the DM jizz themselves

I snorted my tea at that! Grin

Potus and Flotus are visiting on the 3rd -6th June.
I read elsewhere that Meghan won’t attend. If I was her I’d be unable to tell Trump what I really thought of him.
Andy and Charles and Camilla have to do most of the heavy lifting.
I can now see why TM wanted to stay on till the 7 th of June.
Well at least Melanie will be wearing some frocks worth talking about.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/05/2019 16:48

*unable to not tell Trump what I thought of him...

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/05/2019 16:53

I'm sure Kate and William don't think much of him either but I heard that they'll have to meet him and be polite. Meghan is probably very glad to be on maternity leave!

Did I spy a state banquet at the bottom there! So we will get some tiaras Crown I wonder if William and Kate will attend. I bet everyone is jealous of Meghan no better excuse than mat leave Wink

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/05/2019 16:58

I think Trump's visit is one event Meghan SHOULD attend. I would expect her, as a fellow American, to put in an appearance when the President of her country comes to visit. The poor Queen is going to have to meet him.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/05/2019 17:11

HM will "formally bid him farewell". Hopefully like this!

Yes but she's head of state and that's her job, not Meghan's!

Also Meghan genuinely is on maternity leave Archie will be a month old when trump comes!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 24/05/2019 17:17

If the Queen and the Royal Family are happy to be pally pally with the King of Bahrain and invite him to Windsor horse show and by all accounts swap gifts of horses etc I think they will cope just fine sitting beside Trump for dinner. No poor Queen from me.

She met him last July, I’m sure HM has prepared herself for the stable genius .

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 24/05/2019 17:25

They've got lots in common, don't worry.

I don't think Kate's garden was sponsored by M&G, they are the sponsors for the whole show (although that article could be clearer!)

I also like that she's continuing to work with the designers for another two gardens, she's clearly enjoyed doing it.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/05/2019 17:34

Tyra I read it as they were the sponsors of the whole RHS show and Kate's garden was an official RHS one. But that could be wrong and agree it is badly worded.

latedecember1963 · 24/05/2019 17:43

Don't worry, Curlywurlytwirly, I'm quite partial to a bit of Per Una too. My lovely MiL is also one of BonMarche's best customers. It takes all sorts to make a world. 😊

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/05/2019 17:52

Goodness, has Charles ever looked as silly as he does there @OutwiththeOutCrowd?

Mind you, tell Anne that Trump is a "stable genius" and she might misunderstand and talk horses at him all night!

Just sliced my thumb , while trying and miserably failing to cut an avocado into a Rose,

Maybe Kate has not mastered the art of effortless avocado slicing too?

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/05/2019 17:56

I was never a fan of Per Una, though I was quite partial to a bit of Limited Collection when I lived near an M&S. I had two pairs of LC leggings that lasted 9 years before giving way at the knees! Have never found any like them since. The general consensus seems to be that M&S quality has taken a dive in recent years.

@queenofarles my ex nearly lost a finger when he decided to destone an avocado by whacking a knife into it and missing!

Anne: they tell me you are a stable genius....
trump: yes I am I’m the stablest genius the WH ever had,

Laiste · 24/05/2019 18:42

I was perhaps a tad vitriolic with the Bonmarche remark. Shot from the hip a bit Grin My mum shops there and loves it ... but she's 83.

As for M&S - i confess i walk through there and often see quite a few bits i like. No idea which range is which though so some of it could easily be PU ...

beanaseireann · 24/05/2019 18:50

I think that poster had children with special needs.
Let's cut her a bit of slack.
I think she was telling us about a life very different to some of ours.
I don't know any royals or have a "swanky" lifestyle.
But I find it interesting reading on Mumsnet about other women's experiences / lifestyles.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 24/05/2019 19:08

Going back to M&S, why when they do get it right do they then wreck it & do it all wrong? (Mind you M&S have been in that cycle for at least the last 30 years.)
Do M&S have the equivalent of 'men in grey suits' who decide their way is best regardless?
That M&S black jumper with the slightly bell sleeve that Meghan wore on one pre marriage Royal engagement now that's M&S doing it right. Stylish but not too fashiony, a classic that any woman would or could wear & look good in.

frugalkitty · 24/05/2019 19:18

Latedecember I thought of you the other day when I was in M&S, because I picked up a lovely blouse and then realised it was a Per Una one....without lace/frills/fluffles....I put it back rather suspicious at the check of a perfectly nice blouse being on a Per Una hanger! Grin

latedecember1963 · 24/05/2019 19:58

Ah, that's made me chuckle, Frugalkitty. 🤗
