others but still luminous. Mood is excellent when I have a little more colour or as a replacement for blusher on no make up days, diffused is great for the evenings.
I am cool toned Celtic pale with freckles.

Howaboutthisone · 01/08/2019 12:13

Oo that's interesting! Thanks.

Wet n Wild Reserve your Cabana gives the exact same effect and is cheap as chips. It's available in Ireland but is also easy to find online. I've gone through 2 in my time.

I really think the Hourglass ones are crazy expensive for what they are. They're just glowy face powders!

Howaboutthisone · 01/08/2019 12:46

Never heard of wet and wild before thanks.

Shinygoldbauble · 01/08/2019 13:35

I think Wet and Wild is in the UK now. The new Boots in Meadowhall has it.

avocadotofu · 01/08/2019 14:17

I have dim light and I LOVE it so much, it makes my skin looks AMAZING!

Howaboutthisone · 01/08/2019 14:53

I was between dim and luminous and have gone for luminous in the end 😊

Revolution do excellent dupes as well.

The originals are not worth the money given the alternatives now available.

bushes · 01/08/2019 16:07

I really rate them, and have tried dupes as well. The thing with the Hourglass powders is that they're incredibly finely milled so you get a really perfect finish, even with the smallest amount.

I have Dim and Ethereal light, I use Dim for evenings and ethereal for the day time.

Scoose · 01/08/2019 16:52

I'm pale although I have dark hair, I use diffused light. Dim light was too dark for me I also have the palette with three powders and the one with six, diffused light is the only one I have bothered to buy singularly.

Propertyofhood · 01/08/2019 16:55

I had diffused light and it was one of the most disappointing make up products I have ever bought, especially as it was so expensive! I ended up selling it on a FB beauty site.

Howaboutthisone · 10/08/2019 19:57

I'm really pleased with it! It gives just a subtle something that makes me look less 'flat'. I love my ELDW but have been trying to find something to replace it that's just as good coverage wise and longevity wise but without looking so flat. Haven't managed to find it. Now I've tried this over it I'm happy! I can get the benefits of DW but with a less flat/more luminous finish. Expensive so I'm not sure what I'll do when it runs out-I'll see how long this spend lasts and then decide if it's worth replacing but at the moment I think I will.

I also have luminous and I love it. Best beauty product I have bought for ages.
