I do suffer from anxiety so its all part and parcel of it.

justilou1 · 08/08/2019 01:17

Hi @NotAnActualSheep! Just checking in! I have been doing assignments. I have at least one due per week until November. (Kill me now!) Also been sitting on kids to make them do their own assignments. My son in particular is needing extra attention and is not loving it. (GAH!) DH has just returned from a seven week work trip to find that I might be slightly resentful when he thinks he gets an opinion. I think “Under Siege” is a good description. Haven’t been shopping!

justilou1 · 08/08/2019 06:23

@neveradullmoment99, @SoyYo, @Laska2Meryls& @dontcallmelen -love your hauls! You have been very successful! I might have done some serious damage today. Can’t take photos until tomorrow as have to rush out and pick up kids. A couple of basic tees, some dog-walking shorts, a black dress and two gorgeous boho summer dresses. They will be photographed for you tomorrow (my time.) Ooooh, and beaded sandals made by fairies! (Love them!)
Hair news, too. Went to new derm who eyerolled at previous advice. Said that women shouldn’t just have to suck it up. I have autoimmune issues exacerbating early menopausal female-pattern baldness AND telogen effluvium. (Confirmed what my GP and I both thought originally.) Going to trial combined low dose oral minoxidil and spironolactone. Hope I don’t grow a goatee.

Laska2Meryls · 08/08/2019 08:39

I have given the Jayne dresses a go..

twosoups1972 · 08/08/2019 12:11

Hi @justilou1 can’t wait to see the beaded sandals.

justilou1 · 08/08/2019 14:05

@twousoups- surprise visit from friend from USA. Much wine ingested. Sandals will be photographed tomorrow when able to focus. X

SoyYo · 08/08/2019 14:45

justi I’m super pleased to read the dermatologist was sympathetic and please keep us posted on how it goes 🙏 And would love to see your new purchases, specially the sandals made by fairies 🧚‍♀️

twosoups1972 · 08/08/2019 15:37

How lovely @justilou1 enjoy the wine and spending time with your friend Smile

GinandGingerBeer · 08/08/2019 16:22

Hello! Sorry I've not been on for ages..... I'm having a mass clear out as we've decided to put the house on the market (be a while yet as it needs quite a bit of work first) but I made a start with the bedroom and the spare room. A dozen binliners to charity so far (all mine 😳) and countless bags of junk await collection. So I'm trying to have a bit of a break from MN as otherwise it's just too tempting/ time just evaporates on here, it's like it speeds up! Not to mention I'm totally knackered. Just sat down for a magnum (still on the magnum version of the 800 diet and it's going well GrinGrinGrin)
Glad toast finally sorted you out cherries! No apology then I take it? Angry

Laska2Meryls · 08/08/2019 21:32

I got home late to find Paula skirt waiting, its nice, and ill most likely keep, It fits well but but its narrow and I think id be happier with a 14, so will see if one comes up.

ill post a photo tomorrow

justilou1 · 09/08/2019 02:39

Have decided to go back to the fairy sandal shop and do some more damage. There were bargains too good to walk away from. Will upload later!

dontcallmelen · 09/08/2019 09:54

just I sooo need fairy sandals in my life, look forward to seeing pics have a lovely time with your friend.
Gin good luck with the sorting out, magnum 800 diet sounds perfect😂

dontcallmelen · 09/08/2019 09:56

Just hope the new medication regime helps & new dermatologist sounds a lot more sympathetic.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/08/2019 11:05

That's a pity about the paula skirt @Laska2Meryls but surely you are better keeping if you are losing weight.
Fairy sandals shop sounds delightful @justilou1
@GinandGingerBeer good luck with the sorting and clearing out.
It is downright miserable today. I feel really tired today. Might have a wee sleep. Its so dismal.
Decided to return a whole batch of things including the bag, skirt, scarf. Just don't need it so feel I am doing the right thing.

dontcallmelen · 09/08/2019 11:33

never definitely have a sleep, it’s very odd here raining & windy but very sticky/close I have a banging headache.
If you don’t feel you need any of it, probably for the best.
Yippee I have a empty house, dgd gone off with friends of dd, dd & her Dh are over at the flat sorting what’s going to the rental/storage, the drying specialist came & kitchen/shower/bathroom walls have to come down bathrooms/kitchen stripped out & replaced walls re plastered floors taken up & replaced😱

neveradullmoment99 · 09/08/2019 11:40

Sounds like a major job @melen.
I have kept the dress and the jumpsuit as I love them. I also did sneak an order with JL of the zebra flip flop slides from Hush. I had to size up but they are keepers at £35 and not too bad a price.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/08/2019 11:43

I am also mindful that I am losing weight and I am getting back into my clothes [size 12] however I realise that I have about a stone to lose so thinking some things are going to be too big so don't want to purchase too much while I am in the 'transition' stage. If I have a stone to lose, I will probably fit a 10!

Huffthepuff · 09/08/2019 11:55

Sounds sensible Never, glad you are keeping the dress and jumpsuit though!

Laska2Meryls · 09/08/2019 12:08

I think i will be keepin git never , gotta go out now , but will try and post a photo later,
Its fine , it fits well, not tight at all , and looks good I think, esp with the matching top , I think id just would have preferred it if the style was bit more flared .. no 14s have appeared so far anyway , but probably , it wouldn't make that much difference anyway.

The check shirt and the Jayne dresses (i ordered both!) should be here today Smile

justilou1 · 09/08/2019 13:08

Sorry - my life was not my own today. I will upload photos tomorrow. I need to clean the house, so these procrastinations will be lovely diversions. I need some dyeing advice from @Laska if that's okay. What brand do you use? I have a fabulous boho kaftan/dress that I bought for a song, and it is lovely, but white and rather transparent. To be honest, it makes me look rather like an extra from a sword & sandal movie - almost biblical, tbh. If I dye it, I think it will be MUCH more practical. Of course, choosing a colour will be difficult! Oh, and it's viscose, which supposedly dyes well. Anyhow, I miiiiight have bought three more summer dresses. Don't let me go back there!

dontcallmelen · 09/08/2019 14:35

Just, Laska is definitely the expert on dyeing she has had some great success with stuff she has done.
Picture of the bargain next sandals half price at £16.00

Posted too soon, they are a sort of raffia across the foot bit.

Laska2Meryls · 09/08/2019 15:45

justlou I use Dylon Machine dye (can you get it there?)

I have also tried RIT dye (which you can buy on Amazon, its supposedly for hand dyeing, but I have used it in my machine , but remember to add salt, its all in the instructions ).

Dont machine dye if your machine is a washer dryer though. (mine isn't but cherries had trouble with dye transfer using it in hers)

Ok here is my haul.. I am pretty pleased.
Linda Shirt (size down, this is a 10) done up and how I have worn it so far today with Hush olive vest under .....I put it on haven't taken it off!
and pink paradise T bargain at £12, great colours and wonderfully 1950s retro.
This pic makes it look a bit lumpy on me , but i was bending forward trying to get a photo of the logo .

Paula skirt coming next..

Paula skirt , this is the 12 and I think its ok, the style is narrower than I like, but DH (who has a good fashion eye) also says keep .
Here with matching top ( although the top is a bit darker, but i think it works still) and then Green Hush vest .. I think I might like it better like that!

Both Jayne dresses looked utterly terrible on , and have gone straight back, I also s didn't like the fabric ,( sort of heavy thick and a bit shiny..) But I do remember both the black and the leopard looking great on ella and never so perhaps its just me ..

it would work better (that dark top) without the bulges! , but I am working on them...
