I’m looking for some nice embroidered loafers for work. Are these appropriate for a 36 year old?

That's quite a big departure from moccasins OP. I think the black lace ups are going to produce less judgement Grin

Laiste · 26/05/2019 17:56

Would they be a bit hot for summer? The black ones.

Tableclothing · 26/05/2019 17:59

What occasion are the shoes for? What's your budget? What sort of things do you normally wear? (shapes/colours/materials/brands etc)

Dippypippy1980 · 26/05/2019 18:08

Lack ones are much better - others were hideous😂. Sorry 😐

Bluebluered · 26/05/2019 18:12

😆, I’m just trying to get a new job work wardrobe together. I’m new to this because I’ve ever only worked in a lab with a white coat on. This is my first job where my clothes will be on display and if my shoes don’t match I’ll look odd. I usually wear trainers and canvas shoes which isn’t really helpful! So black shoes are better 😂

Blueblured I really like the second pair, but the first pair definitely not.

TheGirlWhoLived · 26/05/2019 18:18

I wouldn’t wear them AND i’d Judge you for wearing them Grin
But only secretly

MrsMozartMkII · 26/05/2019 18:19

I think they're quite cute...

Tableclothing · 26/05/2019 18:20

If you wanted something with a bit of embellishment how about

Clarks have some decent smart/flat options too

Bluebluered · 26/05/2019 22:03

I don’t think I want embellished shoes now. I’ll stay with the safe shoes 😂😂

OP the black ones are just fine and much more modern in look.

Dippypippy1980 · 26/05/2019 22:42

What type of clothes are you planning to wear to work. The black ones are fine, but a bit more casual than I could ever get away with in work.

StCharlotte · 26/05/2019 23:52

What about Moshulu? These for example?

Are these nice shoes? Would you wear them?
StCharlotte · 26/05/2019 23:55

Yes I was going to say Swedish folk costume, like their Crown Princess wears on the national holiday.

Swedish National Costume shoes are even worse!

BusterGonad · 27/05/2019 09:45

I wouldn't wear them if they were the last pair of shoes on the planet! 😂

Bluebluered · 27/05/2019 09:59

😂🤣, thank goodness I asked on here first.

You're ricocheting from one style to another, so it's hard to decipher what you're aiming for!

Fitflops do a comfy ballet flat that won't hurt your eyeballs and will be like walking on clouds all day.

BusterGonad · 27/05/2019 11:01

What are your usual fashion choices op? What will you be wearing them with?

Bluebluered · 27/05/2019 12:29

I like trainers and I like ankle boots, I don’t like heels of any kind, but a small wedge or thick sole is fine. I also like canvas shoes and flatish espadrilles. For the winter I love my brown doc martins and mid length boots. I’ll probably be wearing skinny trousers or culottes and baggy shirts. I don’t think it’s super smart, but casual smart, so no jeans but no blazers/jackets either.

Ankle boots and a dress might be a good look for you then. My work is business’s casual and this look is easy.

KittyMcKitty · 27/05/2019 12:49

I think the black shoes you posted would be perfect Smile

Dippypippy1980 · 27/05/2019 12:50

I know people either love or hate Boden - but just as an illustration

I have these boots - wear them with dresses to work all the time

Are these nice shoes? Would you wear them?
Dippypippy1980 · 27/05/2019 12:51

Of course these have a bit of a heel - but you could go flatter

BusterGonad · 27/05/2019 13:41

That's a gorgeous look Dippy, I'd wear that whole outfit!

Bluebluered · 27/05/2019 15:42

Thanks dippy, that does look very nice. I’d probably prefer tights and a looser dress but I can see what you mean
