Well me and dd1 are back after collecting results. The bad news is that she got a C in English and badly wanted an A (and offer from first choice uni wanted an A). However, the good news is that uni has still accepted her
When she checked the UCAS tracking later on, she found out that the offer was made unconditional 3 days ago! Really weird.
It's good news but I feel for her because she said all along that doing well in English meant more to her than the uni place. However, looking at news reports, it seems that it's a tough year and grades are all down. Far fewer A and A* grades.
So her plan is to accept uni place but defer it for a year, then a year at home to sit remaining two A Levels (which she doesn't really need now but would be good to have) and then off to Birmingham next year. I think she's done brilliantly bearing in mind her poor health earlier this year.
