Soft feet

I'm not sure this is in the right place ... but here we go.

On holiday this week, I've discovered my FIL has the oddest, softest, baby like feet. (I saw them at the pool, nothing weird, ok?).

I'm too embarrassed to ask him. So I'm asking you.

If you have super soft feet, what's your routine?

I've had hard bits at the base of my big and little toes for as long as I remember. And my heels haven't been soft either. I thought everyone was the same ...

My OH has soft feet too, despite not doing anything to them.

I notice that when I wear natural fibres (leather) on my feet, they are softer. I guess it's because they can breathe.

WelshMoth · 29/05/2019 22:51

Watching with huge interest Grin

Pascha · 29/05/2019 22:52

My DH also has baby-soft feet which he does nothing to encourage Envy. I have hoofs. I am very jealous.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 29/05/2019 23:00

I have weirdly soft feet. I do nothing for them.

It's not always good, they blister really easily and new shoes hurt! But they are always soft.

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 29/05/2019 23:10

Sanctuary Spa heel balm.

Honestly it's fantastic i cant live with it ( and it smells lovely too)

Here it is ...

@Pascha - same! My OH's are like a baby's feet and he does NOTHING! Mine are like rhinoceros hooves despite regular cheese grating and heel balm applications Envy

OldAndWornOut · 29/05/2019 23:27

I think its because men wear sensible shoes.
Ones that fit, are comfortable, and allow them to walk properly.

AnythingNotEverything · 29/05/2019 23:27

Bugger. So is it maybe a genetic thing or something? Even when I use cream every day (body shop peppermint foot stuff or the Aldi stuff with urea), it doesn't make a huge difference.

I have soft feet. I rarely wear heels and use a body brush all over including the bottoms of feet before I shower.
I switched from shower gel to soap and I noticed that they are even softer now. I don't use creams on them.

BeckyAnnLeeman · 29/05/2019 23:47

Maybe FIL likes nothing more than to get busy with a foot file and a tube of Flexitol. Grin

BeckyAnnLeeman · 29/05/2019 23:49

Newtons chiropody sponge and Flexitol are the key to baby soft footsies in my experience.

BusterGonad · 30/05/2019 08:06

My feet WERE soft when I used a Japanese hand cream with urea in. That was the best cream ever, I bought it in a 7-ELEVEN! I wish I bought a million tubes of the stuff.

WelshMoth · 30/05/2019 21:38

Buster don't suppose you remember the name? DH off to Japan in the Autumn.

FlukeSkyeRunner · 30/05/2019 21:51

Vaseline. At bedtime. Makes a huge difference

Soola · 30/05/2019 22:05

I moisturise all over every day and have never had hard skin on my feet and my skin is soft and smooth.

I do also exfoliate sometimes in the bath or shower with a scrub. I always dry my feet thoroughly and use talc to make sure my feet are thoroughly dry.

Rooftree · 30/05/2019 22:08

I file my heels about once a fortnight and use blue Nivea nightly. Bingo, nice soft feet and heels

littlecabbage · 30/05/2019 22:08

My feet are soft. I assume due to always wearing at least socks, and often either shoes or slippers. I hate them to be cold.

You never see a man having shoes he can only wear if he's going in a car with just a short walk involved.
Or buying a size 10 when he's an 11 because he couldn't resist..

AnythingNotEverything · 30/05/2019 22:35

I can promise I only wear comfortable shoes! Currently alternating between new balance trainers and Birkenstocks. I only wear heels on very special occasions, and even the. They have to be comfy ones!

MashedSpud · 30/05/2019 22:38

Newtons sponge. Best thing I ever used.

Isthebigwomanhere · 30/05/2019 22:39

Newton sponges are a game changer

ASauvignonADay · 30/05/2019 22:41

Do a foot peel
Moisturise (sanctuary heel balm is fab)
