I don’t trust my own judgement with clothes at the moment. Like the feel of the dress and the lovely deep pockets but not sure the style works for me

You look great in it and I disagree about sizing down.

HundredMilesAnHour · 31/05/2019 09:00

Amish summer holiday is so much more stylish than bodycon though.

There is a middle ground though. You don't have a choice of only baggy shapeless sacks or Lycra so tight that you can see your internal organs.

Floisme · 31/05/2019 09:00

I really like it. Yeah I like Toast and Cos too. I am bored senseless with figure hugging.

LoafofSellotape · 31/05/2019 09:24

It's not baggy and shapeless, it's cut well and looks expensive.

I would kill to have the shape to wear it because I'd live in stuff like that.

Cloudhopping · 31/05/2019 09:30

I think it looks fab on you. You have the build and figure to be able to carry it off.

fancynancyclancy · 31/05/2019 09:38

But this dress isn’t a baggy shapeless sack, I would say it’s the middle ground.

Why is it always recommended that someone with a fantastic figure has to show it off? Not everyone wants to do this.

Because this dress gives the OP the figure of a bag of coleslaw when she quite clearly isn’t!

Not all clothes are about accentuating slimness.

I thought so..

scifibi · 31/05/2019 10:09

Because this dress gives the OP the figure of a bag of coleslaw But it clearly doesn't because lots of posters including yourself have commented on the OPs lovely figure.

Cherylshaw · 31/05/2019 10:11

I love it except the length I don't like that length on anyone tho

Annasgirl · 31/05/2019 10:13

Rooftree - 100% agree with you. I am very slim and toned but I hate body con dresses.

OP I love, love, love your dress. I would buy it myself. Totally love dresses with pockets. That would be so comfy on a Summer's day - and so stylish.

It's funny but IRL people always comment on how stylish I am, but according to the MN jury I am a middle aged frump with "speak to the manager" (can someone explain where this comes from?) hair.

LoafofSellotape · 31/05/2019 10:16

Because this dress gives the OP the figure of a bag of coleslaw when she quite clearly isn’t!

That doesn't make sense if it's quite clear she hasn't got the figure of a bag of coleslaw.

MsAR · 31/05/2019 10:33

What a divisive dress! Thank you for all the comments. I’m even more torn now. I really want to find an alternative to figure hugging as I’m saying goodbye to my 30s very soon and I do have a bit of a tummy that is not what it was post babies. Strangely, The Amish summer holiday comment has made the dress more, not less appealing

Buy it OP, it's a great dress and you look fantastic in it. Great shape and fab print. Will be wonderful to just pull on on a summer's day. In fact, I'm surprised people aren't all over it as the next perfect 'school run dress' given all the threads devoted to the subject every year Grin

Ellapaella · 31/05/2019 10:37

@Annasgirl - I expect you are stylish and would go with what your friends in RL say - there are definitely some posters who just come on here to be unkind - perhaps there is a little jealousy going on? It's funny how those who are so 'blunt' with their replies never offer any constructive criticism or stop for a few minutes to think about how they might say something kindly.

OP I think the dress looks lovely - you have a great figure and it looks smashing.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 31/05/2019 10:40

I knew this was going to be Toast as soon as I saw the pic. Shows how strong their aesthetic is!

I like it on. I used to buy tonnes from Toast, but since all the dresses have gone super long, I’m now too short to wear them. Super frustrating! I would have bought 10-15 dresses a season if I could, but now it would all need alteration.

You have the height, go for it!

NoBaggyPants · 31/05/2019 10:41

It makes you look pregnant. It's the way the waist sits too high and the material bunching up under it.

And you look like you have a beautiful figure and not in the least bit pregnant, under all that material.

(I'm not suggesting a pregnant lady is not beautiful, but it's not generally a shape non pregnant people aspire to.)

MissBridgetJones · 31/05/2019 10:43

Size down. I love it

Whatthefoxgoingon · 31/05/2019 10:43

I don’t think you look pregnant at all.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 31/05/2019 10:44

Yes definitely try the size down. But if you plan to wear this in high summer, roominess can be more comfortable in the heat Smile

StarJumpsandaHalf · 31/05/2019 10:48

I don’t think clothes should be figure hugging, or show off your shape, but I do think they should be kind to you.

I’ve looked on the website and the dress doesn’t even look good on the model. There seems excess fabric over the top of the chest, that’s what makes it seem baggy and as many of us said it draws attention to the stomach area. If that’s a part of the body you’re slightly conscious about, this isn’t going to do you any favours

ReturnofSaturn · 31/05/2019 10:49

I don't like the colours or the style. Not sure if it's just the angle you are stood at but it doesn't look a very flattering cut.

StarlightLady · 31/05/2019 11:25

I think there is too much fabric on the front round the tum. Otherwise I like the style.
