The Halo Trust do landmine clearing & removal of war debris. Is Harry a patron?
I couldn't see on their website www.halotrust.org/
unless I wasn't looking properly.
It's a great organisation but it's a shame they're needed, if people didn't plant the the bloody land mines in the first place or make them.....

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/07/2019 20:30

Meghan doing the Diana minewalk would be beyond crass, I can't believe they would consider doing that. Also, as the mother of a very young child I'm not sure she would want to.

Spudlet · 01/07/2019 20:31

Yes, luckily she is well connected. She’s very horsey of course, so Princess Anne will know her well too. Sheik Mohammed owns a big estate near to me which operates a shoot - the local gossip is that all the beaters are issued with eye protection and hi vis as some of the guns are a bit keen on shooting low😮 And suitcases of cash are distributed as payment! (Add obligatory large fistful of salt to allow for local gossip).

I can’t help but think of Henry VIII... his wives who were foreign princesses kept their heads, even if their endings weren’t the happiest. His English wives though, without the protection of a foreign king... not all so lucky (even Jane Seymour was threatened with Anne Boleyn’s fate!).

Spudlet · 01/07/2019 20:32

And Katherine Parr had a close squeak too - survived because she got to Henry before her enemies did and talked him around.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/07/2019 20:51

I really hope Harry isn't dim enough to take Meghan to recreate the minefield walk. Beyond crass.

MrsGrindah · 01/07/2019 20:53

Do we have an idea if or when Kate’s going to Wimbledon

Thedarklady · 01/07/2019 21:13

My friend saw DOC at Hampton CP today and has some videos on her Instagram account:

Or
instastoryviewer.com/thisenglishlife
The dress looks better in the videos

Sorry, it's a DM link, but there are some lovely stories about Diana and the boys here

wildone81 · 01/07/2019 21:18

Just popping in to say that I'm going to royal garden party at Holyrood on Wednesday.....will do my best to get photos of HM and any others that make an appearance

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/07/2019 21:27

Harry himself may recreate Diana's minefield walk but that's fair enough I guess.

Kate's earrings with the ho-hum dress are pretty. Anyone have an idea where they might be from?

(I don't mind the dress actually - though she often does dress 10 years older than she should, and that's about where I am in age!)

Notmyrealname855 · 01/07/2019 21:38

wildone81 wow!!! Get pics! That’s so cool :)

Honestly I did gasp at the gossip about Diana’s parentage... but then she and her brother had similar expressions at least.. will try and find a pic of a young goldsmith, must be one out there somewhere.

Think any pic of a mine field is a bit silly... I didn’t know any of the younger royals had carried on Diana’s work. You can say it’s raising awareness but seems like a fairly hollow photo op really.

Interestingly... Diana seemed to be lots of things, but she did throw herself into the public events she went to. Couldn’t really say the same for any of the junior royals. They all seem to have been cut a lot of slack... and now in a PR blitz to cover that fact... just my two pence :)

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/07/2019 21:42

Zac and Jemima don't look anything like their father. He was another one like Andrew PB - all the ladies went for him even though he wasn't much of a looker!

Kate’s earrings are apparently from Accessorise

GotToGoMyOwnWay · 01/07/2019 22:18

That Private Eye article Shock thanks for posting Olives

queenofarles · 01/07/2019 22:22

Not a fan of Kate’s dress.
These Type of Laura Ashley dresses are very big with the young uns , but they do wear them with hair scrunchies and trainers and end up looking cool,
Kate literally wears them like my mum did in the late 80s.

About Princess Haya, word is it’s political and nothing to do with anything concerning her private life.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/07/2019 22:22

Private Eye is always on the button.

DevonUkelele · 01/07/2019 22:23

Ooh, there's some nice things on that site @Gonegrey31. And not all duchessy in price! Thanks 🤗

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/07/2019 22:28

@Notmyrealname855 a young James Goldsmith. He actually looks not unlike Charles Spencer so it's probably all just a coincidence! The resemblence to Jemima and Zac is more marked there too.

Bit of a dish!!

Spudlet · 01/07/2019 22:59

Let’s face it, they’re probably all related somewhere down the line! I mean, look at the Hapsburgs - marrying your relatives was quite the done thing in centuries gone by.

Daisypie · 01/07/2019 23:21

Can't believe no tiara at that German wedding.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/07/2019 23:33

William went out to meet people holding a vigil for his mother today

JaimeBronde · 01/07/2019 23:44

Bless him. I imagine William & Harry would give up all the Royal stuff in a heartbeat just to have their Mum back again.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 02/07/2019 03:04

Harry himself may recreate Diana's minefield walk but that's fair enough I guess.

That particular minefield has been cleared; there’s a whole town built on it now. Will try and find the article.
