T shirts

The million dollar question! I'm sick of buying crap black t-shirts and vest tops. I've tried M&S countless times (and they always end up being rubbish), H&M, John Lewis, Gap. None of them are any good.

Cos t-shirts are good but the necks are too high.

Why can I get decent plain, short sleeved t-shirts or vests, with a slightly scooped neckline? I won't shop in Primark, want it to be a real shop not online, and I don't care how much they cost if they are good!

Please help. Grin

Seconded!! Except I'd also like them to be cotton!!

Processedpea · 02/06/2019 14:52

Jigsaw pima cotton

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/06/2019 14:56

I looked at the Jigsaw ones, but they are only 47% cotton.

The White Company

SnugglySnerd · 02/06/2019 22:01

I'd like to know this too. Also they have to be long enough that I can bend, reach etc without displaying my vast wobbly midriff. I would like a black one, a grey one and perhaps navy.

AgeBeforeBeauty · 02/06/2019 22:04

Uniqlo? But don't know if they last well...

keepingbees · 02/06/2019 22:09

I've seen Gap recommended a lot for good t shirts. They do long length too

Mumof1andacat · 02/06/2019 22:11

Just got a black, green and blue on from peacocks of all places. Good fit. Haven't been through the wash yet so we'll see.

JaneR0chester · 02/06/2019 22:13

I'm a big fan of Uniqlo and their t shirts are lovely. We have a variety of plain and patterned versions, the quality is good and the tees wash really well.

Ellapaella · 02/06/2019 22:15

I have this one which is actually from Morrison's - £4. Actually I've bought 3 as they are perfect, nice neck line, slim over my lumpy bits, I wear mine tucked in but they do go down to hip length if you prefer a longer line. And wash perfectly.

Arket do a range of t shirts including some ‘heavyweight’ tees. It’s 3 for 2. They feel like good quality.

Applesbananaspears · 02/06/2019 22:18

I would say M&S relaxed which wash and wear perfectly or try Weekday, they are brilliant

UserN0me · 02/06/2019 22:18

I’ve been looking for this for a long time. I actually found the perfect black one in Zara last week. I want to go back for a white one too!

Juststopit · 02/06/2019 22:21

I’ve bought four from Dorothy Perkins today. Fit well, slim but not over tight and good sleeve width for the bingo wings. Jersey seems a good weight so hopeful they’ll wash ok £6 each.

HundredMilesAnHour · 02/06/2019 22:36

I've had some surprisingly good T-shirts from Asos (their own brand Asos Design range) that wash well and keep their shape. I have a couple of black T-shirt/vest dresses from them that are into their 3rd/4th year of wear and still look good (despite a LOT of wear). Some stuff from Asos is shockingly bad quality fabric but I find their cotton jersey wears well and is usually well cut.

But it's online so breaks your 'must be a real shop' rule.

They're currently offering 20% off with code BACKAGAIN.

rainbowscalling · 03/06/2019 08:15

I get mine from & Other Stories and they last really well!

Arlen supposedly do really good t shirts too.

rainbowscalling · 03/06/2019 08:15

*Arket. No idea where Arlen is!

Duchessofealing · 03/06/2019 08:16

Oasis have some nice 100% cotton ones in at the moment

Floisme · 03/06/2019 09:17

Can you get to a Toast? I've had a couple for at least 5 years and they've worn really well - kept their shape (without lycra) and the colours have lasted well too. I'd grit my teeth and get a couple more for this summer but the colours aren't right for me this time. Pretty sure I saw a black s/sleeved one though.

Gannetseatfish · 03/06/2019 09:36

I was going to post the very same today. I'm looking for v neck rather than scoop but Not Too Low! Was going to try John Lewis but you've put me off!

NoTheresa · 03/06/2019 14:47

Uniqlo

bingohandjob · 03/06/2019 15:27

The ASOS Design ultimate ones are great. Soft cotton, hang and wash well and in a range of styles. I really rate them.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 03/06/2019 15:58

I find Fat Face t-shirts to be good quality and a nice fit.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/06/2019 17:59

Thank you.

Fatface haven't got much, but I'll have a look.

Arket ones are lovely and the quality seems good, but the necks are all high.

I refuse to buy any more M&S t-shirts - they always let me down.

I'm not sure if our JL does Toast, but if it does, I'll have a look. Will also have a look in the White Company.
