They've probably had people taking the piss. I thought that when a cardi id ordered developed a hole and they were rather more sticky about it.

ilovecherries · 04/08/2019 13:20

No, I didn’t. One of the options on the returns form is ‘faulty/damaged’ so I used the code for that with an explanation of the problem. The issue doesn’t seem to be that is damaged though, it’s that they can’t find it. And instead of asking for all the info they need at once they are asking for it in drips and drabs, with long time delays in between and entirely ignoring the info they already have. It reminds me of IT helpdesks at work. ‘Have you tried turning it off and on’ 24 hours later ‘have you cleared our cache’ another 24 hours later ‘what browser are you using’ etc etc, when all that info was included in your initial help ticket. I’m really not impressed.

In the sense of photos, pop and garment technologists!
They shouldnt piss their customers off especially with brexit coming and people reigning it in.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2019 13:22

Could you phone them?

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2019 13:22

🤣🤣🤣🤣at the help desks! So frustrating!

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2019 13:23

...but annoyingly true. I would be tempted to phone.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2019 13:26

...and then again you may deal with different people. Equally annoying but you could at least express your disatisfaction. It is ridiculous. Definitetl do item not as described through paypal or whatever. They hate that. I did it with hush for a refund not recieved and they phoned me!

ilovecherries · 04/08/2019 14:06

There’s no one to call at the weekend and I’m in class 9-5 all next week. Anyway, they’ve just replied that they have no record of receiving it, so we appear to be at stalemate.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2019 15:12

Oh ffs!!! No record of receiving it? Then its your word against theirs🥺 ive always worried about thing like that. Surely the weight of the items together in the parcel would prove it. They should do the right thing by you as a customer.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2019 15:13

That would really piss me off.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2019 15:15

This would make my bp rise.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2019 15:16

They wont have a record because it was in with other things.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2019 15:17

@ilovecherries were there other items with their own invoices?

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2019 15:18

What separate orders were there in the parcel? Was it just the dress and simething else or was there a few orders in the same parcel?

StrictestConfidence · 04/08/2019 15:51

Hi cherries. I had the same problem last year when I returned a couple of items in the same parcel to Toast. Ultimately, I suggested they check the weight of the items I was claiming had been returned, against the weight recorded on the postal receipt.
I'm not sure if they actually did, but there was capitulation and I got the refund. It was an abberation though, as generally the returns process is quick and reliable.

ilovecherries · 04/08/2019 16:23

Thanks strictest. I’ve suggested this to them, and hoping it’s ok, I’m stupidly upset by it, which is largely displacement upset and anxiety about something else entirely, but it’s still a lot of money. :(

In happier news, I’m now in London. I’m clearly becoming very wussy with age. A few years ago I was flying to London a couple of times a week, and to Paris and Madrid at least every couple of months, whereas today I felt ridiculously scared. I’m now in the hotel though, all unpacked and having a coffee before I walk to the uni to check my route for tomorrow. DD will be down about midnight tomorrow after she finishes work so I only need to be very brave for 48 hours.

Although I am a little shocked that we appear to have passed some watershed where she adults me!

cherries crikey that is so annoying & not great customer service feel a bit 😡 on your behalf, really really hope you enjoy your London course & have a fab time.
Soups yeahy success with swimwear, hope you went & had a lovely peaceful lunch.
Laska you must be shattered, would send Gin but have drunk it all😂
Dd her Dh & dgd still here, definitely can’t go back to the flat & probably minimum of six months in rental, as flat will need a lot of work & they still haven’t sourced where the leak is coming from😱 we have a couple of viewings for rental property tomorrow, so 🤞🏻 One might be suitable.

twosoups1972 · 04/08/2019 17:06

@cherries what a nightmare with Toast. So frustrating. I hope it’s sorted soon.

Binkybix · 04/08/2019 23:16

So I need to decide whether to keep the Star trousers. I think they puff out slightly at hips. They are maybe a tiny bit snug so not sure if going up a size would help or make worse.

No pics as in bed now. I like them and they’re comfy, but just totting up money on clothes recently and a bit Confused

ilovecherries · 05/08/2019 07:09

I sent mine back binky. Despite the other reviews, I had to go up two sizes to get rid of the bulky hip effect, then they looked all saggy on the bum.

I'm just relogging into the thread.. just dropped DGS off... and relax ( in the garden with a Gin perhaps? oh no....the sun is not yet over the yard arm .

Hope you are enjoying the course cherries and that Toast have seen some sense..
My bamboo slip has arrived, its nice.. just a plain slip /could be a slip dress, its substantial enough.. , but fills a hole in the wardrobe, and also means I can wear my jigsaw kaftan actually out in public without frightening anyone !!

twosoups1972 · 05/08/2019 15:17

@Binkybix they do puff out at the hips a bit. Suits me because I am top heavy but they’re not good for all body shapes.

Ellapaella · 05/08/2019 17:19

Yes they are high waisted so are meant to sit just under the rib cage, I'm not great with high waists but these seem okay for me. Can imagine they're not for everyone though.

So I'm just popping by to say I'm off on my hols tomorrow. Have to go in to work first thing to do some teaching then we will be heading off early afternoon. So lots of packing for me tonight... not fun and quite stressful. Away for 12 days in total, a week in a holiday cottage in Devon but stopping off at various places on the way down in the campervan. So we need to take a lot of stuff!
Will be keeping up on the thread when I can but it's strictly no spend for me now!

Binkybix · 05/08/2019 17:53

It lost my response!

I think I will keep them just because they’re so comfy and hoping if I lose a bit of hip podge the elastic can relax a bit and maybe de-puff them. Plus with a tucked in top they give a pretty va-va voom hip to waist ratio.

Then no spend.

Have a fab holiday Ella
