I have taken the plunge and ordered the frayed check jacket in 2 sizes to try, the new Kensington red, long sleeve dress and the V neck wide jersey in midnight (this is my favourite Hush top and I wear the colours I have constantly in A/W).

neveradullmoment99 · 29/08/2019 16:10

Sounds like nice choices @miffy.
@Laska2Meryls excited to see your new skirt! Did it come?
I also don't think you are being rude :) Everyone has their own ideas of what they like/don't like. When I was out shopping looking at clothes [ a rare event!!!] the fashion is most definitely 70's with tiered dresses, ruffles, cord, flares and autumn colourways! I don't really care about fashion but I did notice this.

taybert · 29/08/2019 16:29

I love cord, I always have and as such I have ordered the girlfriend cord chinos as a consolation for my goat ruined star trousers.

Talisin · 29/08/2019 18:13

Grazia’s fallen for the Kensington. Headlined I’ve just discovered the perfect dress for big boobs. So how come it doesn’t suit me then?

ilovecherries · 29/08/2019 18:47

I actually did like the Kensington last year, when I was still a K cup - one of the few dresses I tried that didn’t pull on the bust and still fit me elsewhere. I have to admit, I thought it was sorcery, especially as it still seems to fit me post reduction as well.

@taybert you must be gutted about your star trousers Shock

neveradullmoment99 · 29/08/2019 19:42

OMG Toast has new things and I love this:

neveradullmoment99 · 29/08/2019 19:47

Beautiful but way way way out of my price range!

Toast skirt came and went straight back! Never ( car will cost about £600!! ). but TBH It was a bit disappointing .The fabric was very fine cord more like you'd use for a shirt and arrived terribly creased.. But really I thought they could do much better for the price.

The black side button denim trousers were toolong and too small in the waist for me currently but were nice, I'd try them again in a sale .. and the pink bamboo slip[ hmm] (Ihave the grey and its fab). It was advertised as Dusky pink, but just looked like it was dirty! ..(it wast, just a sort of dul grey/lilac pink, really no good for my skin tone..

So all wet back.. I also sent back the Japanese trousers .. I will definitely buy if they are in the sale , but they were just too expensive.. and the charcoal top, which was too big I may get again later .. .

S...o looking at new the Toast stuff..... I have no money so its purely fantasy buying here ....

I utterly, utterly adore These boots (and as I am only fantasy shopping , I can!)

and likewise this dress..so lovely . .. I did have something very like this in the late 70's!

and then there's this jumper (its love)

and although I wont be buying atm this looks more like the weight cord skirt I like

Laska2Meryls · 29/08/2019 20:30

..of the other stuff which came today .. Jigsaw trousers , quite yuk..
Pea coat, I loved this and would have kept, but it was too small over the bust.. it did up but not with a winter jumper under..

Bag (which I encouraged huff to get) , yes it was nice , but I have a car to repair!

All went back.. (I see it as my effort to keeping the postal service ad local post office , in jobs!!) .

Luckily I am not in love with any of the new Hush stuff either..
would have liked a navy wide top (crew neck) but they didnt only the v neck which i didnt like last season .. Am now thinking of dyeing my old pale grey one

neveradullmoment99 · 29/08/2019 22:03

Well that sounds like your returns will leave more than enough money to fund the car now :)
I love the Toast boots and the check dress that you linked too but why o why are they so fecking expensive? Is so unfair.
I will try on the dresses that I have coming but tbh they will probably be returned. I don't care that much for the new hush stuff either so maybe its a no spend for me too?

ParmesanOfVirtue · 29/08/2019 22:34

Is this a Hush thread or a Toast one (or both)?

neveradullmoment99 · 29/08/2019 23:23

Its both! And a mixture of other brands too😁

Laska2Meryls · 30/08/2019 06:53

parmesan hi, we started off on Hush love, but we are such fickle fashionistas , ( some of us anyway! me). Toast is also a favourite now..

Laska2Meryls · 30/08/2019 07:03

never, that cord dress is lovely. I think it would be worth a go... enabling others as she is now broke..

neveradullmoment99 · 30/08/2019 08:25

I will order it but not atm. I really love it. It does look neat on the bust though so i need to try both sizes. Would stick with the navy.

ilovecherries · 30/08/2019 09:23

Anyone who has the Monaco trousers? Do you think they would work if I took the elasticated cuff off and hemmed them? I have three pairs of the damn things and they just don’t work for me. They bunch up on my leg, and look like pantaloons, and I find the elastication really uncomfortable on my bad leg, sends all the nerves jangling. Or am I better to sell them? Don’t want to waste them by hacking them up if it’s not a workable solution.

ParmesanOfVirtue · 30/08/2019 09:27

Ok thanks, I like both brands but find them very different (in terms of quality & style)!

neveradullmoment99 · 30/08/2019 09:50

I had the Monaco trousers. I was a bit like you. They kind of bunched and I tended to find the elastication a bit annoying too.
I suppose it depends upon how long they are on you. How baggy the leg is. Tbh, I think they would just look like a straight leg trousers so worth a punt. Try it with one of them, probably the one that has been 'worn' the most and see how you get on.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/08/2019 09:51

Actually, I think they would be fine if you took the elastic out and rolled them up slightly.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/08/2019 09:53

and look like pantaloons lol...I had a wee giggle at that Grin

ilovecherries · 30/08/2019 10:04

I’ve measured them against the Easy cropped trousers and I think they will end up with the same sort of profile and length. Slightly firmer fabric than the easy ones. I think I will go for it

What do you think of this. When I sent back the leather jacket I noticed this in the sale. Third of the original price so it’s a great deal. It’s VERY heavy! And also oversized. This is a 10. I had meant to order a 12 and must have just clicked in the wrong box - it’s my mistake, not theirs this time! Anyway, it’s bucle which is a fabric I avoided like the plague when I was fat. At £50 is it worth it for an extra winter jacket?

parmesan, yes, they are very different. To be honest, we talk about everything we buy, no matter where it comes from, including eBay and the charity shop. We just live vicariously through each other’s wardrobe. Feel free to jump in :)
