and that is me all spent out for now as I have a big bill in September so cant afford anything more.
Am tempted for another time at the pleat culottes and maybe a pair of jeans/trousers. Hanging off until next pay day though. Has anyone ordered anything from the new collection?

neveradullmoment99 · 15/08/2019 12:17

@ilovecherries I really like the sound of your course. Wish they did something like that in Scotland. I would LOVE to get out of my job.

Laska2Meryls · 15/08/2019 12:23

I have ordered this shirt its coming today ! OK its expensive , but I have the pale blue one from last season and have worn it loads (and it sold out early on)
..also the olive Chamonix

SoyYo · 15/08/2019 12:30

That shirt looks really useful laska so look forward to your pic. It looks like real denim instead of jersey so win win.
DH gave me the 10% off Hush flyer that came in the post today saying “in case you’re interested” Grin

SoyYo · 15/08/2019 12:31

noodles and miffy thanks on the Gap jeans style tips to try in the future too...

neveradullmoment99 · 15/08/2019 13:07

Love that shirt @laska. Very interested to see it. It looks like the other jersey one that you and I have but I like this one better as it is more like denim. I don't normally get on with denim shirts. They are always too stiff!! That looks ideal!

twosoups1972 · 15/08/2019 13:36

@miffy2 I also love Gap jeans and am eternally grateful to @Laska2Meryls for recommending their straight legs. They are so flattering on me.

@never lovely dress, looks really good on you.

twosoups1972 · 15/08/2019 13:40

Well me and dd1 are back after collecting results. The bad news is that she got a C in English and badly wanted an A (and offer from first choice uni wanted an A). However, the good news is that uni has still accepted her Smile When she checked the UCAS tracking later on, she found out that the offer was made unconditional 3 days ago! Really weird.

It's good news but I feel for her because she said all along that doing well in English meant more to her than the uni place. However, looking at news reports, it seems that it's a tough year and grades are all down. Far fewer A and A* grades.

So her plan is to accept uni place but defer it for a year, then a year at home to sit remaining two A Levels (which she doesn't really need now but would be good to have) and then off to Birmingham next year. I think she's done brilliantly bearing in mind her poor health earlier this year.

neveradullmoment99 · 15/08/2019 13:48

Well done for you dd @soups. My three are all to go through that. Oh its tough being a parent at that time!

twosoups1972 · 15/08/2019 13:57

It's horrible @never and the system sucks. After seeing my dd being unwell with depression and anxiety, I just want her to be happy and healthy but there is SO much pressure on them. This crazy exam system!

She had a bit of a cry but in the time it took us to get home, she cheered up a bit after seeing all her friends results. What worries me though, is next week dd2 gets her GCSE results and is likely to get a string of 9s. I'm worried if that will affect dd1's self esteem.

Laska2Meryls · 15/08/2019 14:16

Ok denim jersey shirt, fab am keeping, this is a L never I like them loose, but its not over big on me ( strange sizing really as the Linda shirt I just bought is a 10 and is the same size, also loose!!)
Olive Chamonix, in 10, I knew these would be good as I d tried them in the 12 when JL mistakenly had then on their website a few weeks ago for a few days.
Keeping both.. The gap trousers came Miffy but sadly the 12 is far too small for me !! Really small in the waist sadly ..

See how my hair colour has faded in just a few days..
Twosoups i know your dd is disappointed, but well done her after all she has been through recently, possibly deferring is good idea it will give her a breathing space

SoyYo · 15/08/2019 14:24

Ooh you look great laska love both on you and yes to keeping! (Btw you’re looking trim too 😊).

soups very positive outcome for DD despite the disappointment with her English result. It’s a horrible system I totally agree and she’s done so well given the challenges she faced this year ❤️ Her plan sounds perfect too. Go out and celebrate!

Laska2Meryls · 15/08/2019 14:42

aha! Gap have sent me a10 !1 thats why! , I took a punt on getting into the12 as i have found they do tend to come up small.. ... I would need a hip removed to get into a Gap sz 10 !!

Soy thanks.. both items are really fab,(i've still got the shirt on!) but actually here's nothing else atm that I really like of the Hush A/W stuff .. I havent actually lost anymore weight than the initial 5lbs i dropped in the first week of the diet .. I think its just moved around.... Confused.
(Btw got your message ... Aye aye! Understood Captain ! Wink)

Laska2Meryls · 15/08/2019 14:50

Id definitely go for a M in the shirt if I were you , never (remember my rugby shoulders!!) Grin

twosoups1972 · 15/08/2019 15:16

Thank you all for your good wishes. She’s going to request a remark just in case it goes up, apparently one paper was close to an A so it might go up to a B overall. I’ve bought her a card, chocolates and a cake and we’ll go out for a meal tonight Smile

Ellapaella · 15/08/2019 15:20

That's still a great result for you dd Soups! Glad she got in to her uni. When you say she's going to sit remaining two A levels how many did she sit this time around?

miffy2 · 15/08/2019 16:44

soups well done to your DD - I know the pressure is terrible (I had one go through school finals last year and another to come next year!) but at the end fo the day the college offer is the important thing and the thing that will mean the most in the long term (My DD can barely remember how she did in each exam last year).

Laska that's mad, that they sent you the wrong size. I have them in a 14 and I am usually a 12 in their jeans; apologies as I should have said when I mentioned them.

Never that dress is stunning on you. I had the same doubts over the placement of the twist (seriously, do they not design for boobs?!) but it looks really good on you. I'd definitely keep the 12 as I always feel skimming is better.

twosoups1972 · 15/08/2019 16:48

@Ellapaella she just did one this year (English) and the BTEC which is enough for her uni place. She decided not to do the other two this year bearing in mind her poor health.

@miffy you are so right and I've told dd that whilst she's very upset now, it will matter less in the coming weeks/months/years.

Ellapaella · 15/08/2019 19:54

That's great @twosoups1972 - she's done so well. My DS is starting a level 3 BTEC in engineering in September and should be able to get an apprenticeship or into uni with it.

FuzzyPuffling · 15/08/2019 20:17

Dearest Hushies,
I hope today you will be proud of me.

Despite still being a poorly bunny, I noticed that JLP had got the new Hush Kensington in (it's lovely green colour) and I had enough vouchers to order myself one (at no cost - fab).

SO I DID!!!

A Kensington is on it's way to me.

Ellapaella · 15/08/2019 20:21

👏👏👏

FuzzyPuffling · 15/08/2019 20:30

ella I thank you, I thank you....

SoyYo · 15/08/2019 20:34

Bravo Fuzzy!!! 👏👏👏 that’s the spirit (hope you’re recovering well Flowers).
Looking forward to hearing what you think of it, love the green and gold print btw and you know how much I like my Kensingtons so I’m sure you’ll love too. Super easy to wear and dress up/down 👍

FuzzyPuffling · 15/08/2019 20:41

Hurrah!

I managed to make it to the sofa for most of the day, so things are looking up. V bored though!

Might even show you a pic when it arrives.
