Which dress shape, if any, with pics

I’m 5’2, dumpy and need new sun dresses for ambling about in, on holiday. Shirts and a vest- shorter shorts- are ok, as legs aren’t too bad, but I like a dress to feel a bit less trussed up, on trips out. And also I’m awful with heat and get hot and sticky very easily. Not nice. I’ve ordered 3 shape to try - are any better/ worse? I’m 14 and big of tummy and hip. Thank you lovely lot. I’m also struggling to get anything too structured on (post dislocated shoulder) so need a bit of give or wide neckline if open - though I’m getting better at hanging upside down and feeding clothes into my straightened arms. Bras still impossible but by holiday I hope to be back in a non stretch one. Grin

I like the middle one on you the best. Not sure if it's the shape or the print but I do think it looks the nicest

babysharkah · 20/07/2019 11:31

Middle one

Milliy · 20/07/2019 11:35

I likethe middle one. The other two look Viscose/polyester which will definitely make you sweat.

GlamGiraffe · 20/07/2019 11:36

Definitely the Middle one, very slimming and nice shape and cut, followed by first one. Dont like the dark colured one, I personally think its not the most flattering

AstroKate · 20/07/2019 11:39

Firstly-you have a lovely figure and I am very jealous so stop beating yourself up!!

I'm afraid I disagree with all of the above-sorry folks! I think the middle one is an ok shape but the pattern is horrendous. Vertical stripes just make you look like one big rectangle and draws the eye to lumps and bumps

My fav is the last one. I think it gives you really nice curves and the pattern is quite in at the moment !

But it's all a matter of taste and whatever you feel comfortable in!

You look lovely 😊

AstroKate · 20/07/2019 11:40

I actually wonder if you could go a size smaller in the last one as it looks a little bit for you?

AstroKate · 20/07/2019 11:40

Grrrr *big

Ohyesiam · 20/07/2019 11:41

Middle

Lizzielocket · 20/07/2019 11:43

The middle one! Is it from Next?
In the week I noticed they had some gorgeous plain linen shift dresses in.
Go all natural fibres to keep cooler.

JaneR0chester · 20/07/2019 11:45

Not the first red, dotty one - I don't like the straps.

The 2nd and 3rd are a much nicer shape on you.

Would you consider a longer length though? Plenty of floaty midi/maxi dresses around.

Corcra · 20/07/2019 11:46

I like the third one too. I think the shape is the most flattering. And you can wear it casually or dress it up with wedges and some jewelry.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 20/07/2019 11:48

Thanks all. I liked the first one then looked at pic and thought against it. Love the fabric and pattern of the linen middle one- yes, Next. Last one I could maybe order size down. It felt comfy. Maybe more a night time one when it’s cooler. I would indeed do longer but they’d have to be petite. I can’t wear anything long in standard length and can’t risk another tumble in anything super long Confused. Any nice petite maxis anywhere??

I nearly really like the first. It just looks a tiny bit pulling.

fuckingtwats · 20/07/2019 11:52

The third one looks much better than the others! Agree with PP.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 20/07/2019 12:12

Yes the red does “pull” across aforementioned gutteridge..

Middle one
I would go down a size if you can in my experience both next and M n S linen dresses stretch a bit after wearing for an hour or two
By the end of the day they can be tent like if you’ve gone for next size up
There are some in sale at moment too

gubbsywubbsy · 20/07/2019 12:16

Do you have a waist ? I'm a similar shape and size to you but I wear more fitted / waisted dresses . I think they are more flattering.

Insertdeadcatsnamehere · 20/07/2019 13:00

Don't like the first one. The other 2 look really good.

The first one doesn't suit your shape or fit very well, the third one isn't very summery and I don't really like the pattern. The middle one is definitely the best.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 20/07/2019 14:31

I do have a waist yes but not found anything fitted at waist then skimming on my tummy...
Any fitted suggestions from the lady who said she’s got a waist please? Thank you!!

I like the third one best. I think a v neck dress would be ideal for you.
Second one is ok, first one in all honesty looks too small.

Ellapaella · 20/07/2019 14:34

The third one is a perfect fit for you imo. A v neck maxi dress would also suit you.

KTD27 · 20/07/2019 14:36

Op you have cracking legs! That is all Grin
