Best chub rub protection?

digdug · 18/06/2019 21:48

I see Evans have some 'comfort shorts' but these are available in size 1, 2 or 3 (wtf Hmm). I'm a size 14 so wondering if anyone has ordered these and can advise on sizing?

Failing that, are there any other recommended solutions? I need to wear a dress on Saturday night and my chafing situation isn't drastic but does get irritating when I get hot or do a lot of walking.

Thanks in advance.

These (top link) have been amazing and only a few quid.

Try Bodyglide

After a ridiculous amount of research I have found the holy grail of chub rub shorts. Jockey do a really light pair of underwear shorts called skimmies. I get the longer length as the short ride up on my sturdy thighs!

They stay put and they are so lightweight and breathable so you don't feel like your wearing an extra layer (I wear them over pants). I love them! I have 3 pairs which I find is enough and if I go on holiday they can be washed in the sink and will dry over night as they are so thin.

I'm a 16 and I get the large

Talcum powder

Lavendersquare · 18/06/2019 22:14

Apparently Asda make a liquid talc which is good for this.

Lanacane anti-chaffe gel is great!

Dec2019mumtobe · 18/06/2019 22:22

I wear some Sloggi shorts in place of normal knickers. Not very sexy but they're sooooo comfy and stop the chub rub

That or Spanx Higher Power for control too!

Or nude tights 😁

VeganSteve · 18/06/2019 22:23

Roll on deodorant! It really works!

Elemental · 18/06/2019 22:24

I’ve got 3 pairs from the Big Bloomers Company and they’re so good, very comfortable. Also got some from Snag tights - they’re more like short tights than shorts but I haven’t tried them out yet.

AuntieStella · 18/06/2019 22:32

Bodyglide

Originally sold to long distance runners, prevents chafing (even when sweating and moving rhythmically) for several hours.

SazCat · 18/06/2019 22:32

Another vote for Lanacane anti-chafing gel, they do it in Boots and have seen in smaller pharmacies too.

hazeyjane · 18/06/2019 22:33

Roll on or stick deodorant. Beats everything else by a mile.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 18/06/2019 22:35

I have the Sloggis, they are brilliant. Also wonderful for frustrating the wet dreams of any pervy git that might be trying to peep up my dress on the escalator.

But you know what works in a pinch? Hair serum! It’s fabulous!

hartof · 18/06/2019 22:40

I've just work these round Florida in 40 degree heat and they were really comfy! Didn't make me hotter and stopped the rub. They felt nice to wear as well.

hartof · 18/06/2019 22:41

Would help if I included the link https://www.marksandspencer.com/secret-slimming-medium-control-thigh-slimmer/p/p60202485?image=SD022T336758TTAXXXEC90&color=ALMOND&prevPage=plp

YesQueen · 18/06/2019 22:42

Big bloomers company for me, I have the Aztec ones and they're v comfy

JoyceDivision · 18/06/2019 22:44

I get cheap anti change shorts / long knickers off eBay,about £3 a pair, really thin flesh colour with lace trim...bloody ace!

andadietcoke · 18/06/2019 22:46

Snag chub rub shorts. Same sizing as the tights.

digdug · 18/06/2019 22:49

Oh blimey, so many responses! Thanks all. Going to read through and research now. I do remember lanacane; I used it when pregnant and my thighs got MEGA Grin

I wear these, www.curvissa.co.uk/products/levee-pack-of-3-body-shaping-briefs//A-425106_6?cs_ev=crossSell--recentlyViewed--carousel4--LeveePackof3BodyShapingBriefs&cs_pr=productlist--bottom--ListPage--RecentlyViewed--clicked-_-4 but need pants underneath.

I used to wear some from Tesco, but the shorter body rolls down now I have put on weight

PeachesandPie · 18/06/2019 22:50

Bandalettes! They are bands that go around the thigh rather than shorts so much cooler in hot weather.

SospanFrangipan · 18/06/2019 22:52

Have you tried the ivy verdure stick? It's amazing!

Terramirabilis · 18/06/2019 22:57

Jockey's skimmies slipshorts. Seriously. It's 40 degrees here in summer for weeks. Believe me about this. They come in different skintones plus I think there are some other options like white or black. Different lengths too. (I sound like they pay me, I know, but I'm just evangelical about them.)

LazyLizzy · 18/06/2019 23:10

Vaseline does the trick.

mommybear1 · 19/06/2019 10:27

This stuff is the best I've found. Roll on deodorant in a pinch.
