Would it bother you if your doctor was wearing shoes like these?

I love them, but can't really justify them unless I wear them for work, at least sometimes. They have loads of styles - some are definitely innappropriate but wondered if some would be ok. Rest of outfit is usually colourful but fairly smart/ conservative.

If my doctor was barefoot and wearing a bikini I would mind too much if I could get in to see her!

I'm not sure it would bother me, more I'd wonder what was wrong with you to wish to wear what appears to be little girl shoes in a professional environment,

Our family GP (God bless her she's retired now but she was simply the best) used to wear a patent t-bar dolly shoe. My gran and mother used to really comment on it. Honestly? Wear them. It might even lighten difficult situations. :)

I’d think they were cute but very inappropriate. I’d think there was a side of you that was attention seeking, and as a professional with access to people’s inner lives that would be slightly worrying.

A lot of NHS staff dress a bit differently in my experience so I wouldn’t bat an eyelid. If you’re a GP chances are most people wouldn’t even notice your shoes.

And I’m an adult woman doing a serous professional job. Today I’m doing it in sparkly trainers.

I love them serious at the top but party on your feet I think they would give patients a smile at least. I had a urologist who wore quirky bow ties it gave me somethi g cheery to think about when the news wasn't always great.

Wearing them with fairly boring clothes would be fine.
If the rest of your outfit matched the shoes I’d be a bit taken back.

They'd make me smile and see you as the sort of person who is professional but not boring!!
Better than muddy crocs like one of our GP's wears, or heeled sandals tied at the back with a bow like another GP.....and at least you'd be able to run in those in an emergency!

I wouldn’t judge but I agree with others, I’m not sure you’re sending the right message wearing that kind of thing when you’re a doctor potentially dealing with really quite desperate situations and/or people’s confidential health matters.

I’m also interested in why on Earth you feel you need to justify to yourself having a pair of shoes that really makes you happy? Why shouldn’t you have those shoes to wear outside of work, just because you love them.

I wouldn’t feel any guilt at all about buying them, nor any need to justify it.

It’s a misery working in the NHS at the moment so whatever brightens your day and bollocks to anyone who says otherwise.

They are fine apart from the smiley face ones. They would be very unprofessional to wear when giving serious or distressing news to patients.

I don't care what a doctor wears as long as I can get an appt.

They're only like Crocs and loads of Health care professionals wear them.

My consultant wears a Mr Man tie,makes me laugh when I see him

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest either (as long as your professional skills are good of course!) In fact, a couple of years back, I was unfortunate enough to be lying on the floor semi-conscious (all fine now! ) being treated by an emergency doc and as I came around, I was amused to see that she was wearing glittery gold ankle boots! She was a fab doctor and I felt considerably better within half an hour of being treated by her!
