In these pictures has Kate done something to thicken her hairline?

My hair line is thinning (no underlying health problem just genetics-thanks mum!) just looking at the latest pictures of Kate and Wills in Cumbria and I wondered if Kate’s hairdresser had done some kind of magical hair-filling in around her hairline and if she has, how has she done it! (Kate’s obviously got beautiful thick hair anyway but I’m wondering if this is a technique that celebs use when they’re being photographed maybe).

Probably that root spray stuff

hopeishere · 11/06/2019 19:07

It looks a bit like how mine does when I've just had my roots done. Or if she was using one of those root touch up things.

TessTackle · 11/06/2019 19:07

I work at a hair loss studio, and that is definitely root spray.

Scion123 · 11/06/2019 19:12

Root spray?! The stuff you cover your greys with while you’re waiting to have your roots done? So that could work to fill in a thinning patch? Could be a disaster though if you start sweating or get caught in the rain. I’m intrigued though! Could be good for a special occasion.

Wow 😯. Leave the poor lass alone. Does it matter?

Scion123 · 11/06/2019 19:16

This is exciting stuff! I didn’t even know this existed, you can get a giant eyebrow mascara for your hair! That sounds less messy than a spray. This is a revelation!

Yeah, it's no different to the stuff you see on those QVC adverts with a bald man's head getting sprayed with black powder stuff.

Scion123 · 11/06/2019 19:18

KooMoo yes it matters to me, I’ve been quite upset about my hair loss and I think this might actually help me! It’s an observation. I’m not sure what you’re ‘wowing’ about.

The hairline looks too perfect for actual hair. It looks like Action Mans hair. Love Kate though!

BogglesGoggles · 11/06/2019 19:21

Maybe she dyes her hair and it’s stsined her scalp?

BloomedAgain · 11/06/2019 19:21

TessTackle I'd love to know more about your work.

BobbyBrewstersMagicTorch · 11/06/2019 19:25

I use this

Works brilliantly if you have dark hair, not sure how well it works on blonde/red hair.

Babayaggatheboneylegged · 11/06/2019 19:25

The last thing I would call Kate Middleton is ‘poor lass’ Confused

Scion not only can you get root spray, there’s also a product that’s like powdered blusher that you can dab onto your roots/hairline. It has similar shortcomings to the spray in terms of rain/perspiration, but is ‘cleaner’ to apply. I always get the spray everywhere!

Failing that, I was chatting to a woman at a wedding recently who said she’d been to Poland for a hair transplant. Don’t think it was exceptionally cheap though!

Scion123
Have a look at Organic Burst supplements.
The chlorella tablets are amazing for hair.
I use these tablets for other reasons but they really make your hair thicker.

I have repeatedly bought these tablets.

(I use them so I don’t get a hangover! )

Scion123 · 11/06/2019 19:29

Thanks for all the suggestions, I’ve got some experimenting to do! It’s just a patch by my temple and I wear my hair down which covers it but i feel really self conscious when the wind blows. I think I’ll start with the mascara, )it looks the easiest to control) and progress from there.

ihatethecold thankyou, I’m up for trying anything!

Looks like a root tough up.

We all do it, Moo no shame in that.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 11/06/2019 19:40

OP, best thing to apply it with is a baby toothbrush.

Scion123 · 11/06/2019 19:50

ChardonnaysPrettySister do you spray the toothbrush first then? And then brush it through the hair (does that make it look thicker) or onto the scalp?

I can't imagine having thousands of people poring over pictures of me on an average "day at the office". Leave her be

ChippyTea16 · 11/06/2019 20:05

I literally use brown eyeshadow (same colour as my hair) to touch up my ‘receding hairline’ as I call it! Saw it on a YouTube video and wish I’d discovered it ages ago! Looks more natural than the spray I think x

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 11/06/2019 20:06

Yes, I spray on the toothbrush or apply the liquid touch it with it.

I find it works better, but YMMV.

bobstersmum · 11/06/2019 20:11

I have the same problem op and amazingly poundland usually have the batiste root touch up powder which is perfect for me and so easy to apply and doesn't seem to run in the rain!

CrazyToast · 11/06/2019 20:12

Koomoo and Notmyideamovingon---this post is by someone who is struggling with hair loss and hoping to get some tips about what Kate is doing. She is in no way having a go at Kate, nor is anyone else.

ReformedB0t · 11/06/2019 20:15

Do not understand people on the "leave Kate alone" bandwagon. No one is criticising her. This is a Style board and someone wants to take inspiration from her. We cant just drop her a message to ask so we ask each other. Jeez.
