Would it bother you if your doctor was wearing shoes like these?

I love them, but can't really justify them unless I wear them for work, at least sometimes. They have loads of styles - some are definitely innappropriate but wondered if some would be ok. Rest of outfit is usually colourful but fairly smart/ conservative.

Wouldn’t bother me at all if my Dr was wearing these.

Would probably put me more at ease actually, that my Dr is clearly human and has a personality. Far less intimidating than a navy suit & court shoes!

Realitea · 17/07/2019 18:20

I’d love it and I think I would feel instantly at ease!

Paramicha · 17/07/2019 18:21

well looking at the prices they are aimed at high earners, like doctors. I can afford £20 for a pair of shoes or pumps, would love some of these though.

NeckPainChairSearch · 17/07/2019 18:21

It will be a cold day in hell before I listen to any flibberty gibbet trying to cure me whilst wearing a 'fun' shoe.

I listen to darkly hued brogues and that's fucking IT.

HeadintheiClouds · 17/07/2019 18:24

They show the doctor is clearly human, skyblu?! What a strange comment.

One of the mums at the school has a proff job and wears Irregular Choice shoes everyday with a smart suit and Bambi or a cat or something else awful on her shoes and I'm just getting used to them but if I see my GP in these I will def judge.

Did you mean “not aimed at high earners”? They’re £65. Confused

LittleCandle · 17/07/2019 18:27

Not to my taste, but given some of the shocking footwear I see junior (and not so junior!) doctors wearing in the hospital that I work in, I wouldn't bat an eye at those.

DragonforaMIL · 17/07/2019 18:29

I love to see people in funky shoes. It shows that you are human and can be a talking point. Go for it and ignore the really boring people who said its unprofessional. It's no different to a funky tie or top Grin

Heratnumber7 · 17/07/2019 18:30

I was wearing Harry Potter daps today. I am good at my serious, managerial office job

Paramicha · 17/07/2019 18:35

Purple

I consider it to be high earners who can afford these shoes. I love them though.
Anyone know where I could get some similar ones cheaper?
I'm weird though and earn just what we need, so stuff like this doesn't happen, at this price.

daisyjgrey · 17/07/2019 18:35

I don't think I've ever even noticed what shoes my dr is wearing.
You could be wearing thigh highs with fishnets and a top hat and I wouldn't be arsed if you knew what you were doing.

I'm quite heavily tattooed though and find people oddly narrow minded when you're in a professional environment. Quirky shoes or tattoos don't change someones qualifications and skill set. People are odd.

bmbonanza · 17/07/2019 18:35

Wouldn't bother me at all. I wouldn't wear them -more of a Docs kinda girl- but you go go for it - doesn't change your competence as a doc at all!

ahmadsmom2015 · 17/07/2019 18:39

I know exactly where you are coming from but maybe she just needed something to brighten up her hard long day. Or maybe they could be super super comfy. I would think oh my gosh okay but I wouldn’t charge her for it. You never know

jarhead123 · 17/07/2019 18:44

They're amazing! Wouldnt judge at all

AlaskanOilBaron · 17/07/2019 18:53

I think they're silly, but I wouldn't care.

Different strokes, etc.

wooo69 · 17/07/2019 18:59

It wouldn’t bother me, the only footwear that has ever disturbed me was being worn by a physiotherapist. I’m there laid face down with my fave in the hole in the bed so I could see his feet. He had trainers on with separate toes, it was freaky and I had to tell him so.

Rachie1973 · 17/07/2019 19:03

I think they’re fun. It wouldn’t bother me at all.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 17/07/2019 19:05

It wouldn't bother me - I would certainly comment on them (in a positive and admiring way).

ControversialFerret · 17/07/2019 19:08

I like them and it wouldn't bother me at all.

I saw the nurse practitioner today - she was in a loose, brightly coloured sundress and flip flops. I thought she looked nice and was appropriately dressed for the weather (boiling - and her consultation room has no air con and is hotter than the sun!).

I care more about how I'm treated. My GP practice is fab, because the staff are bloody lovely. Receptionists are great, all of the docs and nurses are nice. That's more important to me than what someone's wearing.

JocastaJones · 17/07/2019 19:09

My consultant dresses like she's ready to hit the town for a few treble vodkas and a night at the Ritzy at any given moment. I know the average hospital ward is hotter than a thumping nightclub but they are very different environments. I'd appreciate the shoes in comparison.

groundanchochillipowder · 17/07/2019 19:10

Wouldn't bother me at all.

ButterflyBitch · 17/07/2019 19:10

I’ve literally never looked at a Doctors feet. Ever. I don’t care what you wear on your feet so long as you can do your job.

BogglesGoggles · 17/07/2019 19:12

Nope. Assuming you are NHS your patients aren’t even paying for their care so it’s not like it matters if you put them off. The only context in which I think professional clothing is necessary is in (paying) client facing roles purely because the wrong clothes could loose business.

TooManyPups · 17/07/2019 19:14

Haven't rad tft so not sure if anyone has said it already but as a doctor the pill ones would amuse me...

... Life is too short and miserable to give a stuff what anyone else thinks anyway... Wear a pair of shoes that brightens your day!
