I've just bought a tweed Beulah London blazer, barely worn, on eBay for £12. I love that brand, but can't stretch to the £495 a new one would cost, so am DELIGHTED.

I want to hear what your most glorious second-hand shopping triumphs have been, please!

Stella Mccartney wide legged linen trousers on EBay for £2. I was the only bidder.

ZaraW · 15/06/2019 07:58

And an Issey Miyake Pleats Please skirt for around £20.

MaudesMum · 15/06/2019 08:07

A pair of Duo riding boots, in exactly the right calf size, from my local dress agency. Given that Duo boots come in an incredible range of calf sizes and are normally £200++, I was very happy to pay £32!

LavenderHills · 15/06/2019 08:15

@ZaraW I am very jealous about the Issey Miyake! What a find.

Lots. I love a bargain. My favourite recent bargain is a Jil Sander winter coat which I got for under £20. The pictures on the listing made it look really shabby - I was expecting a renovation job. But it is immaculate.

franke · 15/06/2019 08:22

Handbags are often a good bet too - usually they just need a good clean up and then are as good as new. I've had a couple of Marc Jacobs bargains that way.

ZaraW · 15/06/2019 08:22

Lavender I love it, it's black, midi length with a neon pattern in orange, green and pink. Sounds awful but somehow it works.

QueenofLouisiana · 15/06/2019 08:38

YSL trench coat, €5. Found in a French thrift shop where you pay for clothes by weight. I love that shop.

Supersimpkin · 15/06/2019 08:50

All these are splendiferous achievements.

I can boast a Mulberry Bayswater, the big oak one, for a fiver in a charity shop. I don't like them but my mate was v chipper.

This week I got a Rebecca Minkoff nylon rucksack, the classic useful one with leather tags, still with its Selfridges stuffing, for £6.

And a big scarlet Lulu Guinness leather bag, one of the retro ones, for £3.50. That wasn't quite new but it came up lovely when I got a lipstick mark off the lining with Aldi gin.

Floisme · 15/06/2019 10:39

I've probably bragged about these before but anyway...
Margaret Howell wool coat for £17
Vivienne Westwood skirt for £15
Brora cashmere jumper for £6.99

All from real shops - I'm not a fan of Ebay.

nanbread · 15/06/2019 11:14

I got a Chloe silk blouse and some Joseph wool trousers, £5 each. Also a Zadig and Voltaire cashmere jumper for £40 at TK Maxx, cost per wear that's been a winner.

Wiglio · 15/06/2019 12:52

An Hermes scarf from a charity shop £5
I’ve had it framed, looks lovely

MulberryPeony · 15/06/2019 19:42

A Vivienne Westwood velvet skirt for £10 from a Northern shop that bought bankrupt shop stock.

A few Mulberry bags I’ve been lucky with from eBay that have checked out as authentic.

Miseryisabutterfly · 15/06/2019 23:06

I got a vintage Hermès scarf in a charity shop for €2 once. Put it through the wash before I’d realised 🙈 it survived!

Miseryisabutterfly · 15/06/2019 23:07

@Wiglio snap! I should do the same actually!

LavenderHills · 15/06/2019 23:56

Some of these sound amazing! I'd love to stumble across an Hermes scarf like that Smile

Vivienne Westwood dress £35
Prada bag £100
Mulberry bag £45
Numerous dresses by brands like Hobbs, LK Bennett, FCUK and Boden for under a tenner

evilharpy · 16/06/2019 07:42

All saints leather jacket for £15
Various Max Mara bits including a lovely navy jersey blazer, boucle jacket, brown wool jacket and cashmere jumper
Nicole Farhi trousers for a fiver, I spent more on having them altered
Paul Smith trousers
No amazing handbag bargains but I have found the likes of Mimco and Modalu for next to nothing

Most stuff I own is the likes of Hobbs, Karen Millen, Jigsaw, Reiss etc from charity shops.

Dellabob123 · 16/06/2019 09:07

@QueenofLouisiana where in France is such a thrift shop? Loving the sound of it and considering a dash over just to see such a shop!

BigcatLittlecat · 16/06/2019 09:25

I got a pair of duo boots in a charity shop for £4.95. Felt bad I had got them so cheap but the whole reason I was in a charity shop was because I am skint! I've worn them loads!!

QueenofLouisiana · 16/06/2019 09:34

@Dellabob123 it’s hidden in a corner of Blois (near the natural history museum, if any of you are visiting the Loire Valley this summer!) there’s some great stuff amongst the rubbish.

SansaryaAgain · 16/06/2019 09:54

If there's any Cos fans who live in or around York, there's a charity shop there that gets all their seconds and end of sale stock and sells it at knock down prices.

Japonicaflower2 · 16/06/2019 11:15

Just where are these charity shops that sell such treasures?
Any one within 20 miles of me just sell loads of rubbishy items ☹️

Onetoanother · 16/06/2019 11:33

Wool Joseph coat, only bidder on EBay, £13.00 including postage.
Looked it up - £495 new.
