Ooooh, that's exciting laska! I love having something like that to look forward to so far in the future. And hope you like the nomad stuff. I don't think it's overpriced if good quality (not ordered anything from there before) , so with the discount it is pretty good value. Hopefully it stops raining by Saturday for you Smile, though now you've said there will be a BBQ it's bound to!

len - I agree with M&S stock! I understand about them wanting to have some things that are a bit desirable that you don't see every second person in each year, but there's "sought after" and then there's just "impossible to buy". And it's M&S fgs... You'd have thought they'd have worked out their customer numbers and stock requirements by now. And don't be silly - you don't talk rubbish at all!

shinynewapple · 13/06/2019 11:33

@ilovecherries I am an occasional lurker on this thread, having a flick through today for something to do as I like the clothing pics you all post. I wanted to say how good you look in the picture you posted on 6 June with the grey bob, the hair and clothes give a really youthful vibe.

NotAnActualSheep · 13/06/2019 11:37

Oh, hello justi - hadn't seen there was a new page! Yuk to dog- drool. Sorry to hear you're still not feeling good... Yes it's "only hair" but there is so much psychologically tied up in our hair (and appearance generally) it must be very difficult to just get over. Hats are fab though. Have some no carb Gin and Flowers to go with your sausages.

ilovecherries · 13/06/2019 11:46

Oh, thank you so much , apple, you made my day :)!

Well, I do need a revision, which was what I expected. I’ve developed lots of adhesions on one side (quite visible as they are tugging the skin inwards and pulling on my scars (and hurt when I stretch my arm). Scan today confirmed it. It’s a bit of a bummer but it’s something I seem very prone to doing. Anyway, trying to be a bit Pollyanna-ish about it. I have said from day one I would not consider a cosmetic revision but he suggests that given I am going to need an anaesthetic anyway that I have some general tidying up done at the same time to get a neater look. All covered by the initial payment, but just a bit disappointing. I never expected my size of reduction to have a perfect cosmetic result, and I’m fine with how it all looks, but he says it could def be improved on.

@cherries that is annoying but remember that it is up to you and don't feel pressurized into getting it done. You do have a choice to leave it as is. I do appreciate though if you are feeling impaired movement when moving your arm up then that is different.

ilovecherries · 13/06/2019 11:55

Yeah, I wouldn’t bother except for the arm thing which is actually gradually getting worse.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 13/06/2019 12:04

Would it be more of a minor op if it was just the bit that affects your arm? Or are they just as well doing 'it all'?

neveradullmoment99 · 13/06/2019 12:05

@shinynewapple, what a lovely comment to make. You know you are welcome to post any time :)

ilovecherries · 13/06/2019 12:11

I think the biggest bit is doing the adhesions, which will involve a further small reduction, so the other side should be evened out to match, and then the rest is just minor, which I wouldn’t have dreamt of having another anaesthetic for, but is worth doing while I’m under anyway. I don’t think it will be anything like the length of surgery I had initially, and it will only be the ends of the scars that will be re-opened, so the wounds will be tiny in comparison.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/06/2019 12:13

Ah well, it doesn't sound too bad at all. When will they do it?

Laska2Meryls · 13/06/2019 12:13

cherries it sounds like it does need to be done, but how do you feel about it ? will there be the same amount of recovery time?

Laska2Meryls · 13/06/2019 12:15

shinynewapple Welcome.. do join the (dangerous) chat!

Joules sale, Further reductions.. Just saying.. Wink

neveradullmoment99 · 13/06/2019 12:17

Oh crikey @laska, I am trying not to spend but was just thinking there are sales EVERYWHERE! Saving myself for the Hush sale! [ after spending £110 on Toast linen dungarees but hoping they are crap and go back!]

neveradullmoment99 · 13/06/2019 12:17

Actually they don't have any adjustment on the shoulders so that may be a huge issue.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/06/2019 12:18

I used to like joules but have got tired of the flower/stripe combo.

ilovecherries · 13/06/2019 12:21

not Sure on timescale, won’t be straight away as there is still some swelling to settle first, so we can see exactly what the final picture is. Hopefully will bounce back fairly quickly.

Anyway, in more stylish mode. Wearing black Amies, long white vest and squirrel jumper in granite green, or whatever they are calling it this year. I seem to be going through Amies at an alarming rate - they don’t bobble, but they do seem to get very thin after a few washes. I’ve ordered a couple of pairs of the Next tapered jersey trousers to try as an alternative. I had them before when next called them harems, and I found them prone to bobbling, but thought I’d give them another go.

ilovecherries · 13/06/2019 12:23

We are meant to be away in the camper next week. Last time I was home I had it all packed up with shorts and tee shirts, but I think I’m going to have to revise that and repack it with jersey trousers and sweats.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 13/06/2019 12:26

@ilovecherries I find they go terribly thin. I have had mine for a long time now and both the black and the navy are really thin. I thought I was imagining it. I feel now that they look more like pyjamas.

ilovecherries · 13/06/2019 12:26

And on the positive side - a further small reduction might put me into high street bras! Given I need to wait at least 6-8 weeks for the residual swelling, I will probably wait till after we’ve been to Spain in September, so I can swim etc - and don’t have to worry about DVT on the plane!

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 13/06/2019 12:28

One has a hole in them though! Down to sitting on a sharp pencil although it didn't hurt me it kind of poked in them side ways. I stll wear them round the house but wouldn't go out In them like that.

ilovecherries · 13/06/2019 12:30

Yes, I was wearing a navy pair when I was home the other week. I bought them in the pre-sale 20% discount at Xmas , but they live at home so they haven’t been worn constantly. DD remarked that I was flashing my purple knickers in them. I was horrified really that they were thin enough to see dark purple through navy. I like them, but at £50, that’s not really good enough.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 13/06/2019 12:36

I totally agree :) Not good enough for the price.

justilou1 · 13/06/2019 12:50

Bugger, @ilovecherries! It did sound like adhesions from what you were describing, but I was assuming I was wearing my “worst case scenario nursing student hat”. I’m sorry you have to have another anaesthetic, knowing how traumatic they are for you. Meanwhile, you’re going to have the perky bosoms of a sixteen year old! (As mine resemble a couple of squash balls in a pair of socks, I might be a wee bit jealous!!)

Laska2Meryls · 13/06/2019 13:00

What are you two doing to your Amies? Are you still washing them in the river on stones up there in the Far, Ancient lands of the Dark and Cold Norf !!! Grin

None of my brilliant £15 sale (former black and white now dyed) ones havent gone thin (4 pairs now blue, grey red and purple striped) !!) and I wear and wash them all the time ..

NotAnActualSheep · 13/06/2019 13:01

Oh no cherries . What a bummer... Even though you are "under guarantee" Blush and may well end up with a visually improved result (as well as actually being able to move as you're supposed to...) its obviously not brilliant thinking you will need to go through the operation again, even a smaller version. I agree it's probably sensible to get past the summer and your holiday, though, assuming you will be able to cope with the restricted movement until then. Poor you though...

But I totally agree with apple 🍎👋. You are looking great!

I've never been entirely convinced by the amies tbh. I felt they were rather thin even when new, compared to the harems, (though I've only got the cheap striped ones from last summer sale, and really only wear them indoors) but you're right... they really shouldn't be see through or get holes in so quickly.

Noooooooo laska. Just stop it OK... There are a couple of nice looking raincoats there. I'm still dithering over the boden pink one. The 10 is much better size wise (I've just got a dispatch email from boden that they've sent the one I asked for as an exchange... even though I bought another one without the £10 voucher.. So I'll be sheep2pinkraincoats before long) but I'm not sure it's as lightweight as I want. It is a nice spring/ summer colour though. Mind you, the joules ones probably aren't lightweight either, and seem a bit longer, and I don't need "proper" long raincoats.
