Does anyone own it? I see at least one person a day wearing it!

It's fugly as hell on the willowy types, and worse on everyone else.

greenstargazer · 25/07/2019 05:09

Just had a look at @hot4thespot in IG and it really is hideous and unflattering on everyone on there. It looks a lot better in the picture where it is dyed yellow.

Almahart · 25/07/2019 06:30

I saw it on three people yesterday and it looked good on all of them

Don’t need any more clothes but would love to dye it navy I bet that looks great

funmummy48 · 25/07/2019 06:40

One of my colleagues has it. She looks lovely in it but to be fair, she could wear a plastic bag & still look lovely!

evilharpy · 25/07/2019 06:42

I think it’s lovely but oversized things don’t suit me at all.

Skittlesandbeer · 25/07/2019 08:27

Mid-80’s princess di. Especially with white shoes. Missing only a sailor hat, and a white purse with gold buckle. And perhaps a spritz of Youth Dew.

Can anyone post a pic of it looking good, styled for 2019? I frankly don’t believe it’s possible.

DontCallMeShitley · 25/07/2019 08:45

Sheep...
Let's all go and buy the same dress because someone put it online and said how great it is.
But it isn't, it's just a big baggy cover up thing.

BuntyCollocks · 25/07/2019 09:17

I got it before the hype. Love it. Going to dress it up for a wedding.

See here for where people have dyed it.

I've got it, and I love it. It's cool and airy and comfortable. I'm a size 14/16 and I bought a L. It skims on me, and doesn't look 'sack-y' at all. Actually I think it makes me look taller. I bought it because I loved it, and not because of trend

I can understand that it's not everyone's bag, but if you like it what's the problem?

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 25/07/2019 09:36

I have it, I really like it! It’s lovely and light for a hot day. I resent the implication that I’m a sheep to be honest. Unless you get all your clothes custom made or only buy unique vintage pieces there will be thousands of people with the same clothes as you anyway, this isn’t really any different. And I’m 5 foot 2 and a DD cup, so hardly willowy, and I look GREAT in it.

Hollycatberry · 25/07/2019 09:47

Lots of women here opting for loose, billowy (verging on puffy) clothes as a heat antidote, so the silhouette was of the moment

Totally agree with this. I work in a city centre and have been observing what people are wearing in this warm weather. Seeing lots of midi skirts, midi dresses, looser cut trousers or culottes with baggy tshirts tucked in. Seems like the loose cut clothing is really popular but people still looked quite smart and polished despite the heat. More muted colours like navy, beige, grey and dusky pink. I did not see too many bright colours or big flowery prints, which probably look a bit dated now. Slides, trainers and brogues seemed to be in over sandals and heels.

I saw some really lovely outfits to be honest. I think oversized clothing is having a moment, seeing lots of advice from style blogs to 'size' up.

MissClareRemembers · 25/07/2019 10:01

It’s like last year’s spotty M&S dress with the orange stripe down the side. PR departments send it to Instagram influencers and it grows from there.

Personally, I’d love crap in it. Totally the shape to wear it.

I quite like it when these “hot items” appear everywhere; even if the actual item of clothing isn’t for me, it makes me look at clothes in a different way and try out different styles.

MissClareRemembers · 25/07/2019 10:01

LOOK crap in it! Not love crap!!!!

MohairMenace · 25/07/2019 10:14

I think it’s refreshing to see a dress that looks a million times better on the consumer than it does on the model.

I also think the dots and oversized shape make it fun and summery, must be heaven on a day like today!

Rainsfallandwindsblow · 25/07/2019 10:22

🤮

ReturnofSaturn · 25/07/2019 10:47

It's definitely a dress that only looks good on very slim women imo.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 25/07/2019 11:45

Zara is out of my price range (unless I find some in a charity shop) but if it wasn't would I buy it ? Yes I probably would to be honest . Looks cool and flowing but could be a little shorter is my only criticism

slipperyeel · 25/07/2019 12:23

Totally agree @MohairMenace - I’ve seen it on all shapes and sizes and I think it’s suited and looked lovely on all of them. I can’t believe everyone would wear it just because it’s on Instagram. It’s cool and comfortable, modest (suitable for the office or cultures who prefer to dress modestly) and can be dressed up or down.
