LightOfAThousandStars · 20/07/2019 13:42

Please help me find a cross body bag to take away on holiday to keep my passport and purse in. Anything affordable would be a bonus Grin. Thanks x

I've recommended this before because it's a great price, I have dusky pink but there are loads of colours www.myexquisiteshop.com/products/camila-small-shoulder-bagel-bag

Otherwise marks had some nylon ones that were quite nice.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/07/2019 14:20

Define affordable!

I just got a nice one in the Jigsaw sale. I've also got one that was very cheap (£30 for leather) in the White Stuff sale. M&S and Clarks sometimes have cheap leather ones too.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 20/07/2019 14:55

Oh Remus I remember, you got the red Jigsaw one was it?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/07/2019 15:18

Yes to red!

This White Stuff one is cute but not sure if round will be terribly practical! They have others (not round) in the sale, too.

TattiePants · 20/07/2019 15:30

I’d second the one @luxurywoman2018 suggested. Mine are from Love LoLo but it’s the same bag. I have one in navy and one in dusky pink and they’re really versatile.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 20/07/2019 15:39

@TattiePants yes they are versatile, I hadn’t used crossbody bags since my dd was a baby but I’m converted, the one you and I have is just big enough isn’t it?

Longdistance · 20/07/2019 15:53

Have look on Zalando. There’s loads on there and in the sale. Lots of different brands, you’ll be there hours browsing Grin btw, they are affordable brands with few ‘designer’ thrown in.

Beebumble2 · 20/07/2019 16:26

Have a look at Spirit bags, on Amazon, they’re tailor made for holiday travel with lots of pockets etc.

Chanellta · 20/07/2019 17:19

Ha, Tattie and Luxury I have that bag too, it's lovely. I follow exquisite on social media and they have a code summer20 for 20% off this week I saw on Instagram.

There are sales all over the place at the moment so you should be able to get a good bargain OP.

TattiePants · 20/07/2019 19:19

Thanks for the tip about the 20% off. I really struggled to decide which colours to buy so I may have to add another to my collection.....

Yogagirl123 · 20/07/2019 19:21

Kipling are good, lightweight, nice colour ways etc. Not too pricey either.

mamaduckbone · 20/07/2019 19:24

A different type of bag but I really like these. They are quite tiny though - just about room for a phone, keys and purse.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 20/07/2019 19:29

Tattie I’m tempted another too, I think I’m missing a cream bag 😃 quite like the coffee colour too.

Those Nicky James ones are cute, not really my thing but I can see why people would like them

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/07/2019 19:39

I'd (personally) buy Kipling or Mai Tui , but if you put Kipling into Amazon you also bring up very similar (for far less )

I'd buy one like that if it was a lightcoloured , throw about bag that I didn't want to bother about if it got grubby (my Kipling bags go in the wash)

KatharinaRosalie · 20/07/2019 20:15

Get a bumbag instead. They are in again and much more practical.

GatherlyGal · 20/07/2019 20:25

I've just bought one of these

rokalondon.com/collections/paddington-our-round-bags-back-pack-cross-body

Love it. Waterproof, perfect size, zips up.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 21/07/2019 09:18

I’m never sure about round bags, don’t you lose a lot of space? They look good but I’m not sure how practical they are.

JohnandMary · 21/07/2019 10:20

I recently bought the Roka Paddington linked by @GatherlyGal after seeing it recommended on here. You can cram quite a lot in. Mine currently has purse, sunglasses in case, 3 passports, 2 phones, reusable shopping bag, car keys and I could fit my husband’s wallet and phone in too if I had to.

ReeReeR · 21/07/2019 10:26

Not sure what your budget is but would recommend TK Maxx

This Radley one is £49.99

carrie74 · 21/07/2019 11:05

I've got 2 small rectangular bags like the ones linked above - one is silver from Gap about 5 years ago, the other is black from Kate Spade (US Outlet so bargain). They're both brilliant, just fit everything I need without being too heavy to cart around all day sightseeing.

I also recently bought a wicker round bag for the ASOS sale: www.asos.com/south-beach/south-beach-exclusive-round-straw-bag-with-detachable-cross-body-strap/prd/11429870?clr=natural&colourWayId=16347946&SearchQuery=round%20bag. I used it for a weekend city break, and it was fine but just a smidge less practical, and the straw snagged on my jersey dresses a bit. But it looked very stylish 😂

Grumpyoldblonde · 21/07/2019 18:00

That's the only thing that puts me off straw bags, snagging because they do look good.

PancakeAndKeith · 21/07/2019 18:01

Mia Tui every time. I usually take a couple on holiday. One big one for going through the airport and a smaller one for everyday stuff.

tierraJ · 21/07/2019 18:06

Got this cute & useful one that I took on holiday, £20 from Mantaray at Debenhams

Oh god just realised you can see my leg & the cat hair on the sheet in that pic oops!!

MadeinBelfast · 21/07/2019 18:15

How affordable do you want it to be? New Look can have some good bargains. How about this?
