Cherries you look amazing.
never I really feel for you, so awful when anyone is very ill & the stress of work I take my hat off to you being teacher, such a difficult job💐
Laska oh sweetie again I feel for you, moan away & you & everyone on this thread are fabulous, the kindness & support shown on this little oasis is one of life’s good things.

FuzzyPuffling · 06/06/2019 16:55

laska I am standing with you on the "diet issues" bench. Having lost 2.5 stone last year I have put half a stone back on in the past three months or so. Largely through stressful things happening (parental death, Dh being really ill again etc, you know it all) I need to get rid of it - it is making me unhappy, and yet my solace is in eating, especially the wrong things. Cheese and chocolate are my downfall.

dontcallmelen · 06/06/2019 16:55

Fuzzy wow complete bargain, I do this with dgd clothes saved a blooming fortune👍🏼

FuzzyPuffling · 06/06/2019 16:57

Sorry I am talking about myself again. This sir such a lovely thread though and I do like how it swings from frocks to worries and back again.

Thank you all for being fab. (And looking bloody fab too!)

FuzzyPuffling · 06/06/2019 16:57

Sir??? IS.

dontcallmelen · 06/06/2019 16:58

Fuzzy talk away, that’s why I like this thread it’s not just about clothes, it’s life & all that encompasses.

dontcallmelen · 06/06/2019 16:59

Yy cheese & bread for me.

ilovecherries · 06/06/2019 17:14

That’s a gorgeous colour fuzzy, and a great bargain. How is DH doing now?

cherries - you look flipping fab! Love the jacket and bag with your silver hair. Envy

fuzzy - absolutely no need to apologise! yy this is such a nice thread. I daren't don't really post on any other threads, but this is such a nice, supportive and diverse corner of the internet. Like a coffee shop to go and chat/ whinge and there's always someone you "know" there Grin . Love that coat. The hood looks so cozy. I love a bit of fake fur, me.

laska - Phew - glad your Halo has gone a bit skew-wiff. Grin Well done on snapping up the monacos again...I do think they may be a bit big on you in the 12 (as they fit me!), but it depends how they hang, I suppose...relaxed rather than totally baggy would definitely work. And yes, moan away!!

never -haha - I'm the same! My "proper' diet isn't too bad, but it's the "extras" that are my downfall. At the moment I've developed a slight addiction to tunnocks teacakes. Not sure why - they are totally over-sweet junk - but i can't get enough of their marshmallow-y goodness. And cheese. And wine. And pasta, bread and gin Blush (not all together).

ilovecherries · 06/06/2019 17:19

I’m wondering idly if it is possible for one’s new boobs to unscrew themselves. I feel it’s only my compression bra that’s holding them in place right now. I ran (shuffled) a 10k on Tuesday and a 5K today, plus all the usual dog walks etc and they are seriously complaining. Going to lie on the sofa all evening with Netflix, a big bag of frozen peas and two paracetamol. Nearly 4 months in, and they still don’t love being jiggled about.

OP posts:
dontcallmelen · 06/06/2019 17:26

Cherries oh lord have vision of new boobs slowly unscrewing themselves as you lay on the sofa, I dunno maybe with such a big operation nerves/healing etc will take a fair bit of time.

FuzzyPuffling · 06/06/2019 17:39

Oh Cherries that sounds highly uncomfortable. Hope a sofa-rest puts them firmly back into position.

twosoups1972 · 06/06/2019 17:40

Just catching up! I've been quite busy last few days, working yesterday and pilates and running around on errands today.

@cherries you look great! I love your outfit

@fuzzy nice jacket and what a great bargain! It's a nice colour.

I have trainer news to report! So I went into a local (ish) branch of Daniels today where they were holding a pair of the £££ trainers for me. They looked and felt lovely but again I was dithering over the price. And they had the right colour soles (light grey). Woman in shop was a bit apologetic they were not in the sale. However I had explained on the phone the problem I'd had with the other pair and she said she would give me 15% off! I probably could have haggled for a bit more tbh but they were the last pair. So it came down to under £200 which feels a bit better but even so, I feel a bit guilty. However cost per wear and all that. AND I've been Ebaying quite a bit lately!

FuzzyPuffling · 06/06/2019 17:41

Not.. re Tunnock's Tea cakes. DH is currently sporting a tea towel round his neck emblazoned with said Tea cakes. (He has difficulty eating and it catches the drips of coffee etc) Coincidence you should mention them though!

FuzzyPuffling · 06/06/2019 17:56

soups great trainer news. 15% is worth having and a pair of comfy trainers is priceless. Much better than blisters or bashed toes!

neveradullmoment99 · 06/06/2019 17:58

Oh I love tunnock tea cakes!! is there any sweet things I don't like

dontcallmelen · 06/06/2019 18:02

Yeahy Soups has her lusted after trainers at last, no price can put on comfy feet & I reckon cost per wear they will be a bargain.

Ellapaella · 06/06/2019 18:08

@ilovecherries I love your outfits. You look
Lovely 💕
@neveradullmoment99 hard times for you all - it's so sad and so so tough. Sending much love x

I'm having a tricky time with my eldest ds. He's 17 now and breaking his knee really hasn't helped his psychological well being at all. In the middle of mocks and he's decided he hates A levels, he's sick and bored of them and hasn't enjoyed sixth form at all. We've had so many emotional outbursts. He's made the decision to finish year 12 but has applied to do a level 3 NVQ in engineering in September. I think this will be good for him as he's very clever but also a very practical learner. He's very excited about it and it's lovely to see him so enthusiastic about it. Engineering is what he's always wanted to do. Only problem is he's decided he wants to go and live at his Dads to do it down in Bath. He says he wants to experience living with his Dad for a bit - he's had to make do with occasional weekends and school holidays his whole life and now he wants a turn at spending more time with him.
I'm absolutely gutted that he'll be moving - I know he'll still be coming back for weekends and holidays but it just won't be the same. His brothers will miss him so much 😢
I keep telling myself it's only a year earlier than he would be planning on doing the same for uni but still... I can't imagine what it's going to be like. Luckily we have fast and cheap easy jet flights so that will help with visits. I'm putting on a brave face for him but inside I'm an emotional wreck!

Sorry everyone! Bit of an outburst but I haven't told many people yet in real life.

ilovecherries · 06/06/2019 18:13

Oh ellla, that must be hard. No wonder you are upset. Letting go is impossibly difficult sometimes.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 06/06/2019 18:17

Oh @ella. My ds was 18 when he left to study in Edinburgh. He was my 'baby' at the time and he was very close to me growing up. It was sooo hard. In all honesty, it was really good for him. He has great memories but {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} I so know how you feel.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/06/2019 18:18

Edinburgh is quite far for us. Now apart from one son, they all live hundreds of miles away.

Laska2Meryls · 06/06/2019 18:23

twosoups Good result!! Star can we have a photo? Make sure you enjoy the trainers ..

Not I am going to see what the 12 are like . These were the10 on me , they were fine on the bum and I thought they were ok but discovered the legs around the thigh pulled when I sat down or tried kneeling, as the fabric does not give at all .

Oh ella what a wrench.. Sad. Is his dad supportive?

dontcallmelen · 06/06/2019 18:25

Aww Ella that must be so difficult for you, it’s soo hard when they are no longer a child & you can’t really stop them, but it’s a huge adjustment for you & the other dcs, only small consolation is that it sounds as though the NVQ would be ideal for him.
I really feel for you though it’s tough, my son left & joined the army I used to go into his room & sob & he was in his twenties.
💐😘

Laska2Meryls · 06/06/2019 18:28

Not the same, but my son 'left' when he was just coming up to 18 . It was a v difficult time because it was after an argument about him not working ,or studying or doing anything really apart from gaming in his bedroom and I asked him to go to his dads for a time. But he never came back to live at home and then lived in a series of dreadful places . I felt so bad /guilty about it for a long time, but we got over it, and he sorted himself out in the end are very close now

Laska2Meryls · 06/06/2019 18:31

cherries this boob news is a bit worrying.. (esp as I have been dreaming of having mine 3 cup sizes down all day )
