Looks lovely @ella. Are you keeping it? You suit it.

Ellapaella · 01/09/2019 17:40

Yes definitely keeping. Just hope it doesn't bobble too much.

Ellapaella · 01/09/2019 17:42

This is the medium. The small was tiny.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/09/2019 18:08

It looks just nice in size on you :)

taybert · 01/09/2019 18:24

Oo, that’s nice Ella

Yeah len I’ve tried them on again a few times today and they are just too big. I’ve had thick elastic put in the waistband of stuff before but I don’t think it would be enough, I think they’d bunch. I’ll try the 8 but the 10 are just right through the thigh so I’m not hopeful.

There’s some sea salt cords that one of the reviews has commented work really well for her small waist/big bum. I’m not sure they’re really what I’m after but I might give them a try.

I’m looking at boots and thoughts so far are something like these UGGs or these DMs though they’re quite different. I always wish I lived near shops at the start of a new season, I spend a lot of time at the post office!

ilovecherries · 01/09/2019 18:25

It looks lovely, ella. I bought it in the Xmas sale Jan 18 and as you say, it was rigid and very thick and itchy. This version looks much nicer.

Ellapaella · 01/09/2019 18:35

I love those DM's @taybert - also definitely recommend trying the sea salt ones as they will likely be very good quality.
Yes @ilovecherries - it's got a different feel to it from the previous version. Much softer.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/09/2019 19:06

@tayber, the cords look lovely and a very nice colour. Very tempted! My only reservation is that bf jeans and gf jeans means cold ankles in winter so I usually only wear them in spring or even just at the end of summer.

taybert · 01/09/2019 19:39

@neveradullmoment that’s the idea with the boots though I’m not sure I can pull the look off!

neveradullmoment99 · 01/09/2019 22:00

I am sure they would look fine with boots. I would try them on with some to get the idea. I love the look of the wide leg cord crops and love the look with socks but I would need to try that out!!

Huffthepuff · 01/09/2019 22:30

I really like those Uggs @taybert are you thinking of those with the cords? Would look amazing!

@Ellapaella the jumper is gorgeous on you! Yay for autumn!

I can't stop thinking about those burgundy boots that Laska shared from the Toast website...

justilou1 · 02/09/2019 03:21

So our Winter has officially ended. It's already 27'C. It's going to be 32'C in a couple of days. I can imagine what that means for our summer. I was hanging out the washing in my bucket hat being swooped by nesting evil satanic butcher birds, with Ivy Dog cowering at my feet. Come to Australia - where everything is trying to kill you. Especially nature! No shopping for me. I shall live through you ladies for a while. Love both boots, btw, @taybert! Doesn't help you make a decision, though. I'd probably choose the DM's because they tend to last longer than UGGs. Also UGG Australia is a misleading name - it's an American company. @Ellapaella - Jumper's trés cute!!!

Laska2Meryls · 02/09/2019 07:19

Those that are thinking of buying them ...What are you thinking of wearing with the cord crops come winter ? I'm thinking how to extend my chaminox but socks and brogues may be a step too far!

I 'won' a BN Toast khaki silk kaftan type dress on ebay last night for £31 so v pleased

just sounds terrifying..

Laska2Meryls · 02/09/2019 07:23

Ella love the jumper...
I'm confessing to rebuying the ToastJapanese trousers in xs as they seem to be selling out.. FOMO yes I know that they are too expensive and I have a car to get fixed

Binkybix · 02/09/2019 08:10

♥️ the jumper, Ella

The trousers were lovely, Laska

ilovecherries · 02/09/2019 08:19

I asked the same question a few pages back, laska. I’m worried that brogues and socks will make me look slightly as if I’m too confused to dress properly, rather than chic and elegant. As it is, I’ve spent the summer fighting off my mum who is desperate to check the hems of all my trousers to see if she can let them down for me.

Now come on cherries you are our official qualified stylista!! .

Knee boots and wide crops , just shriek 1970s Disco to me.. ( and I am old enough to have done it the first time when I was actually Chic! ) But actually I do still have some rather nice Jones the bootmaker tall back boots with a small heel (90s rather than 70s)

Opaques and trainers maybe ? I will try.. ( but I hate wearing tights under trousers ) Victorian style lace up ankle boots perhaps ?

I may have also ordered the cord crops just to see
( If they call a gen election Ill have some more cash due for working it ! , that will help pay for car)

ilovecherries · 02/09/2019 08:58

Ha, well, that would be one benefit 🤣. On one hand, while I’m desperate for an election, Corbyn isn’t filling me with confidence and I’m terrified it will mean BoJo will actually end up with a better outcome. We could lend Nicola to Westminster, possibly?

Ellapaella · 02/09/2019 09:13

I think socks, brogues and cropped trousers are a 'thing' - certainly seems to be a look that many labels have in their catalogues etc. Last year I bought some glittery socks specifically for this purpose but was too chicken to actually wear in public Grin
I would wear DM's with cropped trousers so that the hem of the trousers slightly covers the top of the boots so no bare flesh is showing.

I’ve not seen any real people wearing cropped trousers with socks and brogues I don’t think. But then where I live the standard footwear is wellies. I also feel concerned about the socks falling down and going wrinkly.

dontcallmelen · 02/09/2019 10:49

Trouble with cropped trousers is they have to hit the right part of the leg/footwear & if they don’t I dunno just think they look a bit odd.
I seem to remember in the seventies, them being worn with knee high block heel boots or sort of brogues with thick long socks.
Just crikey even reading about satanic birds, makes me feel a bit queasy.
Ella jumper looks lovely.

dontcallmelen · 02/09/2019 10:54

Ooh Laska a brilliant bargain from eBay.

taybert · 02/09/2019 11:10

Well I’ve ordered the DMs as La Redoute had an extra 10% off sale today, I’ve read a few reviews saying they’re even stiffer than DMs usually are, so we’ll see what they’re like.

I’ve also seen a nice cord pinafore dress. There’s significant danger of me ending up bankrupt with corduroy clothing as my only asset Grin.

ilovecherries · 02/09/2019 11:20

Hm. Ok, in the interest of sisterhood, I have tried this. With ankle socks, there is still a gap with crops, although they work with 7/8 length. I do have a pair of knee length falke socks, and obviously there is no gap with them with the crops.
