If so what do you wear?

I'm more comfortable in a dress as I have a horrible tummy post c section, losing weight and getting down to 8-10 didn't hide the flap of fat/skin. Just lost my boobs, so now I'm back to my normal size 12.

I'm after some nice dresses to wear to work, that I can just put with some comfy flats and be off. Happy with any colour, like shift, tunic dresses but they still need to be reasonably smart ish.

Where do you look?

Jaeger
Hobbs
Banana republic
Sometimes Boden

@DelurkingAJ I'm 5,7 and often pick a nice dress but put it on and it's just a bit too high above the knee for work.

I also wear flats so wearing something with a swooshy skirt like this I'm not sure looks as good with flats.

Whistles is amazing for classic dresses in this style that are smart but forgiving

Materials vary but usually great quality

I wear with tights and heels in winter and bare legs and flats in summer

Love them and have in loads of colours

Phase Eight is brilliant for work dresses. Smart, well fitted and comfy!

Gwenhwyfar · 15/07/2019 21:31

Oasis and Warehouse though the shape is not my preferred. They tend to be A-lines/skaters whereas I'd prefer straight shift dresses.

I'm often drawn to it as they have a lot of shift dresses, but in the end always find the dresses a bit too long, to ageing and too expensive. I have a similar opinion of Hobbs.

That green dress is amazing, but I think it would really benefit from a bit of a heel. Where's it from?

Jaffacakebeast · 15/07/2019 22:26

I’m not going to lie, a few bits from everything 5 pound.com have gone straight in the big, but I’ve been buying things for a few years so not many. Most of it is new look/next type stuff with the tags out. I’ve had 2 pairs of Levi’s though. Also some nice quality dresses with designers I’ve never heard of but wash really well

I'm the same size and looking for dresses in natural fibres that I can wear with flat sandals when it's warm and chelsea boots in autumn/winter. So place marking!

I have some lovely jersey dresses from Brora, last forever and don’t need ironing
They are expensive full price but I have always got mine in the sales

stucknoue · 16/07/2019 10:28

All kinds of places, M&S, H&M, next, new look, my go to though is bravissimo because I'm ample sized in that department!

TheCatThatDanced · 16/07/2019 10:42

Work dresses for work I tend to buy from:-

H&M
Warehouse suit/smart range
Mango suit
Oasis

Hobbs if super smart
