Dog whistle racism is basically hidden/coded racism:
First, politicians force race into the conversation through “thinly veiled” racist remarks against people of color. Second, they make sure to not directly reference any one racial or ethnic group, so they can’t be accused of direct racism. And third, they shame any critics who try to call them out on the racist comments.

Is a good overview :)
A classic example is Trump picking out four women of colour (out of all the Democrats currently campaigning against him), saying they’re anti-American because they are campaigning, and on top of that saying they should “go home” to improve their own “homes”. He’s basically saying they don’t belong in the States, they never did, they’re not true citizens because of their ethnicity, and implying in the Bush way of things that you’re either with us or against us- there also seems to be the implication that trump and his base decide who “belongs”, who is American, and that non-whites should even be grateful to be in the US: but importantly he never outright said any of this. But his base knows what he means, we all do.
Personally I’d rather be eaten by a pig than spend seconds in the proximity with any of these people. Suppose that’s part of the problem, America seems in parts a very divided society. Like an identity crisis, it needs to think what it wants to be. Trump seems to represent an attempt to all live in some dream of 90s white America, not the ideals it was actually based on and not recognising its actual history and the experiences of all the non-whites citizens who built the country.
Anyway...
I’d love to see more gowns
