This summer I decided to be tan. Its changed my life.

Well.... Not changed my life. But certainty changed my self image for the better.

It's true what they say - tanned fat is a lot nicer looking than pasty fat.

This summer I've been using tanning drops in my body lotion 3 or 4 times a week. My legs are a mass of spider veins, but the colour makes them less obvious and I've worn a denim skirt a lot this summer for the first time in years. Yesterday I bought denim shorts!!!

Ive started using it in my face moisturiser and whilst I still need something for the dark circles, I look a hell of a lot better without makeup.

My arms look lovely, all warm and sleek.

3 different people have asked me if I've lost weight. I haven't!

It's startling how different this summer has been just because of this one thing. I feel like one of those other women now. Those women you see wearing shorts and sleeveless tops who always looked so healthy. Maybe this was their secret all along and nobody told me???

This sounds great, what sort of moisturiser do you use? I'm guessing it might have to be quite light. Do you just give it a good shake to mix it up?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/07/2019 13:21

vegan so guilt free

With cosmetics , vegan doesn't always equal Cruelty Free , it just means no animal by-products. I often search on Vegan products and find no data to support them being Cruelty Free (which to me is more important . I use honey for example)

Steps down from SoapBox there Wink

IoP is cruelty free , my DD uses the Mousse and really rates it . .

BrieAndChilli · 28/07/2019 13:25

Is it instant or do you have to do it for weeks to take effect? Going on holiday on 2 weeks so could do with some colour!! Does it wash off or does it stay ok for a while?

ElspethFlashman · 28/07/2019 13:26

I just use some cheap Nivea stuff. It can be anything! You glob the lotion into your hand, then glob some drops into it and mix between your palms and whack on willy nilly.

You won't be able to scrub it all off you're just scrubbing off your dry skin but the tan isn't wash off and won't come off with soap.

I probably put it on every other time I shower, it kinda depends on how it's looking (and the weather forecast!)

My top tip is to open both bottles first as when you have a palm full of lotion it's hard to open the tan bottle with one hand! 😂 Made that mistake a few times!

You’re clearly exaggerating about the thread veins and your weight. My legs are literally a mass of veins. If I took that photo, you would see a lot of blue / red.

ElspethFlashman · 28/07/2019 13:30

Oh and I NEVER do my whole body. No way.?

At the moment I do arms, face, legs and boobs.

In the winter I'd just do arms and face and as far down as a necklace would go.

Fair fucks to people who do their whole bodies if theyre just at home but I think it's a bit of a waste of product.

Wowsers. I am deffo getting some of that! Question... Does it smell? Even tinted moisturisers I've used that promise a "summer scent" stink bloody awful and I swear everyone I walk past will know I've got some sort of fake tan product on.

EvaHarknessRose · 28/07/2019 13:36

Can’t see many great reviews.

ArchMemory · 28/07/2019 13:37

Do you work in the Isle of Paradise marketing department OP Grin I’ve never heard of them and now my finger is hovering over the Boots website.

Bellasblankexpression · 28/07/2019 13:42

I had these - also very fair - and found they went really patchy on me no matter what I tried, couldn’t get the colour evenly and they had a strange smell :(
I really wanted to like them but couldn’t get on with them. Glad you like them though OP!

ElspethFlashman · 28/07/2019 13:43

I don't really smell anything tbh.

There are a few other brands of tanning drops out there. I just haven't tried any others!

Delatron · 28/07/2019 13:48

I couldn’t get on with the Isle of Paradise spray though. Anything colourless doesn’t work for me as I mess it up and can’t remember where I’ve put it! The tinted mousse is fool proof and no smell.

WildfirePonie · 28/07/2019 14:02

I just ordered a bottle on Ebay. Hope it changes my life too Grin

escape · 28/07/2019 14:05

So this thread has made me have a look see and IoP now have 30% off everything with code OWNYOURGLOW - I am neither customer (yet) nor work for them - just sharing the love!

escapade1234 · 28/07/2019 14:06

Have a tan.
Be tanned.

Not be tan.

Benjispruce · 28/07/2019 14:06

It's not the tanned legs OP it's those slippers, very sexy! Wink

Seriously though, I agree, brown fat is better than white fat. I use Dove daily light to medium tan every few days. If I want to be darker I use St Moritz as it gives instant colour you can see wilt it develops.
Can't be arsed to get a real tan and don't want to damage my skin.

Simple things eh?

Benjispruce · 28/07/2019 14:08

I've got Clarins tan drops for the face(they were a gift) but forget to use them. Will try later.

Delatron · 28/07/2019 14:09

Love the clarins drops!

Benjispruce · 28/07/2019 14:10

Oh I always do the whole body for me. Make me look half a stone lighter for a start and gives me a boost . Have a weird mental image of your brown boobs on your white body now Grin

spacedone · 28/07/2019 14:10

Eco tanning water is incredible too. And does get great reviews.

VenusTiger · 28/07/2019 14:14

@ElspethFlashman 😂😂 your photo made me lol
Thanks for this tip! I’m blonde, freckle and pale and I’m going to try this too!

VenusTiger · 28/07/2019 14:17

@spacedone I’ve bought that, been sitting on my shelves for weeks - still haven’t used it yet... is it any good?

spacedone · 28/07/2019 14:24

@VenusTiger it's great. Always looks natural and can be built up gradually. It won't be patchy either. I also love that there's no moisturiser or lotion to it so when applying to my face it's not residue-y if that makes sense.

Bellasblankexpression · 28/07/2019 14:26

Is eco water drops as well? Is it clear when it goes on?

spacedone · 28/07/2019 14:30

It's just like water. You put wet a cotton bud and wipe it over your face. It gradually adds colour.

I think they all also do a body lotion and a body water spray.
