Madeleine of Sweden has been out and about in an interesting skirt. She always looks so radiant.

I think he will get a second term actually.

Wetdogloveshubert · 05/06/2019 16:45

Madeleine's skirt has a touch of the flamenco about it, Queen! I quite like it - and much nicer styled with high heels, instead of kitten (as modelled).

MotherofPearl · 05/06/2019 16:55

I'm afraid it's a thumbs down from me for that skirt - it's a great fit on her but I really dislike asymmetrical hemlines. Like the crisp white shirt though.

MoonstoneMagic · 05/06/2019 17:04

When I read the text of the remarks Trump
makes, I am dumbfounded. He has a vocabulary if about ten nursery words which he repeats ad infinitum. ‘Nice’ ‘very good’ ‘nasty’ . ‘Your people’ ‘beautiful.’. Etc. It really shows that the man never reads. It’s laughable.
Poor Prince Charles trying his best to have an intelligent conversation with a moron. He must have been crying with frustration.

Spudlet · 05/06/2019 17:14

90 minutes of talking to Trump about climate change... must have felt like a lifetime. Good on Charles for giving it a go though.

Yay4may · 05/06/2019 17:19

I couldn’t take in the details of the Sarah Vine article because I am just so shocked there’s someone willing to shag Gove.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 05/06/2019 17:21

Charles isn't exactly Mensa material. I wouldn't want to spend an evening listening to him or Trump.

Madeleine's skirt is virtually identical to one my mum wore in the 80s.

SlipperOrchid · 05/06/2019 17:23

I think he will get another term too

:-(

His limited vocabulary appeals to the electorate who vote for him. A very old (European) neighbour who now lives in NY fills her FB with gratitude for having such a down to earth people person for President. She has a similar vocabulary to him in fairness but it is nonetheless a jolt to the senses to read her flattering views of him.

derxa · 05/06/2019 17:29

I thought Melania was graceful and gracious throughout the visit.

MotherofPearl · 05/06/2019 17:31

Yes, his vocabulary and mode of interacting are so childish. Calling calling Sadiq Khan a 'stone cold loser' - what is he, 9 years old?!

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/06/2019 19:54

Charles isn't Mensa material but at least he knows his stuff when it comes to climate change, which is more than one can say for Trump!

He's now left for Ireland, thank god. Though Leo Varadkar's face during their press conference was something to behold.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 05/06/2019 20:07

He may talk the talk but he doesn't walk the walk.

mathanxiety · 05/06/2019 20:11

Melania perfectly fulfills her role of making Trump look like a man who can bag a good looking woman who is so deferential to him and his position that she never expresses an opinion on anything. She is the toxic masculine vision of what a woman should be - seen but not heard - and is therefore part of Trump's appeal to his core voters.

mathanxiety · 05/06/2019 20:20

Yes, the body language at that press conference spoke volumes.

Good photo from St Patricki's Day at the White House too.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/06/2019 21:22

I wish I could do photoshop.
Looks like Trump has just offered a steaming turd in his outstretched palm to the Irish PM

I’m amazed Melania didn’t wear an Emerald green coat when getting off in Ireland. Is there a dinner or anything tonight?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 05/06/2019 21:35

She could have borrowed one from Kate, @CurlyWurlyTwirly. Except it would have needed holes cut in the front for the boobage.

mathanxiety · 05/06/2019 21:36

I don't think the visit to Ireland is a full on state visit.

Trump is basically hoping to give his Doonbeg golf links a bit of publicity.

This is the money-losing venture that is slowly being reclaimed by the Atlantic Ocean thanks to global warming. He wanted the government to provide funds for... a wall, to stop the erosion. Locals registered an objection to this on environmental grounds as the area is the habitat of a rare snail.

Local farmers have been asked to refrain from slurry spreading and grass cutting while 45 is playing golf.

Laiste · 05/06/2019 21:39

''That's it now with the Trump visits, is it not?''

I'm picturing at least one of the RF muttering that very thing out of the corner of their mouth while they all wave him off. And then walking calmly back behind doors to eye roll together and slump down on the sofas together in relief Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/06/2019 21:44

RF code names pretty ordinary compared to Trump is Mogul and Melania is Muse presidents codenames

I think this is the moment caught on camera the queen muttered those very words to Charles Wink

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/06/2019 22:05

Oh I’ve thought of my own codenames for the Trumps, to be used by the Royal Household.
Buffoon, Busty, Barbie (Ivanka)

BertrandRussell · 05/06/2019 22:08

“’m amazed Melania didn’t wear an Emerald green coat when getting off in Ireland.”
