Perfume parlour

Hi. Am about to make my first order from perfume parlour. I am ordering the dupe of Gucci Bloom, a colleague at work was wearing this today and it's lovely.
Can anyone recommend any other good perfumes to try from them?
I like quite strong scents- have worn all sorts in the past- Estée Lauder, Chanel etc. Am happy to try a new scent as they're so cheap. Thanks

Portrait of a lady

Licencedtodrill · 18/06/2019 20:45

Thanks- haven't tried the original perfume but I like the sound of it from the reviews.

Nivea and Dove!

TheCanterburyWhales · 18/06/2019 22:30

Many of the old "classics" are fabulous from PP.
Opium, Rive Gauche, most of the Estée Lauders.
Prada Infusions are excellent.
The Jo Malone dupes are also great (and last loads longer than the real thing)
I have about 50 pp dupes and the only ones not to have been spot on were the Chanel 5 and 19. Hard to replicate because of the Orris root I think (re the 19)

I have loads of oils Blush

I ordered Portrait of a Lady after recommendations on here and have to say I can't actually believe anyone wears such heavy, old fashioned perfume! It's exactly what you'd expect a Dowager Countess to wearConfused

I have lots of Tom Ford, the Jo Malones are excellent as well as they last all day rather than the read deal.

Nivea and Dove are what I wear a lot and always get compliments.

Lamcome Miracle is exactly the same.

Gold Lady is lovely.

reticule · 19/06/2019 07:50

Loafofsellotape I didn't know others had recommended p of a l on here, but I don't think it's heavy at all - there's quite a fresh, sharp edge to its rose. But I like what people call 'old fashioned ' smells sometimes.

Licencedtodrill · 19/06/2019 07:56

Thanks for those recommendations. I thought I'd try a few of the small size sprays, to see which ones suit me. Generally the reviews seem to suggest longevity is good.

I’ve had a few Tom Fords which have all been decent. Tobacco Vanille is a good one and Vanille Fatale.

They do a dupe of Cacharel Gloria which was one of my favourites before it was discontinued years ago and it’s spot on.

worriermum300 · 19/06/2019 10:52

The Dune one is amazing - it doesn’t smell like the current version but it’s pretty much bang on for the original formulation which disappeared in around 2000-2001. I hadn’t realised how much I missed the original until I got the Perfume Parlour one and recognised it.

My friend gets the Flower Bomb dupe and says it’s spot on.

TheCanterburyWhales · 19/06/2019 13:02

Oh worrier, that is good to know! I am ekeing out a few 5ml samples I bought of vintage Dune (a nice perfume story is that the full bottle from which the samples were taken belonged to the grandmother of a mumsnetter)
I smelled the new formulation and recoiled at its one dimensional over sweet cloyingness.
I shall try the PP definitely.
That has been my experience with both Opium and Rive Gauche. Both of which are almost unrecognisable in their current form but the PP versions are spot on to the 1980s versions.

Ellapaella · 19/06/2019 13:55

I have a Prada one (iris infusion) which is almost identical to the real thing. Haven't tried any others yet but will be doing so as I was very impressed.

Ellapaella · 19/06/2019 13:57

Does anyone know if they do discontinued scents? I used to love Nina Ricci Delci Dela - I'd love to have that again.

LoafofSellotape · 19/06/2019 14:08

They do do discontinued scents but don't seem to do the one you're after.

I have the dupes for Fahrenheit and Terre de Hermes and they're both great.
(I like men's perfumes!)

KevinKlineSwoon · 19/06/2019 14:54

I have the dupe of Molecule 1 and it's smells better than the real thing - which I love on others and can't smell on myself

Ellapaella · 19/06/2019 15:58

Thank you @LoafofSellotape

SushiTime · 19/06/2019 15:59

Why have I never heard about this?! JM fan who really hates parting with her money for the bottle!

LoafofSellotape · 19/06/2019 16:20

You're in for a treat then because the JM oils are fantastic 😊

SushiTime · 19/06/2019 16:27

Eeek! Any you particularly recommend? I only ever buy Pom noir and peony and blush suede so I've added these as 50ml sprays. Or should I get roll on?

LoafofSellotape · 19/06/2019 16:30

I prefer the oils,I think they last better and are nice to travel with.

I think I have all the JM ones Blush

Licencedtodrill · 19/06/2019 19:27

Re discontinued scents, I see they do a dupe of the original Fendi which is one of my all time favourite perfumes. May try that.
Am intrigued by the 'soapy' options- I do like J Lo Glow, and that's very soapy so I may like the Dove scent!

I love Creed Virgin Island Water....

Owlish · 19/06/2019 19:42

That's interesting, Worrier, I have the Flowerbomb one (they call it Flower Booms) and I think it's nothing like the original, in fact I think it's horrible.

I also have the Pure Poison dupe, Pure Poizon and while I don't think it smells much like it, it is a nice scent. It does last all day, too, I find.

I obviously need to explore PP more, going by what PPs are saying.

BlythesEyes · 19/06/2019 19:44

The dupe of it from Perfume Parlour I meant
