Same item in multiple colours?

Is this acceptable or a bit frivolous?
I have these very comfy (and IMO fabulous) pointy flats in yellow and green.
I’ve worn the yellow so deffo keeping them but I really really really want to keep the green too.
I may have also just ordered them in purple too....
Not sure whether I can get away with keeping all three.

What’s your position on getting the same item in different colours?

U hate shoe shopping - if I find comfy ones I always buy 2 pairs in the same colour. Why shouldn't you?

madmother1 · 01/06/2019 18:53

If you like them, then yes!

CuckooCuckooClock · 01/06/2019 18:54

Excellent thank you. Need to find a way of hiding them from dh.

Oh definitely get multiples. Can you share where you bought the shoes- they are indeed fabulous!

Figure8 · 01/06/2019 19:01

Where are they from? Lovely!!

SofiaAmes · 01/06/2019 19:02

I always get something I like in multiple colors. I have the same shirts and trousers in 5 - 10 different colors. Shoes usually just 2 different colors, but that's because they often don't come in more. I say go for it!!!

Very sensible!

I’ve got trousers in 3/4 colours and the same T-shirt in multiples.

CuckooCuckooClock · 01/06/2019 19:07

Brilliant- just what I needed to hear - thank you, my enablers.

The shoes are from office. And currently in the sale so an absolute bargain.

The shoes in the photos are yellow and blue. Do you mean that there is a green pair and a purple pair too?

They are nice, though.

CuckooCuckooClock · 01/06/2019 19:12

The “green” are a sort of teal colour but the shop called them green so I did too. Neither blue nor green in rl.

Here are the purple

Oh, I see. The colour looks quite different on the website. Great bargain too, so if you can afford them, keep them all Grin

SpeckledyHen · 01/06/2019 19:17

I always buy in multiples , especially boots & shoes as they are so hard to find .

CuckooCuckooClock · 01/06/2019 19:21

Ha yes my colleague mismatched navy and black shoes recently. Probably unlikely with yellow and green —unless very hungover—

I do if there cheap shoes from primark. I went there the other day and saw some sandals that they had in last summer, they were the comfiest things ever so I got them in black and khaki. £6 each so a bargain.

badg3r · 01/06/2019 19:22

I have multiples of shirts, teeshirts, trousers, jeans, ... definitely ok!!

HeronLanyon · 01/06/2019 19:22

I have same boots and also similar boots. Once went to court with really quite different boots on (same heel height). Looked down and discovered. The whole front bench started to have hysterics as I showed them all. Hmm

lucymegan · 01/06/2019 19:23

These are them.

I do this all of the time!!! I do find it harder to find clothes I like and that are comfortable these days, so when I do I will buy them in multiple colours.

Most of my work blouses are the same style of blouse from New Look in different colours and patterns. It's a really versatile top. Same for my work trousers, same ones in black, navy and grey!

Look up personal uniform on pintrest. It is actually a 'thing'

LadyOfTheCanyon · 01/06/2019 21:23

Oooo thanks OP. I've been looking for some flat shoes with a high vamp because I'm sick of ballerinas. Ta. Grin

palahvah · 01/06/2019 21:32

A stylist I once knew denounced this as 'lazy shopping, like a man'. I prefer to think of it as Obama and Zuckerberg do, reducing decision fatigue, and therefore totally laudable. Maybe wear one pair first and keep the labels on the others til you make sure they are as comfortable as they seem. Noone needs 3 new pairs of shoes that make them cry with pain.

palahvah · 01/06/2019 21:33

Oops! Just re-read properly - go for it in that case ;)
