White jeans.... yes or no?

So I've recently bought myself a pair of white jeans from River Island.

I'm 31, 5"6 and a size 12.

My (much) younger sister saw them and told me they were a fashion disaster, and a few comments on the AIBU boards are making me thing that's the general opinion.

So.... white jeans, yes or no?! I thought they'd be fab for summer with a bright top but now I'm not sure I want to wear them out in public!! Help!

I love my white jeans! I had no idea about this perception of white jeans 😱

I'll still wear them though. I do tend to wear darker colours with them and some nice sandles, or even rolled up a bit with converse occasionally. They do only make an appearance in the summer though.

I think they look good. Why wouldn't they?
Obviously it's a summer look and it depends what you put with them.

I wear white jeans. I’m v small and they look fine on me. I don’t care if people don’t like them. As long as they fit they look good.

I just think they are a bit dated

I wear them turned up with either converse or tan sandals and a navy floaty top. I also like them with a stripey top but I think that might be classed as dated but I like that look so don't really care.

Oh I love my white/off white jeans but a more relaxed shape rather than tight skinnies. I got a bargainous pair of MIH from asos recently (now wondering why they were such a bargain 🤔). Wear what you like, it's unlikely you'll be arrested by the fashion police, maybe just sneered at a little.

I love them I've got a ripped pair from topshop and a normal skinny pair from new look both look gorgeous with a tan and a blouse and sandals

I think Liz Hurley looks good in them. You could say bodysuits are dated too but everything comes back in! Wear what you want.

And no you don’t need to be a size 8 to wear them

I love my (off) white jeans. I'm 44 but still like to keep somewhat on trend. However, I do think they probably aren't particularly trendy. I have both skinny - years old - and really flattering and cropped wide legged - last year's. My much younger colleagues (20s) have complimented both when I've worn them recently so happy enough to keep going with them.

My tall sister in law makes them look like chic riviera wear. But broadly, I'd say no.

Definitely don’t need to be size 8, how ridiculous and they’ve definitely had a revival

I just bought my first pair (since 1991) and they are flares! I was not sure about it, on the rack, but with a nice leather sandal (3 inch heel) Navy blouse and basket bag, it looks amazing.

Also I'm five ten and a size 16 , still rock it

I have no idea how you keep white jeans clean. I can guarantee that within seconds they'd be dirty if I wore them.

I'd have said No, but a friend suggested I buy a cropped pair to take on holiday as I'm tall & she thought they'd suit me, so I got some & I loved them. I admit they haven't been out of the wardrobe since I got home, though, so maybe I'll just keep them for holiday wear.
