No it’s cotton @Huffthepuff I will try with a different top. Think you are all right about the jeans, will wait to see if the other MV ones are any better.

@ilovecherries 2 leather jackets are not excessive! Go for it

SoyYo · 13/08/2019 19:47

To illustrate how Hush take the mickey with returns. This jumper was ooo for bloody ages. An M (a return obviously) suddenly appeared as “low stock” and I ordered. It didn’t suit my shape (would look lovely on someone else) and was a bit too bit in M so I returned early last week. It was ooo in all sizes again once I ordered it.
www.hush-uk.com/sale-1/sale-2/sale-knitwear-1/hooded-stripe-jumper-scuba-ecru.htm

Well on Sunday when I placed my last jumper order which I received today I had a look an M was back in stock (obviously my returned jumper). They’ve now sold it again but have they refunded me? Not yet Angry
So they’re playing a not very good game using customer returns for their bloody cash flow!
Not Impressed.

Laska2Meryls · 13/08/2019 20:08

Soy you need to search for 'high rise straight crop chinos on Gap,' (I cant link them either for some reason ) the green are really cheap ( and an extra 20% off making them just over £18 with paying delivery.Smile.. it would be rude not to I think

Yes to Hush taking ages.. I reckon they owe me over £250 with the returns I have made.. Expecting it to be a few weeks until I get it back Angry

neveradullmoment99 · 13/08/2019 20:21

Well a bit of a mixed bag hush wise. Not sure tbh what I like if anything. Maybe a couple of things like the gorgeous blue turquoise colour of the Fiona shirt dress. Not that much is jumping out at me.
I got the pink chinos through today. They are a 12 and a much nicer muted pink than I envisaged but they are a bit generous and not sure the colour is really me. The twist front dress fits in both sizes but just doesn't look right on me in the bust at all. Its sits wrongly. The tee laska ordered I love.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/08/2019 20:23

I quite like the Kensington maxi but a bit unsure of the metallic bits.

SoyYo · 13/08/2019 20:37

I don’t really need any more chinos or trousers for that matter so will leave the gap browsing lest I get tempted again laska 🤦🏻‍♀️

Shame about your latest haul never but if you keep one thing (sounds like the T is a winner) it wasn’t a completely wasted exercise. I did contemplate the leopard twist front dress, it does look amazing online but I feared that the knot just at boob level would not be a good look on my shape Hmm sounds like my instinct was right for once...

ilovecherries · 13/08/2019 20:49

I had that wrangler jacket as well laska. Found a picture of me wearing around 1977. Must have been about then as I still had my own HUGE hair. I’m wearing it with what looks like a Ben Sherman checked shirt and bell bottom wrangler. Them were the days 😂. I’m irrationally tempted to buy it again!

OP posts:
dontcallmelen · 13/08/2019 21:06

Oh those were the days of wrangler, I had bell bottoms worn with massive platforms & Ben Sherman shirt though I was the bees knees also had nearly waist length hair cut into a feather cut.
Soups I really like the jumpsuit & heels are very pretty.
Cherries if I had spare money at the moment, I would oh so definitely be ordering the navy biker, it’s on my wish list so also some enabling from me.
Soy jumpers are lovely especially like the green one.
Hello everyone else.

Laska2Meryls · 13/08/2019 22:09

Ahem!..... I had matching cord bell bottoms to go with that cord Wrangler jacket!! Blush (V. Starsky and Hutch !! - for those old enough to remember!) It was a 'mushroom' colour. I am sure my DSF has a photo somewhere of me wearing it (and scowling to the camera like the teen I was ! )..,,Next time I go over to see him I'll see if I can find it to post !!

noodlezoodle · 13/08/2019 22:44

Soy I think you're right, probably not worth the risk and I'll wait til I'm home next. I must say I really miss the British high street and I pine for John Lewis Grin. When I visit home I stay with family just outside London and always make a couple of trips up to town so I can check out JL and Cos.

Nowadays a lot of the the shops here are the same as everywhere else (e.g. H&M, Zara, Gap) and the prices are very similar, although J Crew and Madewell are good and are cheaper in the US - the price seems to be about the same in pounds and dollars.

I am trying to be reasonably good at the moment but I did just buy this shirt from Madewell because the colour and pattern are so cheerful and really made me smile: www.madewell.com/courier-shirt-in-flecked-rainbow-stripe-M0056.html?dwvar_M0056_color=WQ6849&cgid=apparel-topstees-tops&position=14&position=14&activeChunk=1#start=1

GinandGingerBeer · 14/08/2019 07:13

If you're looking for jeans @soy, the H&M premium collection ones are lovely. In fact their premium collection has some really nice quality basics....
Theses are the skinnies I bought:
They're super soft but don't bag at the knees and look very high end for the price!

Ellapaella · 14/08/2019 08:34

I love H&am jeans but dear me, the sizing is mad! A few weeks ago I tried about 8 pairs on and couldn't get a size to fit. Each style seems to have its own sizing!

Ellapaella · 14/08/2019 08:38

Just saw this Sainsbury's biker jacket. This is exactly the collar I love on a biker, looks much better on me than the usual. If only I had a spare £90 as I love it! I already have two bikers though so can't possibly justify it. https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/PREMIUM-Black-Leather-Biker-Jacket/133841840-Black?searchTerm=:newArrivals&searchProduct

Ellapaella · 14/08/2019 08:39

Is it the one you liked cherries? Did you order?

ilovecherries · 14/08/2019 08:53

I haven’t ordered. Yet. Ahem.

It’s a lovely jacket Ella but I can’t do the Tu jackets this year as they all have the stand up collar. I have some surgical scarring on my neck and I find those collars highly irritating after a few minutes. I need the soft, flappy collars.

OP posts:
Laska2Meryls · 14/08/2019 09:01

I like them ella especially as they dont have the slanted zip, which is rubbish for boobs.. But Sadly they are only have small sizes left .. my rugby player shoulders need large !!

Ellapaella · 14/08/2019 09:03

I find the flappy collars the same laska - they sit funny on my chest and one side always looks a bit uneven. I love the collarless ones. Maybe I'll sell mine when I get home and see if I can raise enough to buy the Sainsbury's one.

Laska2Meryls · 14/08/2019 09:04

Dh bought me a really lovely and expensive M V dark grey leather biker a few years ago, I could never get it over my boobs even when I was a proper size 10. ( The jacket was a 14 !! . He now wears it !!

SoyYo · 14/08/2019 10:21

I like the madewell shirt noodles, and you’re right in NA different brands. You win some you lose some. Anthropology I would imagine is also lots cheaper there? I love their stuff.

gin thanks for the jeans tip on H&M but I think it’s soups that was after new jeans as I own so many (Hush, Zara, Boden, Levi, J Brand) I deffo don’t need to look at new jeans, I could open a bloody Jean warehouse with my lot! Grin

Great shape on that Tu leather jacket Ella and great price. I’ll try it on next time I go to Sainsbury’s (disclaimer I don’t need any more leather bikers either Wink)

justilou1 · 14/08/2019 11:19

I am currently eyeing off the UNIQLO U high-waisted flared jeans because they make my bum look perky. (Also have visions of looking like Marisa Tomei in the last Avengers movie, but she’s tall and willowy with cascading brunette curls, and I’m short and dumpy and balding.... sigh! Also would need them hemmed.)

miffy2 · 14/08/2019 12:50

Thanks for sorting the Gap link/search for Soy, Laksa!

I think the link didn't work as it defaults to the EU site for me and I can't move to the UK site. Anyway fingers crossed you like the green, Laksa, i have lived in mine. They are quite high on the waist. I hope the cream is a decent shade, no sign of them shipping out yet. Gap take ages to ship out these days (and then demand you have your returns back within 30 days of ordering, even if it takes them over 15 of those days to ship the bloody thing out!)

twosoups1972 · 14/08/2019 14:50

The Madewell shirt is lovely @noodles

Enjoying all the leather biker talk. Are we really thinking about Autumn already? Although it's cold and rainy here in London. I'm looking forward to wearing my black leather biker bought from Massimo Dutti this summer.

@Ellapaella the TU one looks nice and a great price.

Just about to leave with dd for Staffordshire, booked a B&B for tonight ready for A Level results tomorrow morning! Am nervous for her.

ilovecherries · 14/08/2019 16:09

Good luck for tomorrow Soups. Glad all that is behind me!

I’ve just finished my exam, now I need to spend a few hours gathering all my evidence, which is scattered on multiple pieces of papers, on the phone, or on Pinterest or style wardrobe.

Soy unfortunately Anthropologie is extortionate in the US as well! They do such beautiful stuff though.

Having said I was trying to be good I ended up buying a new pair of Gap jeans yesterday, mainly because they had 40% off so they ended up being $40 (about 30 pounds). They're a new cut that they've just released - high rise cigarette jeans and they're both very flattering and very soft. Need to try them for a full day to see if they bag out but so far very promising!
