M & S Summer beauty box

Does anyone have any insider info on whether M & S are doing a Summer beauty box this year? I bought their boxes for the past two years and they were fab value but I'm sure they were available by this time in the year? Got a few bits I'd like to buy but holding off just in case!

@Soola - thank you. I would buy online so will give it a whirl. A second beauty box will make a great present for a friend who is due to have an operation

NotPennysBoat · 18/06/2019 15:38

Has anyone bought it yet? I've been so excited about it but have ultimately decided not to get it. Don't think it's as good value as it has been previously - definitely less in it. Disappointing!

Housewife2010 · 18/06/2019 17:17

I always buy their advent calendars and bought the last couple of summer boxes, but I'm not bothering this year. There are fewer products and two are single use sachets. I think www.latestinbeauty.com where you can choose 9 products for £18 posted is far better value.

Belindabelle · 18/06/2019 18:48

I am not going to bother either.

ExpletiveDelighted · 18/06/2019 19:22

I decided to go ahead, although it doesn't have as much as previously I mostly like the sound of the contents. Picking it up tomorrow, will report back.

zxcv123 · 18/06/2019 19:31

I happened to be in M&S this morning buying over £40 of things, so was offered one at the till. It's got quite a few items which are 25-30ml so the right size to take on holiday, including a face SPF30 cream, a perfume spray and a tinted leg serum to cover my pasty legs!

I definitely wouldn't pay £110 for the contents, but for £15 I'm perfectly happy.

woodhill · 18/06/2019 19:32

Nor me. Did look lovely but have loads of stuff already

MsRabbitRocks · 18/06/2019 19:43

Am a bit disappointed! It has 4 items less than last year and there were some full size products last year as well. Definitely looks a bit pathetic in comparison to previous years offerings. A shame really.

Alsohuman · 18/06/2019 19:47

We placed an order with M&S today, I didn’t bother with the beauty box, it doesn’t excite me at all.

woodhill · 18/06/2019 19:57

I swear it used to be free with an order

Alsohuman · 18/06/2019 20:08

I think you’re right. I got one free a few years ago, I must have done because l’d never buy it.

Richlyfruited · 18/06/2019 20:26

Disappointed with it this year - I'd have liked all new products to try not just a repeat of last year's offerings e.g Ultrasun, Ren shower gel.

With just being travel sizes and the pouches it doesn't seem particularly good value to me?

teta · 18/06/2019 22:04

I normally buy the summer and winter boxes for dd1 as a gift. This year's products are really not worth it according to DD. So we're skipping this year.

FenellaMaxwell · 18/06/2019 22:07

I’m not bothering this year. It’s really disappointing looking. I didn’t think the last Christmas one was as good as usual either.

woodhill · 18/06/2019 22:11

Maybe we are all becoming disenchanted with all these products and continual temptation to buy more products. So easy to think I'll just buy this and then that.

I think a lot of us are suffering from FOMO with beauty boxes?

MinesaPinot · 18/06/2019 22:22

After saying earlier up the thread that I was excited to get this year's box, I had another look at the contents. Last year's had 16 products including the bag. A good mix of products and useful sizes. This year's has 10 products, some only one use. I don't think it's anywhere near as good as last year's so I won't be bothering.

Housewife2010 · 19/06/2019 06:18

I don't think I'm bored with beauty boxes. It's just compared to previous boxes this one isn't as exciting or as good value. I've just spent £9 including postage for a box of three items that I've chosen myself from Latest in Beauty worth £170.

latedecember1963 · 19/06/2019 07:56

I'm giving the summer beauty box a miss this year having looked at the list of contents. There are some nice items but I can manage without it.
Maybe if they don't sell as many as in previous years the standard will improve again next summer.
Only about 5 months until we can start looking forward to the beauty Advent calendar!

FenellaMaxwell · 19/06/2019 08:25

I’m not bored with them at all, this one simply isn’t as good an offering as in the past.

Alsohuman · 19/06/2019 08:44

No advent calendar for me this year. I was so disappointed with last year’s. I’m saving up for the Liberty one or possibly the John Lewis one if I can get my hands on it before it sells out.

MinesaPinot · 19/06/2019 09:26

Housewife2010 thanks for the mention about Latest in Beauty. I've just been on their website and there seems to be a good range of products. I especially like the look of their Summer box, even though it is £30. I've put it in my Favourites for later.

ExpletiveDelighted · 19/06/2019 09:30

It might not be as good as in the past (I've only had it once before) but it's still pretty good value for £15.

Housewife2010 · 19/06/2019 11:38

MinesaPinot
Latest in Beauty are releasing a new Style box tomorrow. They also have at least one new product released every day in their build your own box.

raisinsraisins · 19/06/2019 14:22

I have ordered the box as I needed to buy a face sunscreen for my holiday anyway, which would have probably cost me £5, so for £15 the box is probably worth it. However, I do agree that it is disappointing compared to previous years, when it has had full size nail varnish and other products such as Percy and Reed Wonder Balm.

The price on the website is £110, and it only discounts £95 once you click to checkout! I can’t see how the contents would ever cost £110?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 19/06/2019 15:44

Think I'll give it a miss, mostly because there's a fair bit of stuff I won't actually use, and DD already benefited from the Crimbo calendar for that reason. I have been on Latest in Beauty, due to above mentions, and found I can pick my own stuff! Currently have the £15 monthly box sat in my cart, along with another box I didn't need either I am trying to resist temptation, but so hard! I am also stressed, and celebrating a special but secret anniversary so I might just go for it. Grin There is a discount code around for 10%, which has helped Grin
